Ranked 1062. Still gunning for overall. $41500 in the bank 16 trades.

R11 players: 18
R12 Players 17
R13 players 18

R11: Trade Rockliff an CEY for mid premo (wines?)  and mid rookie (boston?).
R12: McKenzie, Oxley, Krak to Hamling, Gibson/Higgens and FWD Rookie (Jack Steele?).
After seeing Oxley against Melbourne I'm leaning to hold him as he avg 80 and looks stable in pies defence. Is this a wrong thing to do?
R13: Saad to Sloane

Happy with things at the moment. Really want to use next three weeks to close the rank to about 500. While the prospect of the 50k is there I am going for it and if I fall behind, so be it and I can always focus on league.

What do u think guys?

PowerBug

Ok well I see an alternative here. It's a bit gutsy, but you hold Rockliff. And then I see the following trades for you:

Round 11:
CEY -> Boston like you said
Saad -> Wines (The premium you want)
$130,500 left over

Round 12:
McKenzie -> Hamling (logical choice) [+$100,000)
Oxley -> Gibson (Your choice of premium) [-$110,000]
Krakouer -> Lambert? (Might be a better option as is cheaper) [+$170,000]
~$290,000

Round 13:
Tarrant -> Goddard (Finishes the fwd line) [-$230,000]
~$60,000

That would give you a complete team by holding Rockliff. You could still get that complete team by Round 13 by trading Rockliff this week and using DPP to cover until you eventually make the Tarrant -> Sloane trade in Round 13 (Because silly to get Sloane now of course) but doing so uses another trade.

Your team though, this is just an alternative option for you.

Locinator

I like Powerbug's alternative. On top of that, it's silly not to use all three trades in round 13, if you have two trades and can get more points by upgrading. Perhaps see if you can, in addition to the Tarrant trade to go

Dumont -> Sloane
Salem -> Lambert/Rookie

That leaves your team with no rookies on field leaving the byes. Might be a bit tight with the salary though

geoffmack

Awesome ideas Thanks guys. I like holding Rocky and perhaps getting Laird n the back line instead of Gibson or Higgins which most ppl have. I gotta get a POD if i'm gonna be any chance of advancing up the ranks. And ur right Locinator why hold the trades when there is 3 to use. Really want Jack Steele to play this week and next.

PowerBug

I gotta say PowerBug, I like it. Ive done the maths and instead of Goddard i'm aiming for Deledio. With the BE over the next few weeks I believe its attainable. Instead of Gibson or Higgins a Laird at 475k is great value and a POD.

geoffmack

2 tons in a row to Oxley. Can't trade him. Rocky ur OUT

geoffmack

Last week I traded:
Cey -> Boston
Saad -> Wines

R12 Carnage.
McKenzie -> Hamling
Rocky -> Steele (Has to play with GWS injury crisis)
Oxley -> Hodge
427k

Need Salem, Dumont Amon to play to have any hope of getting 18 this week

R13
Tarrant -> Deledio
Dumont -> Sloane
Krak -> Lambert
approx 85-90k
8 trades left

geoffmack

Ranked 676 overall, going for the 50k

11 trades left, this week thinking: Griffen, Tarrant, DuMont for Sloane, Lids, Lambert. Leaves 130k in bank. Hold Oxley 1-2 more weeks then upgrade him to final mid spot move Hodge back.

R13 Side would be:
DEF: Heater, Oxley, Newnes, Hibberd, Kade, Smith (Lever, Hamling)
MID: Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, JPK, Parker, Hodge, Sloane, Wines, (Boston, Amon, Steele)
RUCK: Goldy, NicNat, (Cox)
FWD: Dusty, Dahl, Swan, Mitch, Lids, Gray, (Lambert, Krak)

Right way to go? or am i bonkers?

geoffmack

Climbed up to 402 overall. 8 trades left with 130k.

Sloane to Beams leaves $300.

Is Sidebottom worth a punt? Seems cheap?

Safer option at this point is certainly Beams.

Yeah I agree. Another idea is upgrade Oxley. Is this the week given his value will start to drop given a relatively high BE n playing the Hawks?

geoffmack

Well moved to 345 overall. Held my trades last week with the best 18 scenario. Not entirely sure of what to do this week if anything.

Am gunning for Beams but with GAZ back im thinking in 2 minds, perhaps hold off? Im a tad confused.

Oxley is starting to leak cash. Maynard is looming as a def/mid bench option so perhaps Oxley out move Hodge back bring in Maynard, Sloane to Beams means i will need to play Steele at M8 with Krak dropped (im scratching my head with that decision, Ken??), Nets me 290k cash for last upgrade.
