Quote from: Goosey on July 13, 2024, 12:43:37 PMIn the interest of increasing flexibility while waiting for Heeney/Miller/Gawn/Rankine to return, I think Reid out and Phillippou in provides Dawson/Comben DPP which gives you maximum DPP cover. There's probably not much to gain by sideways trading any of the premiums.

It definitely gives me security if 2 defenders go down, Ross I think will give Phillipou an extended run in the guts, Saints have very little to lose and will be attempting to get games into the young brigade.

The only question really is the points differential between Phillipou and Caldwell, I think Caldwell will probably outscore him by 30 points but having an extra body in there could be critical in the run home.

Rankine to Caldwell looks pretty solid. Gives you a full team this week and the 108

There is obviously more points to gain with Caldwell, but that could easily be eaten up by a donut elsewhere down the line. I guess that's what needs to be weighed up :)

This is the team with Phillpou, hard to gauge the value of an extra body at this stage but the team looks solid enough.

Rankine to Caldwell is clearly the best option for points onfield, I'd back him to outscore Phillipou but Rankine will also play the last 3 matches of the year.

Bully

Projected with Caldwell is 2383, that's actually a decent score in a round plagued with problems, I'm still sitting on the fence, 20 minutes to decide.

Bully

Have made my final call, Rankine to Caldwell, given I'm sitting 10th-6th in all my leagues I figure I better give myself the best shot at making finals. The whole house could come crashing down this week with more injuries but that's life.

arbel

I think that's the right call. Gives you the best shot I think. Rankine to Caldwell should be good.
Depends if you think when Rankine is back he'll score at same output straight away

Bully

Phillipou 101, Caldwell 110, I reckon both were viable picks, happy enough with the extra 9 points however, could be critical this week.

VC Bont is tempting me but I think I will roll the dice on Flanders, Zorko or Green.

Strange sort of a week but happy with 2250 after sustaining 4 outs from last week. I think Caldwell was the right choice moving forward, the fact he can also play in the midfield makes coverage fairly straightforward. The prognosis from here is looping Dowling & Humphries until Miller is back. I think there's some chance he returns in 3 weeks, that maybe overly optimistic with a fracture but it didn't seem season ending. In any case Humphries might be adequate coverage the way he's playing, looks good enough for D6 which might entail moving Daicos up to the mids. Gurrently ranked 16k, hopefully that holds up and with some luck I'll being seeing Gawn back on the park in time for finals.

It's a matter of letting it ride now and if Gawn returns you'll be in a pretty good spot with possibly being able to loop Comben/Mannagh as well (I know North are the late game this week). The opportunity to get two bites of the cherry will be a great advantage

I'm not expecting Gawn back this week but I would give him every shot at being available in round 20. I think many people traded him too, could be a weapon in a season bereft of legitimate captain's choices.

Bully

Dodged a bullet with Phillipou, out for 3-4 with a hip injury.

Bully

Bit of carnage this week with Yeo, Phillipou & Schoenmaker out, fortunately I've avoided any donuts but will be depending on my bench to cover Miller. Gawn tracking for next week, that should relieve some pressure in the forward line and will hopefully allow for some looping.

Bully

This week went well considering I'm relying on multiple rookies and have exhausted all my trades, 2484 has sent me up to the 13k mark which might be a nice platform to sneak into the top 10,000. That's probably the best scenario from here but it will require some good rookie scores whilst Miller is mending his wrist. That prognosis has been updated to 3-5 weeks which hopefully means he'll be back in time for the second week of finals. Comben switching forward probably means Mannagh will now become the main man in the forward line. Loops have been set for this week so I'll be able to capitalise if Comben kicks a bag against Geelong. This is all contingent on Gawn coming back of course, I think that's more probable than unlikely so I've planned accordingly.

We are following each other moving upwards Brown had a strong game in the VFL so he may get a recall considering Melbournes form.  Best of luck with trades exhausted,
