Macdonald has only had one season average over 70. DT dud. I'm seeing Waters in a lot of teams, probably due to the lack of good rookie backs. Just letting you know that he won't be a keeper. Trade him out when he peaks.

Think Dal Santo is a unique pick up.

Upgrade the backline rest of the team looks good.

mate everyone is starting 2 rookies, you'd be stupid not to, with their talent in the NAB.
probably look for Skipper, Lobbe or Roughead as a cheap bench ruckmen

roughead on the outer for round 1 and

Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: elephants on March 21, 2010, 03:06:06 PM
anyone have their thoughts on NDS for pendles...
hard to ignore pendles after 118 against the power.
wont be tagged cos of swan, didak and davis.
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: woozie10 on March 21, 2010, 03:09:56 PM
Being a collingwood supporter, I may be biased, but I think pendlebury is an absolute star and has the potential to be highest scorer in the league. I disagree about him getting set free due to the tags being put on swan or dids, I think pendlebury has more class than the two of them put together and won't be ignored at all by the opposition, but i think he is very capable of scoring well despite this...
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule

Q-Unit. I like that.
Preety solid team, taking a punt with the backs?
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: elephants on March 22, 2010, 05:08:15 AM
yeah i reckon that  waters could really bounce back this year and hunt was in my team last yr till he did his knee. what about stanton he will probly get the first or second tag but worth a crack???

Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: pinochio on March 22, 2010, 07:25:08 AM
Thx for ya great comments!

Here i go :)

Backs - Stock standard 2010 backline :), with exception of bock which imo should be like gram/hargrave...just see them doing better - having said that anything can happen, he is a solid pick either way! As you saw in my team i like the 5 premium backline as i was too scared of having the 3 'back cheapies'.....but again it could pay off.....ill just stress a tad bit less  ;D

Mids - Very very good imo. Nicky dal is only like 'hrrmmm'...i feel he cant handle a tag that well and theres better options  ;). ie like in my team (gottta be biased) watson + 50k.

Rucks - Perfect!

Forwards - As you said theyre like mine -buddy +tippett.....imo with us both having hille the extra secuirty of tippett/lobbe is pretty nice....and 30k less then buddy playing very similar roles! Hall is a bit weird...had him til today but did the 'ol lobbe/tips DP trick so i dont now (tbh i feel more secure cause you never with hall....7 touches 7 goals < how ofter that gonna happen  :D)

9/10

my 2 cents....

tell me what u think of these 2 cents 8)....

thx!

Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: elephants on March 22, 2010, 07:37:35 AM
hah awesome thanks for your help. i reckon bock will come in strong from the heel injury. i dunno who to put instead of NDS. i was thinking pendles or stanton.
cheers mate

Post by: Will$i@c! on March 22, 2010, 07:50:05 AM
Hey great team
Im not a fan of bock in your team he had an interupted pre season maybe later in the season u should pick him up
Hall will rise but trade him out when he is at his peak, he is relying on the amount of goals not possys so therefore he isnt in my team
9.5/10 good team
who do you think i should trade dempsey for
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: elephants on March 22, 2010, 10:51:22 AM
actually i think your right theres not much aroud that price range
ur probly better off sticking with dempsey or trading him for hunt and making 100k and bulking up other ares of ur team...
hope this helps
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: FLOPITOUT1 on March 22, 2010, 11:33:57 AM
Elephants-lobbe for spare ruck spot, then put tippett in fwd line, then you can sub tippett into your rucks for cover if needed.I agree lobbe will be pretty crappy dter but the dual positioning has got me
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: Dash on March 22, 2010, 11:34:20 AM
Have you settled on a 2nd bench ruck? If not have a look at Rhys Stanley good Nab form and suggested to be in Saints first 22. (refer season guide on AFL site). I like you team 8.5 to 9 /10 and would be great if you could rate mine. Post just called Please Rate Thx
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: elephants on March 23, 2010, 02:23:30 PM
nah i have been told to get a 77 k there but i dont think i will i might go trengrove from port cos he is looking good thoughts on having stanton???
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: TapItToMeNaitanui on March 24, 2010, 05:59:23 AM
stanton unstoppable in nab games that he played, i have him in my team atm, but like you, have my doubts because of his inability to break the tags he is certain to receive playing in a team like essendon. and like you its either him or pendles for me and i dunno...
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: elephants on March 24, 2010, 12:58:23 PM
pendles will get a definite tag after swans and stanton has prismall, watson and even winderlich to contest with cos stanton doesnt use the ball as well as these dudes
Title: Re: I have broken My golden rule
Post by: ACFC_10 on March 24, 2010, 11:29:22 PM
how about selwood!!! is a star and prbably wont get a tag all season with geelongs midfield
racks up the tackles and is capable of big scores.

also everyone would you mind helping me out a bit, i am stuck on this

goddard and trengove
or
selwood and waters

also zieball and franklin
or
ROK and ballantyne

please tell me your thoughts on these 2 combinations, thanks

get ball out NOW!!!

with 300k in the bank u need to upgrade some fwds but i suggest u wait 2 more rnds or so until stevie j or didak drop even more and then get on them.

how hv u used 4 trades already! - what were ur trades?
Title: Re: averaging about 2000 but needs help
Post by: elephants on April 19, 2010, 11:43:32 AM
okay...

i wanna trade ball for sure. who do you think?
ablett?
Swan?
Kornes and $?

yes the forwards need upgrading but i can see the price of cyril, gray, peterson, ziebell, ballantyne all going up so there will be good things to come from these guys. they all have low B/E too.

i have wasted my trades

Gia out Brown in ( bit of a sideways but i think brown has worked well with fev so far)

hall out dangerfield in (DUMB DUMB DUMB)

dangerfield out  Peterson in (not as dumb but i hate dangerfield for burning my trades:()

Volt out rioli in (okay i think rioli will come good. when you lose by 64 points you cant expect to be knocking up 100)

then

definitely ablett. Had others as captain in first 3 rounds (chappy, swan, bartel) until settled on Ablett in the 4th, and i should have started with him in the very first week. On current form if you have the money go for GAJ!

