Title: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.
Post by: Donnie Brasco on April 15, 2014, 08:02:45 AM
28 trades left & $3100

Simpson Suckling Mitchell Enright McDonald Langdon  (Laidler Georgiou)

Ablett Pendlebury Beams Rockliff Tyson Polec Dunstan Ellis  (Aish Crouch)

Sandilands Leuenberger  (Thurlow King)

Parker Martin Roughead Dangerfield Higgins Caddy  (Rohan Kennedy-Harris)

Thinking...

Caddy > Fasolo
Leuenberger > Cox

Only leaves with a lousy $1000 though. Or should I downgrade to a Hampson, West, McIntosh, Simpson, etc. to make a little cash?

I'd love your thoughts guys!

This team seems to have very few problems - a rarity indeed.

Don't worry about the cash stash - your rookies are all making for you.

Lloyd is a great target if he performs this week.

Cox or maybe Jacobs - I personally couldn't do Jacobs again though. Also his round 8 bye is a worry if you add both Fasolo and Lloyd over the next two weeks.

What are you ranked?

Cheers Doc, not ranked great mate, only early 20s at this stage.

Nice Team with not a real lot wrong.

Wait for teams to be announced but I would do Berger to Hampson - Has a low B/e and will make cash for you till Maric comes back.
I would then go Thurlow to Currie for extra ruck coverage.  Currie will also make cash for you.

Next Week Rohan to Lloyd and Caddy to a prem forward that you can afford

Leaves you with 24 trades to watch cows mooooooo and then upgrade.

Thanks Ringo, makes sense, I've been worried about the rucks/ backup.

I have a sneaking suspicion your boys will knock us off this week, up there on your home turf.

Post by: Donnie Brasco on April 15, 2014, 04:05:14 PM
Bit worried mate, the 'Berger to Hampson and Thurlow to Currie trade' only leaves me with $57,000.

Won't both, Rohan and Caddy, lose money this week?
Title: Re: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.
Post by: Ringo on April 15, 2014, 04:26:35 PM
That is the risk you have to decide get rid of 2 falling players or strengthen rucks. Not easy but go with gut as to what is best long term for team.  Remember the saying short term pain for long term gain.

24 trades left & $408,000

i like dustan > watson
Swallow is fully priced. So can wait but it is killing me not having him too. You could downgrade Laidler to cutler to free up some more cash for the bye upgrades. Team looks in good shape though. Aish will make a heap over the next 2 so could upgrade him through the byes.
Title: Re: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.

Ha ha, I'm now looking at:

Dunstan > Hallahan
Rohan > Zorko

What do you think guys?
Title: Re: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.
Post by: Ringo on May 03, 2014, 09:51:49 AM
Sounds OK Just ensure Hallahan suits you bye structure though if you plan on maximising his price rise.

Zorko is a good trade but I am biased about him if you have followed all my posts on him.
Title: Re: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.
Post by: Donnie Brasco on May 03, 2014, 10:09:00 AM
Thanks Ringo, gathered you love Zorko.

Who would you trade out of McDonald (should make BE) vs Laidler (still a bit of money to make) this week, real toss of the coin....
Title: Re: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.
Post by: Ringo on May 03, 2014, 10:54:29 AM
McDonald is closer to ceiling than Laidler  and with the bye next week as well I would trade McDonald.  Just check to make sure it suits your bye situation though.  Need to consider the byes now for the next 3 weeks to ensure you have 18 players.
Title: Re: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.

Thanks again Ringo, to be honest, I'm not too fussed about the byes.

I just can't decide on which line to fix?

2441, very happy, apart from Mitchell.

22 trades left & $346,000

Simpson Suckling Mitchell Enright Langdon Cutler  (Laidler Georgiou)

Ablett Pendlebury Beams Rockliff Watson Polec Tyson Aish  (Crouch Robertson)

Sandilands Hampson  (Currie King)

Post by: Donnie Brasco on May 08, 2014, 06:02:54 PM
Does Mitchell have to go this week (McVeigh, Hibberd, etc.) or how about getting Swallow next week?

Should I keep Hampson? Crouch has to go... Acres, Hallahan or Hartung?
Title: Re: A wise guy's always right; even when he's wrong, he's right.
Post by: Gords on May 08, 2014, 06:09:01 PM
Well if you have the cash to go for Mcveigh then go for it. Also look at Birchall, since Smitch is gone, Birchall might have a better run and could score better. I'd look at Crouch to Hartung Which will free up alot of cash. Then with the cash left might upgrade one of your rookies.

Thanks mate. Thinking...

