Lots of cash on the line

Hi guys,

I've had the last 4 or so seasons off from fantasy footy, but my work has a big cash league so I'm interested again big time.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Obviously rookies (and goodes) are pending selection.  I've got 96k left over, just wondering if I should upgrade Newnes...but at the same time not sure who I like there.

Any help would be great!

Cheers..

Not a fan of so many high priced rookies, think you need bring in Ellis-Yolmen for NVB, and I would look at ways to get Wells into the M5 position. Backline looks good pending rookie selections, forwards look strong and rucks look decent. Minno isn't one of my preferred picks but that's just personal choice.

Not sure you can get away with fielding two back rookies- Would definitely look to shore up that postion a bit

Also as Bully said, get Cam Eliis-Yolmen in the mids and I'd suggest picking up Cockatoo as well

Not sure about Burgoyne - would be much more confident with Simpson at only a few $ extra

Also not confident on Goddard, being in such a dysfunctional team

I completely missed that but yes, agree wholeheartedly. This is the price of picking up so many expensive rookies, guys like Miller & Lambert could balance things out.

You should also bring in Read at R3, Cox is useless for loophole purposes.

Yeah fair enough and thanks for the tips.

I've made a few changes and have a few more questions if you don't mind.

Thoughts on bringing in Roughy for Goddard?

I also agree Burgoyne isn't the best option, i'm just not convinced Simpson is the right guy.  He's old, the team is rubbish, and he isn't going to get any better.  Got concerns paying top dollar for him.  Should I use cash and go higher? (although there isn't much there...just Malceski)

Also, my thoughts on cox were to wait for the Ryder slide, and bring him into the forward line for a rookie, just for that piece of mind.  Thoughts?

Thanks again for the help, appreciate it.

Cox in principle is a good idea but Collingwood plays too many early games to make him effective as a loophole player. Read is 7k more expensive but plays on Sunday for the most part, he's also DPP.

Back line still looks vulnerable but could pay off if Essendon cop sanctions, however if it's 2 weeks like the papers suggest then Dalgleish could be a dead weight. You need to make some contingency plan.

Midfield and forwards look pretty good, not sold on Roughie and would get a midfielder but that's personal preference.

Like the team.   Good structure.  Great to see a Wells/Rich instead of Van Berlo.
Lang and Boekhurst could be CEY and Miller.
Goddard could be Bennell as a POD.

Waiting impatiently for Essendon decision.
As a Bombers supporter would like to see minimum sanctions, as SC would open up lots of rookies if they get 6wks or more.