Swan will get more DT points across the season than Ablett.
Title: Re: averaging about 2000 but needs help
Post by: elephants on April 21, 2010, 11:03:50 AM
why do you think this prospector.

do you think he copes with the tag better?

do you think he has less compettition for possesions?

what is your reasoning behind this statement?

Title: Re: averaging about 2000 but needs help
Post by: Prospector_1 on April 21, 2010, 11:23:20 AM
Look at last year's stats. Ablett will miss a few games, Swan won't!

Across a full season, Swan will get you more DT points.
Title: Re: averaging about 2000 but needs help
Post by: elephants on April 21, 2010, 11:48:00 AM
okay thanks prspector yes ablett is more injury prone
Title: Re: averaging about 2000 but needs help
Post by: elxam on April 21, 2010, 01:10:26 PM
on current form you can't fault ablett but swan has shown to be more durable, though I doubt if Geelong will rest ablett this year because of the jam at the top of the afl ladder

kids like sidebottom have got more time at collingwood and with health shaw moving into the midfield there seems to be a little less tog for swan this year. this is only my observation
Title: Re: averaging about 2000 but needs help
Post by: elephants on April 22, 2010, 10:51:56 AM
steele sidebottom looked good and almost made my team due to his name(lol). cheers for the feedback guys and yep i think ablett will not be rested thankds elxam.

Sounds good but how many trades you have left? still 16 or less?

Kept gray for so long and trade him out first 2 weeks back. Could even do almost a straight swap for Davis this week if you want to save 50k or so.
Title: Re: averaging about 2000 but needs help
Post by: elephants on April 27, 2010, 05:32:31 AM
thanks HP i still have 16 and i want to save them i am thinking of keeping gray sice he ws thumped in the first week against the cats and then was in a scrappy game vs the saints. he has been unlucky to play gun teams in his comeback from injury. instead i may go banner out and lucas/JKT in???

waters (b/e 104) > webberly (b/e--)

and

martin (b/e 29) > hayes (b/e 87)

if i should do it when????? i will have 10 trades left after this and i dont plan on using more trades until round 13ish

Title: Re: elephants' team - trade advice?

i got 2131 this round and

i am doing ballantyne to hughes and martin to hayes, dal santo, gibbs, murphy most likely dal santo.then nason to webberly and maybe a forward upgrade like... gray/duncan to sylvia

am i better off going the two downgrades this week and the two upgrades next week? this will leave me with 8 :( trades with 12 weeks to go :(

thoughts???:)
Title: Re: elephants' team - trade advice?
Post by: Justin Bieber on May 18, 2010, 08:50:31 AM
Gotta get some guns up forward. Could get away with 1 more gun there.

Duncan seems the man to go as he may have lost his spot in the 22 with stokes back in.

2 downgrades this week could be done if you are sure you are going to win your league matches. Otherwise i suggest the 1 upgrade and downgrade. Thats the way i usually go to even it out.
Title: Re: elephants' team - trade advice?
Post by: elephants on May 18, 2010, 11:04:11 AM
yeah mate i have been thinking about this for ages :)

i want to get maybe sylvia in the next couple of weeks for robbie gray or ziebell (depending on scores in the midfield) so i can gun up my forwards a bit. this week i am thinking ballantyne to hughes and martin to a gun so my mids are set. i am happy with my backs and my ruck stocks. then i can use my remaing nine trades to gun my forwards. like gray/ziebell to sylvia

bottom line

martin to a gun

nason to a rookie

ballantyne to a gun

ducan to a rookie

thoughts???
Title: Re: elephants' team - trade advice?
Post by: Holz on May 18, 2010, 12:07:16 PM
i would say keep ziebel he could get some good scores with anthony out, im tipping him for 80+ the rest of the season, ballateyne i would say need to be droped. If he goes a game without a score he could get a super low score. At this stage of the season i only likely getting in superstars, so im not a fan of the slyvia trade i would go all out and get in pav or didak or if you want a cheaper premium maybee get in goodes.

guys i want danny hughes so my first trade this week will be balla/ duncan to hughes. my second trade could be duncan to goodes but then i will miss out on the chance to catch webberly. what should i do. i could get huhes and start gumby vs richmond? and who should i trade this week out of balla and duncan for hughes? it wont really matter because who ever doesnt go this week will go next week.

Look at who they are versing. Might help the decision.

In theory, would expect Duncan to get dropped when teams are named. Was just a fill in last round.

Any cash to play with?

8 trades doesn't leave alot to play with unless you don't mind lasting the last half of the year with not many trades (4 or so).

2 of those last 3 could be good 6th and 7th forwards.

Thought of downgrading a cash cow (maybe Hunt or Howlett/Webberly/Gumby) then could use 1 or more trades for upgrades?

Alot of trades to use but could help if you want?

With the amount of trades you have left you are going to run out very soon if you get LTI's or injuries.