Crouch > Acres
Mitchell > Swallow
Rohan > Zorko

Leaves me with $200,000

Simpson Suckling Mitchell Enright Langdon Cutler  (Laidler Georgiou)

Ablett Pendlebury Beams Rockliff Watson Polec Tyson Aish  (Crouch Robertson)

Sandilands Hampson  (Currie King)

Didn't make any trades, was away and left it too late.

Ablett Pendlebury Beams Rockliff Watson Polec Tyson Aish  (Crouch Robertson)

Sandilands Hampson  (Currie King)

Parker Martin Roughead Dangerfield Higgins Kennedy-Harris  (Lloyd Rohan)

This week:

Robertson > Acres
Mitchell > Swallow
Laidler/ Suckling > Bartel

Rohan is a big worry!

Leaves me with 19 trades and a minimum of $200,000, depending on the Bartel trade.

Love your thoughts guys...

Post by: Ringo on May 15, 2014, 10:36:54 AM
Looks good.

As an alternative and not sure whether you have enough to do this.

Mitchell to Bartell
Robertson to Swallow via Langdon
Aish to Acres - (Aish has a high B/e as well and with the bye as well next week).

On the watch list for downgrades Shenton (gives you DPP), Morabito, Claye Beams, Charlie Cameron.

Next week some more upgrades.

BTW you are not alone with this weeks trades doing your head in.

Looking forward to watching Lennon play soon.

This week:

JKH > Cameron
Crouch > Selwood
Hampson > Jacobs/ Minson/ Goldstein/ Cox

Leaves me with 16 trades and a measly $88,000.

                      or

JKH > Cameron
Hampson >Jacobs/ Minson/ Goldstein/ Cox
Laidler > Hurn/ Jaensch

Which leaves me with $240,000.

Any suggestions lads?

Pic looks good ;)

I reckon I'll be doing JKH to Cameron this week as well
Crouch to Jelwood is a great trade, I got Jelwood last week, very happy with him so far haha
I'm also doing Hampson to Goldy this week (or possibly Minson). I'm just too scared of Jacobs after last year, and also his opposition rucks have been extremely easy this year, and I think he may struggle over the next 2 months

Can you do;
Crouch-->Jelwood
Hampson-->Goldy
Suckling-->Hurn

Then get Cameron next week?

haha doesn't mean I'm always right though man

How about Langdon to Jaensch and Cutler to Litherland.

IF Litherland is named he has a BE of -58 and expected to jump 46k next week.

Then next week Acres to O'brien and Lloyd to Zorko

That will leave just Tyson to upgrade which is nearly a sideways trade anyway

In fact... In 2 weeks time, Steve Johnson could cost the same as Tyson

Thoughts on Currie to Thurlow and CCameron or Rohan to SMartin? Then you have cover on both lines and it can push Higgins to the bench? Or look to upgrade one of your F7 or F8 to Wingard, again pushing Higgins to the bench to give you cover

Cheers Ric, very interesting...

So, don't finish my midfield yet?

How many trades do you have left man? Just think you need some decent cover on that fwd bench

Yeh ok still enough trades there. You also need to look to either upgrade Langdon, or upgrade Georgiou and push Langdon to the bench as cover. Infact that would probably be my main priority.

Ha ha, I don't have much cash mate, any suggestions...

Downgrade Higgins, I guess? McGovern, Martin?

Ok, how about:

Higgins > McGovern
Georgiou > McVeigh/ Smith/ Burgoyne/ Hibberd/ Hanley/ Mackie

Higgins > Martin
Georgiou > $516,00 defender

Still waiting for S. Mitchell to return soon, too...

Haha fair enough. How about the Cameron to SMartin and Currie to Thurlow this week, giving you ruck and fwd coverage. Then next week you can look at Litherland to Hibberd who has a big BE and should drop a bit.

Cheers Ric, makes sense, will do...

Rohan/ Cameron > Stefan Martin
Currie > Thurlow

leaves me 8 trades, $88,000 - 138,000 (depending on Rohan/ Cameron)

Higgins-->Kersten
Langdon-->McVeigh/Eski/Hurn etc

Then look at finishing your mids next week by dropping Walker and perhaps Cameron to a premo mid and Honeychurch

Cheers Lions, great stuff, much appreciated.

Kersten looks good and it seems it's his spot to lose...

Also mate, what are your thoughts on, next week:

Litherland > Z. Jones (if named for 3rd match)
Cameron > Gray

Personally I'd just go Langdon to Jaensch mate and then have a look at Kersten next week. Although I think Geelong will give him a good run so you should be fine even if you jump on early.

Probably aim to have Higgins as F7 though if you can. He'll be great cover for the rest of the year

Do you think you'll win your first final? I'd look into the matchups and see if you look like winning without making any trades
