I can't remember the last time Taylor hunt played an AFL game and wasn't a tagger.  From what i've seen in his time in the yellow sash he isn't playing as a tagger. what do we think his chances are of averaging 85? that is if he palys as a free midfielder

Nige

He won't average 85.

Might have a good score every now and then, but will probably only average around 70-75ish.

Has been stated numerous times they are going to try to play him in a more attacking role, played 2 very good NAB games scoring 70 and 100. Defender under 300k who could average 75? On the watchlist for sure

This.

Worth a punt in the backline considering:
1.  His change of role
2. Lack of guaranteed scoring of premo's
3. Starting/scoring potential of rookies

He is unlikely to average enough to make the cash to justify his selection.

He's also right on the periphery of the best 22, no guarantees he will play every game.

With Foley to miss a fair chunk and Newman likely to miss early I would expect him to play.
Position is then his to lose. Main concern is him doing a shut down role every now and then.

I suspect like most teams, Richmond will go with a pretty full strength team this week and keep positions how they want them to prepare for round 1 so will be interesting to see how he scores.

Lets have another look at him in the last NAB game , his position may become clearer then

It is true that he will probably start in the best 22 but whether or not he stays there is still unknown. The other guys knocking on the door are Gordon, McIntosh & Lennon - all should see game time this year.

Unfortunately there aren't many, if any, players under 300k capable of averaging 75 to the naked eye. Only ones I can come up with are Hunt, C Pearce and Ben Jacobs. As everyone says it will be good to see how he goes in NAB 3, especially for someone like myself who intends going very light on in defence to start the season. Intended structure, rookies permitting, will be  2 / 5 / 2 / 4.  But it's a whole new ball game come Rd.1 selection time.    :(
