New Delhi are coming off a rare win! And they run into Mexico City as its reward....
Tokyo look to upset Dublin, who were very impressive last week in a loss, while Dublin have #1 spot in its eyes.
Cairo would go in as favourites against PNL, but they will be nervous. It is 4th v 6th after all!
Seoul and Beijing has an interesting vibe to it.... the winner will be 2-2, which would be better than expectations.
The Warriors host New York, with the Revolution surprisingly finding themselves at 2-1. Wellington aren't too far away from a win, and this could be one of its better chances.
I don't think Pacific have much a chance against Buenos Aires... though the Armadillos were far from impressive last week and only won on home advantage.
Cape Town are 1-2, and the 2012 runners-up are on the precipice. While an injury ravaged Berlin need to win to get back in the 8. My match of the round.
The winless London host Moscow at home. Moscow look decently placed, while London are in wooden spoon calculations....
The winless Wolves face off against the 1-2 Pumas.... A loss to either here would be disastrous.
Getting in early once again:

Think for me this week it's just going to be a case of picking who has been selected for their sides rather than actually deciding between players. Last week I have 21 players take the field, but of that lot Smith and Adams have picked up 1 week suspensions and Masten is injured, which takes me down to 18. Then Ben Jacobs as a late replacement may get dropped back to the VFL with Ziebell back in the side and surely White will get dropped because he is useless! That leaves me with possibly just 16 players to choose from this week! :o
Welcome to our world Badge :P
Our forward line was a shambles this week but hopefully Caddy & Mayes can get back in form to complement the form of skipper Ollie Wines (who has taken over beautifully from Krooz) averaging 116, and the in-form defender of the comp Cale Hooker who is currently averaging 104. Keep it up boys!

dont think many would have picked the pumas to be struggling with depth issues.
Dublin is having problems of its own. Walters and Dixon now out from my forward line and with Rance maybee out again im down to 16 starter quality players. have 4-5 in the reserves but really dont want to play them.
Gee this really is a good week to play Berlin.
No Fyfe, Crouch or Steven for them.
If we can't win this one then I think our Top 4 hopes are definitely shot and our finals hopes will be hanging by a thread.
All these teams struggling is making for a quality lel.

Yes. Will be an interesting match, hopefully my inconsistent depth players all decide to play well this week :P

Yeah it's certainly something I'm not used to. Think last year I averaged 23-24 players a game to select from. It's really just the defense that is struggling at the moment with only 3 lining up last round (had 10 mids, 2 rucks and 6 forwards play). Waters out for the season, Whitecross in rehab from an ACL, Roberton ankle injury, Harwood not sure what's going on, McMahon out of favour. That's 5 defenders who would start in most teams each round if named. So frustrating at the moment. At least it's just the start of the season, so can surely only get better?

This just makes me cringe.
Last year whoever was named got to play for the Thunder. This year it's better, but only by a small margin :P
Haha no joke, Q. Last year was literally if you're named, you play, and Kreuzer you are captain.
This year we have a little bit more of a choice as to who we name (we can name a full emergency bench now :D) but still a bit of dead weight hanging around.

On a side note, along with Rich, Wingard is also out! At least Enright is back in and Dawes/Casboult are named so can step in...
Three changes this week after my first win of the season. Sam Jacobs and Zaharakis replace the suspended Smith and injured Masten, whilst it's a welcome return for defender Ryan Harwood who replaces the rubbish White. Zaha has been training with the defenders this week and we will be trialling him out there for this match.
Finally, only 19 players were named to play this week, with Liam Sumner the unlucky one not to make the subs bench.

Some big outs this week with Rich going down with a season ending Knee injury and Wingard out for an ankle injury :(. So Ball comes back in this week and Jones will be making his first appearance of the year after his solid week last week! Luckily Dawes/Casboult are also named as handy backups for Wingard if needed, but Dawes will be brought back slowly through Marseille. Grundy and Trengove have started the season so well, providing great depth but such a shame our top 4 now are pretty damn solid. I have no idea how to fit them in unless on the bench!

I have no idea who to captain this week.
Should I chuck it on Steven, and impose the sub rule just in case?
But what if he gets subbed in 3rd quarter :-\
Or he isn't quite up to his century getting standards?

