Been playing around again with structures and found a possible way around the lack of Defence rookies:

Def: Shaw, Newnes, Lamumba, Yeo, Waters/Macmillan, Jones, (Whitecross, Lever)

Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Wines, Van Berlo, Biggs, Cockatoo, Freeman, (Heeney, Boekhorst, Lambert)

Rucks: Jacobs, Naitanui, (Cox)

Fwds: Goddard, Martin, Bennell, Swan, Clark, Hogan, (Daniel, Krakouer)

Bank: $7,200

So basically with defence, if Waters doesn't get up, I do a straight swap with either Macmillan or another cheap rookie who puts their hand up, and then I have 4 players who will play most games and can avg 60~ which need to fill 2 spots. If I need to downgrade Waters to a rookie rather than Macmillan that gives me some money to possibly upgrade some basement rookies to higher priced rookies if need be after NAB.

Mids, Rucks and Forwards are very self explanatory.
