Guys what are the major differences in strategy and player profiles between DT and SC.   Been in SC for three years now and going to do all three FF this year.

Thanks

Have never done SC myself but understand the gist of it being based off efficiency I believe. Will give a run down on AFL Fantasy and Dreamteam. Scoring is the same for both of these and is broken down like so;
Kick = 3 points
Handball = 2 points
Hitout = 1 point
Goal = 6 points
Point = 1 point
Tackle = 4 points
Free Kick Against = -3 points
Free Kick For = 1 point

That is it. Basically you want to have players that are going to have high possession or high tackle numbers. You will be surprised at how quickly a player with a high tackle count can rack up the points. 10 tackles = 40 points.

There is slight differences with AF and DT. AF has an unlimited number of trades throughout the season with a max of 2 trades per round (maybe 3 for the byes - I can't remember). For DT you have a limited number of trades throught the season of 30, also with a max of 2 per round. I know for sure there is 3 trades throughout the byes where the highest score from 18 players count.

There are a few little things I am missing but that is the general gist of it. Personally, I can't stand AF anymore jsut doesn't seem like that much of a challenge. I have a league I normally do with mates for money and we all much prefer Dreamteam, it gives it that spin where you need to make a decision to trade a player or hold on to them if injured etc.

Hope this helps a little. :)

Thank you for the information Barra.   I am going to do AF so I can get into Elxam but DT and SC more of an appeal.

Was that what you're after? I just realised I also missed a mark which is 3 points.  :-\

me personally, i'm looking for 'possession hogs' in DT and not fussed about disposal/contested possessions, whereas in SC those stats are 'king' and any outside players or those with poor disposal will generally not be considered ...

it was described to me for example that Rhys Palmer when he came on the scene as a rookie, he gathered lots of possessions but then would butcher the ball ... so ok for DT but not for SC ... this is why GAJ (until last year's shoulder injury issues) is SC royalty and his numbers translate well for DT/AF, but he was pretty much a 'must-have' in SC until last year ...

This important for you.  Another one who is reallt DT/AF relevant is Dane swan if you look at his stats over his career he is on average 4/5 ppg better off in AF/DT than SC.  So if you are tossing up between players have a look at the player stats for both and make your decision then.
