My team :

Having a bit of analysis paralysis with my last two trades, basically unsure if I should upgrade Ward/Armitage to Danger or get rid of that muppet Harry Taylor.

Ward has Sydney and Carlton
Armitage has Geelong and Sydney.

Getting danger will obviously give me a great VC option against Brisbane this week. Ward should go big "sometime". Armitage did well last week.

Decisions decisions.....any advice guys?

Spite

I would look at getting in a defender for taylor, perhaps higgins (although tough draw this week) for dpp with goddard. It may be a bit excessive however. Any premo for taylor really. Good luck!

Blues Blues Blues

Yeah you've got to get a defender in for Taylor. Upgrade as opposed to sideways shift for Ward/Armo

Grazz

Agree with the others upgrade Taylor to a better defender. Should be more points gained doing this than going sideways with either Armo or Ward.

PICCOLLO

Blues and Grazz are spot on here.  I have Taylor myself (bench cover) and he really isn't getting off his man enough to get the scores we want to see from him.  Trade/keep for bench

Armitage goes ok against the better sides so he'll be okay.  You'd think Ward might start to get a bit more pill with all GWS' outs so hang tough there.

Get rid of Harry. He is a drain on your team whilst Armo and Ward aren't.

Thanks for all your advice so far.

If I am trading HT out, there doesn't seem to be anyone who can score "big" available...ie, I have Shaw, Hodge, Picken, Houli etc. Say I do trade him. Who to? Higgins is the obvious choice but has injury/selection concerns. If he is rested R22 then all will be for nought as I will find myself with Edwards. Rance/Murphy/Simpson et al all seem to get 100 but not much more?

As you have all said, Ward should get better scores due to injuries to the rest of the midfield but last game he plodded to 100 and Griffen of all people went big.

I suppose Im seeking validation on the following idea:

Loophole Edwards and HT and hope one of them scores over 80. Upgrade Ward to Dangerfield who "should" go big against Brisbane thus giving me a clear VC this week along with a ultra premium. My opponent does not (currently) have Dangerfield (or Fyfe or Hodge). He has two trades left so no doubt he will be picking two of those 3.

Thanks to everyone for your input so far!

MC

I recommend Titch on the field over Bartel for a start. He's wasted on the mids bench!

If I were in your spot I would be considering the worth of the trade(s) that you make. Say for example you downgrade a plump rookie for a playing rookie (make 120k roughly) and use that cash to trade up Taylor to a prem defender... Your net gain for that trade is around 15ppg perhaps - not too shabby. However; if you do make it to the GF you will have no trades left, and a rested player or two will COST you the GF and possibly 200+ points.

My suggestion: Leave it as late as possible to make your trades, base the decision on how your PODs do in comparison to his. If you're struggling on Saturday arvo, you still have plenty of time to trade the Crows/Cats players in or out. (ie Taylor out or Danger in)
Taylor is definitely the priority here, Ward and Armitage should be the least of your concerns.

Diesels Pups

You have a conundrum now with Picken set to miss

Puppetry

Yeah, the naming of teams was brutal this week. Picken out means I need Edwards on field anyway. Armitage out AND my cover Mitchell out means I need to trade one of them just to avoid a donut.

All the conjecture for naught. No trades left but no donuts on field. Game on!
