Extremely well played

It was until the Flanders news just came in, I've got Freijah marooned on the midfield bench, my only hope is Mannagh or Garcia but that seems a longshot. This week going to be tough, first true donut incoming.

Bully

And the SC site has crashed! What a disaster, would have been sweet if this happened next week, truly awful timing.

Mat0369

Yup, I can trade Houston back out and that's about it because of my Richards no emergency bench move

Bully

Imagine having Duursma covering Flanders! That's a big slap in the face.

This week went from chocolates to diarrhea after Flanders got gastro, chomping on a donut and then getting spooked by Gawn's dodgy calf, that was the difference in a par week of 2236, nothing to crow about apart from my rookies doing well. The Green over Dawson decision continues to rub salt into the wounds, that is by far the worst trade blunder of the year, the net cost hundreds of points.

Anyhow, I'll be bringing in Ridley given he's cheap for the upside, as long as he stays on the park he'll be good. Darcy can go, as can Sweet, this week I'll bring in Jacko in preparation for round 14.

arbel

Yeah I'm looking at Ridley but his bye round doesn't work well with my structure but he is def one to look at.
I'm still not sold on Jackson I was going to get him in but I didn't in the end and with a score of 67 I don't see how he get consistent high scores with Darcy in the team. Both on 6 year deals as well I think Freo broke that trade.

Bully

Any other year I would give him a wide berth but the cupboard is bare in the forward line and he's useful for ruck coverage. I think if you view him as a DPP Sweet or Darcy his value is more pronounced. That being said I'm not 100% on this selection and I understand the reluctance.

The other option I have is 3 trades, go early on Will Dawson for Howes, bring in both Ryan & Ridley and save the last spot for Sicily/Houston. I may do that as grabbing Ryan beyond this week looks like a logistical nightmare with funds drying up. I am very keen on keeping the Comben/Sexton combo, especially with Dawson in the mix. Don't have much else for sale really. Garcia is less then 100k and a wasted trade in my view.

This is the power move, risky on many fronts, I'm betting the house that Ryan won't throw up a stinker, I'm going early on Ridley bearing in my mind he just played a wooden spoon contender and I'm betting the house Dawson will play next week. I do have coverage in the event Dawson doesn't make the cut but in North's situation I'd say it's a case of tanking for draft picks and Clarkson has form in this area. Dawson played on BOG Wright, Clarko even gave Wright coaches votes, he didn't move him despite the mismatch. This is textbook tanking and I'd say the pattern for the rest of the year.

Mat0369

I like Ryan and Ridley infinitely better than Ryan and Jackson. I personally wouldn't go early on Ridley with his injury history and playing an awful Richmond team, but I can see why you would want him because he has a huge ceiling and is a great intercept marker.

Ridley already comes with a discount, two sub affected games last year, I think with a 162 already in the cycle this will be the cheapest he gets. I could wait next week but he has a BE of 51, fair chance he goes up in value. The last defensive spot will be between Sicily & Houston, pros & cons to both and having an extra week might make the decision easier.

Bully

This I can do with 2 trades, out Darcy & Howes, in Ryan & Salem. The benefit here is Ridley's price won't move & I can get another look at Sicily, Houston has the bye so he's out for next week.

I reckon Howes to Salem for 55k is pretty good value, almost feels like a get out of jail card, especially given he comes with DPP.

Bully

I think I'm settled on the above trades, Salem would appear to be perfect cover and allows for Clohesy to be traded, which begs the question, is it best to trade him this week with a BE of 77? Same goes for Wilson who has a BE of 87.

The reason I'm debating this is at current prices Clohesy to Dawson gives just enough cash to get Sweet to Ridley in 1 trade.

Likewise Garcia/Richards down to 123k rookie provides enough to get Wilson up to Fisher.

If the top 18 scorers are respectable I think I might go early on Dawson, Ridley/Sicily and Fisher would be 2 handy additions for next week.

Bully

What do people think of these trades? Darcy, Howes, Wilson out for Sicily, Ridley & Salem.

Sicily has 2 games against Richmond, 1 against West Coast, 1 against North, I think he has the easiest run home of all the big name defenders.

Ridley more speculative but is already discounted due to a couple of sub scores from last year.

Houston also in the thinking but he's such a high standard deviation player, his lows have the potential to ruin the week.

Ryan I would like but spending all the chips on him makes me very uneasy, I think it would be better to wait until after the bye.

The rookies look shocking from here, maybe some joy in the midseason draft but I'm struggling to see any great cash cows.

Ringo

You may have to look at Richards for Howes if funds allow unless you wish to hold till after the byes. He is out for 4 weeks.

Colliwobblers

Richards to Harrison :) 4 weeks minimum listed as 5-6. You'd think all your upgrades / trades will be done by then.

There are two gws rooks on the bubble who played last round. Then dawson from north. Expect another couple from the pies.

I'm getting fisher fwd next week, then clark and/or houston the week after.

I like Ridley always been a high ceiling and reliable scorer pending health. Sicily is like a key fwd lately seems to boom or bust, has copped tags. But with that run he's a good bet.

Salem would have to average minimum 80 plus going fwd to pay off i think in terms of cash gen.

Sexton Clohesy and comben pretty close to that scoring already without spending up on salem.

Think with the luxury of comben/sexton your D6/F6 is not a priority.

Maybe Sicily/Ridley and a FWD (good luck picking the right one) If it's for a cash grab maybe it's Boak I suspect even when he's back Rozee is destined for more FWD time.
