44 points at 3QT isn't fantastic, but it's not exactly abysmal from a $180k player... That and Salem is obviously capable of more.

If he can crack into the 60's I'd be happy with that

As South said hasn't really impressed me, but need to take his price into perspective I guess.

everyone seems a bit off tbh as expected round 1

Diesels Pups

Salem the only one I'm disappointed in. Higher price and all the talk was you have to have him in your side. Only round 1 though folks.

cant gun it all in the first week..... next week roles will probably reverse and the high scorers will probably be the low scorers

Just something to consider with Salem, he didn't play all that well and still scored 40. Considering we had a few rookies in the forward line last year that scored 20's and 30's on the reg (Gary Rohan I am looking at you) is a floor of 40 really that bad? I would think he has the ability to score a lot better then he did last night and if he throws the odd 40 up so be it

Still this. I expect him to average 60-70 odd. 55 is ok for his first hit out

I'd rather go 2 mid-pricers than a gun + $180k rookie averaging 50  ;)

It also depends on who you are considering in that range as a mid price player. For example Monfries and Walters vs BJ and Salem

$340,600 and $383,000 is combo a in price - total price: $723,600

$548,800 $185,00 is combo b - total price $733,800

You save 10k with combo a

You get 90 and 90 at best from combo a and that is being generous to both for a total of 180 and at their price only one of those could be used as a stepping stone in Gus. I would expect maybe a 90 and 80 is more realistic which is a 170

105 and 60 from combo b and you have one guy that is a 100% lock to be a keeper. so you are getting 5 less points a game for certainty, some cash generation and will be expecting to burn the trade on Salem to upgrade/downgrade later on.

If you are going for certainty then I would still prefer combo b since premium forwards are expected to go for a 100+ average this season and neither Gus or Walters will get to that point

Great explanation of why GnR is so successful.  Good risk management.     Do you manage shares Mat I got some that need looking after.