But yeah, I hope this team does better since I need Lindsay to do well for BXVs (and because he's an ex-Cairene). :P

sub rule NOT in place. Have decided that a possible Steven sub score is better than my best emergency (Georgiou) can get, and I have commanded the rest of the team to not be subbed. So they should listen. I am their real coach.
Hibberd and Zorks to share the captaincy, Hibberd for his solid low-100 scores, Zorko for his potential to go nuts (but fail miserably). So there is security in that case.
Only 20 to pick from this week :(

The rule says "red vested in the first half", so down to interpretation on whether or not half time counts as the first half. So obviously ossie makes the decision, but I would say you probably do, although technically HT isn't in the first half in my opinion.

Boak 150 Gray 109 Rocky 113.

Really struggling at the moment sitting on 449/6. Paparone was awful after doing well last week, and Hartlett and Walker not up to their usual standards. Happy with Polec and Harwood. Wolves sitting on 782/7, so even a 160 from Ablett would see me behind with the same number played. Not good signs :(

Yes we are subbing.
1,430/12
Not bad. Disappointing from Hale after being on around 30 at QT. Poor Pacific.
If our 3 remaining score their average then we're looking at 1,748 which is okay I guess. Somewhat disappointed it isn't out record though.
Sam Gray 104 on debut for the ressies, might need to be upgraded & get a game next week ;)

1283/12 with both co-captains played so far.
Looking at another solid score despite some let downs such as Priddis, Lobbe/Harbrow/Rioli. Jones continues on his hot streak and Hoff did well in his CC job :D. Jones proved a solid choice as Wingard's replacement this week, although Casboult is pushing for selection next week after a solid showing for Marseille. Jaensch, Ray and Myers to come, could possibly be pushing for a score over 150 this week and looking good to take down a big scalp :).
New Delhi Tigers 596 8 (Captain to come)
Mexico City Suns 1023 10 (1 Co-Captain to come)
Suns will coast home....
Tokyo Samurai 934 9 (1 Co-Captain to come)
Dublin Destroyers 981 8
Tokyo putting up a good fight, and are still in the running, but Dublin still favourites
Cairo Sands 870 10
PNL Reindeers 1230 12
An upset on the cards, as PNL put its final credentials there for all to see.
Seoul Magpies 648 9 (Captain to come)
Beijing Thunder 1110 13
Well..... This looks like a disaster for Seoul, who lost to New Delhi last week.... How did they score 150 again? Not over yet, but ouch.
Wellington Warriors 758 11
New York Revolution 810 8
New York have this.
Pacific Islanders 612 8
Buenos Aires Armadillos 1430 12
Buenos Aires scare me just a little bit
Cape Town Cobras 1061 13 (1 Co-Captain to come)
Berlin Brewers 732 8 (1 Co-Captain to come)
Close! With Cape Town 329 points with 5 players more... Berlin should be favourites from here.
London Royals 450 6 (Both Co-Captains to come)
Moscow Spetsnaz 901 11 (1 Co-Captain to come)
This game still alive! If London's midfield get on top, we could have an upset here....
Sao Paulo Pumas 1052 10
Toronto Wolves 855 9
Pumas have the edge for sure, but stranger things have happened.

Just a question on how the sub rule works here for Beijing. Caddy started sub, so he is replaced by an emergency, but none of those are forwards. So does Toovey (1st emg) come on for half points? Also with Rosa pulling out it's a straight swap with Neale (2nd emg), but it's also possible for Aish to move to the mids and Toovey to the bench with Neale becoming the forward for Caddy at half points. So which way does it work? The way that gives them the most points?

Sub rule only works if he can be replaced by standard emergency rules, and since Caddy can't, he stays on the ground.
Toovey comes in for Rosa.
QuoteBuenos Aires scare me just a little bit
Awww, don't be scared Oss :(
We're a friendly bunch down at Buenos Aires. Kind of exciting the boys pumping out a good score once. Even better once you consider the fact we still have best XV players not in the team this week like Swan, Gilbert and Barlow.
Also waiting on Petrie to return to form and depth players like Sewell to return. If Sewell gets back and can average 75-90 then we can use him emg and rest one of our mids every single week :)

Hmm my additions had the Pumas finishing on 1606, but went through it again after os posted that score and I was wrong. Was out by 63 points, which is a very odd amount to be out by, since no one scored that for me to double up on...
