Dowling was playing with the B team at training, I don't think he can be relied upon, therefore I'm flipping Oliver to Sinclair and Sexton to Fisher. Sinclair has the bye next week but I think that's counterbalanced by the fact Nas is out and Sinclair stands some chance to be top 6 defender, in which case the Stewart problem can be pushed to D7.

Oliver I wanted to keep but I'll get slaughtered if I don't beef up the midfield this week, I suspect this will be carnage week.

Colliwobblers

I reckon Sinclair is an excellent get.

I'm surprised with the getting rid of sexton he's been solid if somewhat of a butcher. Fisher I'd definitely have ahead of him if it was one or the other though.

I might have to change from Dowling to Kreuger for my downgrade this week. Every time I don't listen I inevitably get burned...

I assume you didn't have the funds to do comben to fish instead of sexton?

It's about securing decent coverage over the next 2 weeks, I'm prepared to bleed some cash in the case of Comben, I'd rather have warm bodies at this stage. Quite a few concerns with the extended benches, Bont under some cloud & Daicos to pass a fitness test. I think I still may struggle to get 18 this week so best to move Sexton on.

I'd be picking Dowling over Kreuger, as soon as Mihocek is back I see Kreuger being shipped out. He is expected to be ready after their bye so he could be a dead rookie. I think I'd rather the risk with Dowling because he can be hidden at M9 if he does get moved out.

Sinclair is a solid option, but if you plan on replacing Stewart I'd just make that move directly this week and hold Oliver. After QT he looked pretty good and with Trac out for the season he is worth holding to see how he does next week. Sexton looks like the elite swing, I'd rather hold him if possible and he is a better long term hold than Comben. I know it's a cash issue and getting 18 on field this week, but I'd almost take the point hit this week to try and hold Sexton if you can.

I was under the impression that Kreuger was covering Mason Cox?

Frampton was the second ruck playing forward, I think he has the Cox role and Kreuger the Mihocek role

Bully

At least Dowling plays first, I'll switch if he avoids the vest.

I see more benefit in holding Stewart and trading Oliver to be honest, having deep cover in defence better as it strengthens D6 (Sinclair) and allows me to grab another gun mid.

Butters - BE 159 (projected price 607k)
Serong - BE 178 (projected price 608k)

I could also go cheap with Rozee

Rozee - BE 182 (projected price 424k)

which may allow me to grab both Rozee & Jackson next week, something which I will assess after monitoring every player's performance.

Sexton is a risky hold, I don't think he's nailed down the defensive role, I also don't think trading him now will hurt too much, he may make another 30k but he may also be sent forward when Powell returns, or even worse, sent back to the ressies. The plan was always to trade him to Jacko but I can just push that forward and hold Comben an extra week to get the numbers I need for round 14.

Bully

Aleer & McMullin make the cut but still a huge chance McMullin is sub again, this is the reason I have to let Sexton go this week. Freijah also on the bench, Sullivan a sub chance too, I think it's better to play it safe.

Bully

I was just scouring the pool for downgrade targets and Jack Carroll is back down to 127k! Couldn't believe my eyes, might be a solution next week if he avoids the vest.

Bully

Fisher back to being Fisher, I'll take the 71 but he gives me a sick feeling sometimes, I reckon Clarko wouldn't be too impressed and his job security probably on par with Sexton now that McKercher is close to returning. I don't think he's a terrible F6 but it will be an uphill battle to average 100.

Bully

This week I was expecting the worst but I somehow managed to wrangle a 2055 which has sent me up to 19k, a pleasing result considering I had only 12 premiums on the park. Dan Houston was brilliant and has given me a lifeline in a week that could have gone horribly wrong. Holding Comben was absolutely the right thing to do, McMullin scored 3 and that would have single handedly destroyed my week.

Moving onto the rookies and the cupboard is bare so I'll have to go for some slightly risky sub candidates, I think this strategy is the best, particularly with trades being so scarce. Campbell can score well if given the minutes, but given he also provides a DPP link to Daicos he has dual benefits and I don't mind running with him at M10 for a few weeks. Menzie has a -36 BE so he's a good place to park some money in preparation for Rankine.

This should be enough for 18 starters, trades now at 3, I hope I can get through the next month without any hiccups.

Mat0369

I've been looking at rookies and these are the ones I probably like

Schoenmaker - On bye this week which is unfortunate, but a great kick and Ross has been giving the young guys a crack. May get pushed out with Nas returning after their bye, but probably my number 1 at his price

Worner - Has proven he can score, concussion wiped him out after round 1, took a Chapman injury to get back in but if he is named he looks like a capable scorer in a line that has lacked rookies.

Strachan - Provides ruck coverage if he keeps playing and has been scoring well. Question is what do the Crows do in the ruck post bye? He isn't exactly young so it's not like they're dumping ROB for a kid. Probably a post bye pick

Roughies/Desperate

Turner - Seems to be holding a spot but has been god awful after his first game. He should get DPP though and opens up a link

Cadman - Is playing every week but he has been awful over the last 6 weeks. If he can get into some form he may be a decent option for the back end of the year.

Culley - Came back in off his ACL, playing for the Eagles he is a risk and probably not worth his price tag.

Carroll - Too many vests to probably be a lock, don't think that will change much over the next few weeks but he may not be a bad one to sit at M10/M11

Kreuger - On bye and a risk to go out when Miochek returns. Doesn't provide the same scoring as Strachan or the other guys the tier above.

Laurie - May play more with Trac out long term, an excellent price but a pretty crap scorer. Sub risk as well

Jack Hutchinson - Bargain priced, mid season draft pick and played his first game before the bye. Mid sized forwards generally score like crap, but could bob up with a 40 when needed for cover.

Schoenmaker looks outstanding, I know he slipped into the fourth round at the draft but that would have been based on some lager swilling as opposed to footballing ability. The problem with plonking all the chips on Schoey is St Kilda have Nas returning, Bonner would need to make way first I reckon, that would be my buying signal.

Strachan doesn't have DPP, I'll leave this one alone, particularly after the Sweet experience. I think there are better ways to make money from here. If people don't have Jacko then by all means but for my situation not really essential.

Worner another who might be a risky D7, I think he'll be in and out of the team.

Thinking outside of the box, one might entertain a premo to Rozee trade, that could wind up being 150k depending on the player, Steele or Miller might be candidates for that particular move.

Cadman probably the best bet in the bargain basement, although I might be tempted to roll the dice on Lynch at 250k, he's a good one to sit on the bench and loop when he kicks a bag.

Mat0369

If I remember reading correctly Schoenmaker got booted off one of the squads for drinking/supplying alcohol and had a couple other off field red flags that showed up which is why he fell so far. He was projected as a first round pick prior to that so he has a ton of talent.

I was originally thinking Laird down to Rozee this week with how he was underperforming. It would have been a nice cash grab but didn't bring in the coverage I wanted. Laird has also come out and scored a 140 so he stays.

I think I want to see one good game out of Rozee before jumping on, but his price next week may be good enough anyway.

I think I will just hold Comben, with these trades I can have him cover three lines, I think that's the smart play as I don't radically expose F6. Cash generation slightly worrisome, not sure how I will finance Rankine to be honest, could be awhile.

This is also going into next round a man down, but in the end it would only be a rookie. I think with Butters out I'm probably back to a level playing field.
