Premo fwd or Premo back?

I am going for a league win and am placed 5th.
i have $132k and 21 trades. I also plan to pick up Gray for clark next week.
My current team before trading this week.

B- Shaw, KMac, Newnes, Ibbo, Oxley, Saad (McKenzie, Goodes)
M- Fyfe, Pendles, Selwood, StevieJ, Parker, CEY, Lewis, Miller (Rocky, Krakouer, Heeney)
R- Goldy, Grundy(cox)
F- Swan, Martin, Buddy, BJ, TMitch, Lonie (Dale, Clark)

I don't really get your question... you've given options of different defenders to trade in but your thread is premo fwd or premo back? So are you asking whether you should get Gray this week instead of a defender, or which defender you should get this week?

In any case I think Goodes to Hodge is a good move for you this week...

The question I suppose was 2 parts-
1. Get Gray or a Prem DEF this week.
2. Which trade option if a Prem DEF was the way to go.

Gray is certainly a must have but very pricey, I think you could be better off waiting a bit and hoping he has a stinker and drops under 600k. But if you really plan to get him next week, his BE is 119 which is pretty much his average so assume his price won't change too much, in which case why not get him this week? I think he's a good chance to outscore your defender options...

Goodes to Hodge I think is the pick of the defenders but if you have to trade down Rocky to get him then maybe it isn't worth it... But I also dunno about trading Ox to get him, leaving you with no bench cover... I'm a more conservative player so take the risk if you want to.

Consider that Brodie Smith is back in for the Crows and could be very cheap in a couple of weeks... Maybe you're paying overs but if you grab Gray this week you get your prem scorer and could look at Smith as a cheap defender later?

You are going for league, so unless you are in a tough position ladder wise, why trade out Rockliff? I would hold him expect a Round 14/15 return. Krakouer -> Dumont and hold the other trade. Then look at using 3 trades in Round 12 and 13 to trade out some rookies and get some upgrades. A few options for you looking forward: CEY -> Boston (Round 11), McKenzie -> Hamling (Round 12). Then with that money you can upgrade Miller -> Hodge in Round 12, and get Gray straight after his bye.

I'm not sure I like the idea of trading Rockliff if you are focusing on leagues that is all.
