Start with Martin and it is not close.

The catch with Franklin (and other Key Fwds) is he relies on big scores of 180+ to maintain the end of year average of 93+
Personally I value the consistency Martin offers over the highs and lows of the Franklin types.

If you really like Franklin wait until his price drops and then get him.

aka. what ricochet said.

seems that dusty scores more evenly and buddy has more extremes in his scores, overall I think dusty will total more points than buddy for the year

Buddy is already arguably more underpriced than Martin, I have no doubt he'll average more. Sure, he's a little less consistent, but after his bye once he found his mojo, his 2 lowest scores were 71 & 72. He followed those scores with a 146 & 148, respectively. Hardly makes for a price drop, does it? If you want him, and he has a run of form, which he will, he'll soar in price more than many can and it'll be a while until you could bring him in. I guess many are hoping that doesn't come early.

I agree with comments in other posts like..''If you want Buddy you must have him from the start this year and take the highs with the lows'' He will miss a few games but he is settled more this year at Syd and back to the role he played at the Hawks he should continue on with his form from the 2nd half of last year.Only thing that would make me drop him for Goddard would be If Tippet got seriously Injured. Martin>Buddy just, both for massive years.

Definitely Dusty, no bias I swear.  :P

GoLions

Buddy. Because he is currently in my team :P

If the Bombers players cop the backdated 6 month bans, they will be suspended for rounds 1 and 2 of the season proper, and if that's the case Lance will probably be the first player to score 300 in an AFL match on his way to breaking the record for most goals in a game.

Or the Swans will know that they will dominate regardless of whether Buddy plays and decide to give that dodgy knee a rest.

I would pick Dusty with the news of more midfield time. I honestly think he has the potential to be the best player in the comp.

That said...
Franklin averaged 111 with Tippett!
Franklin is basically two different players. With Tippett he is a gun who dominates almost every game. Without Tippett he plays a structural role. The gap between the two Franklins is huge. The real problem with Franklin is not just that he is known for missing a few matches here and there, but that Tippett is also very injury prone, and to really get the most out of him you need BOTH of them out on the park.

I agree Martin over Buddy. But both is the real correct answer.

both will ton up. no doubt.
i'd rather Dusty. more mid time means more points. and if he polishes up his game. even more upside.

I quietly think Martin will go 105-110 this year.

100% wrong, never, just no way wow what a call...the stones on you   :D

Surprised that nearly everyone is saying Dusty.
I'm thinking it too but it's hard for me to judge as I feel my judgement is clouded by bias.
I'm starting both but would start Dusty if I was just going with 1.
More midfield time, just signed a contract, and I imagine Richmond will be putting a lot of focus on starting the year well after last year

It is difficult to leave Buddy out because he has the ability to punch out massive scores, but I prefer the consistency of Martin getting to 100 by half time and then putting his feet up and finishing on or around where he was at half time, super reliable!!!
