Wasn't able to watch the game last night and was just hoping to get an insight into some of the roles the brisbane boys played with what looks to be a pretty close to full strength side they had on the park.

In particular Zorko, Rich and how the Martin/Luey combo played out.

Thanks in advance!

Martin had most of the ruck time, but Berger only had 50 % TOG. Clearly they are handling him with care.

During the real season, I suspect it will more more like half/half ruck time. IMO that's not enough to get Berger.

Zorko played mainly up forward, but rotated into the mids. Similar to last season I would've thought, but with Christensen and Beams both new inclusions, I doubt he'll get as much mid time during the season.

Rich played off half-back, not worrying much about his opponent. Should score ok this year as he is unlikely to get tagged, but doubt he will better his previous 85 average.

Perfect summarisation. Agree 100%

FYI Martin attended 44 ruck contests and Luey 34, but Martin was on ground much more, so 50/50 share seems about right, but it could even be 60/40 Luey's way

I'm interested to know y ppl think a fit Daniel Rich running loose around 1/2 back can't better an 85 average, surely just because he hasn't in the past doesn't mean it's not possible ... does it ?

He hasn't done it in the past, and he hasn't done it from the first 2 NAB matches playing his new role off HB, so why will he all of a sudden do it come rd1?

I think low to mid 80's is very realistic

He's gone 85+ three times, and also 84.8 as well
Was averaging a tick over 90 in his first 2 games last year before getting injured on 60 halfway through the 2nd quarter
Will be receiving a lot less attention as well

In saying this, he isn't in my side, and probably won't be unless I need to downgrade my M5 for cash

What are people thinking of Bewick? Is he just a teaser or is there some serious relevance?

Rich played a good portion of last nights game a kick behind the pack, didnt always mean possessions, but its a nice spot for him

Because he's only averaged above 85 once, back in 2012.

Now going into his 7th year which is too late for a breakout.

Too late for a breakout? You're joking right?

Robbie Gray (8th year), Gary Ablett jnr (6th year), Matthew Boyd (7th year), Ivan Maric (7th year), Ryan Griffen (7th year) just to name a few. The list could go on and on - No such phrase as too late champ.

For info Rich not in my team atm but maybe depending on final structures.
Rich was always the first tagged when playing purely as a mid because of left boot and this effected his ability to score. Leppa moved him to HB last year and he averaged 90+ in first 2 games and then had 60 SC points in less than half a game prior to his ACL.

Can see Rich averaging 95+ if he remains at HB which indications are and takes kick ins and as he gains confidence with his leg.  D/e has also increased for 1st game to 2nd game. He has scored 97 and 78 in first 2 NAB cup games, Will more than likely only attract forward tags if at all.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Rich is definitely an interesting one. Would be a lot handier if he could be picked as a defender!

Would be a lock if a cheaper price and also if he has DPP. But awkardly priced even if using as a stepping stone.
