Selwood for a Selwood

J.Selwood out for a week and im struggling to make cash anywhere because of the lack of fat rookies. Joel is cheap because he has been playing average and Scoot is extremely cheap. It is a HUGE risk but i wonder if Scoot can get back to his form two years ago, or even just average 90 as a stepping stone to a premium and make me some nice money from Joel.
Thoughts ?

hmm, probably wouldn't bring in Scotty Selwood. there are probably better options to making some coin / scoring.  For instance, you could look at his team mate in Dom Sheed (353k AVG.69 B/E 34) who is playing some reasonably footy atm.  Crows Brodie Smith (352k AVG.70 B/E 45) or GWS Jack Steele (304k AVG.81 B/E 15).

Or if you want potential scoring power you can bring in Bontempelli from the doggies (447k AVG.90 B/E 54).

IMO Steele for mine, seeing as Shiel is out now for 6 - 12 weeks.

Plently of options really, but wouldn't bring on S.Selwood that's for sure.

I agree with the Steele call, will make you some coint to use elsewhere and GWS playing GC, Steele could pump out a big score.

+1 on this advice....I think he will score big.

I think Sheed's taken Scooter's old role tbh
especially with Scooter's vesting's of late (due to managing his poor fitness)
Joel's actually being pretty influential for Geelong, but isn't racking them up for a DT perspective

fwiw, GC aren't as leaky post-bye as they were pre-Ablett, so it's no longer a lock captain choice (or fringe players)
that said, I'll be playing Steele myself this week

Yep all valid points. Its annoying because Ive seen what Scoot has done before. Also along with Steele, i think Matt Crouch could be a nice pickup aswell

Can you get Jelwood to someone like McVeigh or Bartel, play them in the mids for now then move them to the fwd line or back line when you get the opportunity?

I'd be concerned with Bartels scoring with Selwood out.

Could work the other way too though, means he will definitely be in the midfield for the majority of the game...

Try Toby Greene, i know he's been a little disappointing but his last fortnight has been good, he's had mid 90s i think and with Shiel out for a while he might get some more midfield time.
I'd jump on

smoothM24

Even if i do bring in a toby greene or a mcveigh I would prefer to be playing them in the back/forward. SO then i would need to find huge dollars from somewhere to upgrade a back to a midfield premium. Seems hard. Ill consider it though. I like Toby Greene he is a all time favourite of mine

Capper

The main issue with Scooter is that he has been the sub. Will he be the sub again, no one knows

TightMoot

All the Selwoods are trash in my opinion should go for a lock such as jakey carlisle 8)

Am I the only one that thinks one of the main reason for Selwood's poor form is lack of support? :o
Duncan, Kelly and Bartel all missed huge chunks throughout the year, behind Selwood only Blitz/Caddy have been a somewhat constant presence. Now with Selwood, Kelly, Bartel, Duncan, Caddy, Motlop, Blitz, SJ all in the mix I reckon he'll finish strong. Personally bringing him into Real DT for Wallis, last week Geelong had 5 mids go 120+
