I have spent a very small amount of time, in the scheme of things, preparing a new logo. It's not that much different to the old one.
New:
(http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/images/logosmall_2014.gif) oops I mean (http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/images/logosmall_2014_2.gif) (see below)
Old:
The changes are merely a cleanup of the edges, so that there are only 6 colours in the whole image now, and a change in font from boring old Impact to the hot new DIN, which is what the menu is done in now. This makes the letters wider, but otherwise not much different.
Continuity is the key here, plus alignment around the DIN font, which as you may recall is the same one used on the MCG scoreboard. I haven't implemented it around the site yet, as I would like to get your feedback.
Do not mind the new one m0nty but graphics is not my strong point.
I like the new font and the bigger gap of the red outline above the letters but I really like the old yellow. The new yellow looks really dull to me. The old yellow makes the lettering standout more.

Yep, well said Valk. I feel the same.
Yeah, just noticed the yellow. That new yellow is the original one I was planning on using back in 2005, but I must have brightened it during the process. I think I'll brighten it again.
Yeah I agree, the new one looks good but use it with the new yellow. :)
OP updated with the new yellow.
Yeah, looks sick now m0ntz. 8)
Yeah that looks great
Reads/looks well M0nty. Will work fine.
What's with the Dark Side Of The Moon tab logo? ;D
Looks good m0nty, not a massive difference, but looks sharper.
Agree with the general consensus - looks nice and sharp m0nts 8)

m0nty, aren't you forgetting this thread...
Your new logo is still stuck in the 2000s, like your site and forum. Harsh but honest.
That's pretty harsh, if you don't like it that much then flower off. Could of said it more nicely.
Obviously Monty has put heaps into this site so get stuffed.
In saying that, I think the logo in the linked thread looks amaaaazing!

The advantage of stuff done in the 2000s is that it was simple, functional and lightweight. In the age of mobile browsing, keeping it light is more important than ever. Not everyone has limitless bandwidth.
I purposely don't allow things like images in signatures because that leads to unreadable pages IMO. Perhaps you could link to examples of what you're looking for in terms of forum design?
I am trying to update through embracing jQuery. It's not easy, but I'm working through it.
@monty - I assume you are switching to jQuery so you can improve (make easier ;) ) AJAX?

Not really, I have been trying to make the mobile version a lot better as the main improvement. It's a slow process.

Sorry mate, just to be clear. Is that logo in thread ruled out as an option?

I think so, yes.
Oh :( I really really liked that one, haha. Oh well!
The logo on my tab is now a triangle with a strike through it instead of the FF logo :P
Yeah I have that too
^
Me too so is this an issue m0nty or by design. If by design do not like it as it is just black and white and not easily discernible against other sites open on tool bar.
Ooh no, that's a bug, that is the SMF logo. I'll get onto that today.
Fixed. Tricky little one.
Thanks m0nty - now ok.
Sorry m0nty but seems to have reverted again today after being OK yesterday.
see, mine wasnt working yesterday, but it is now :P
I still have the triangle thingy...
Strange after having the triangle all morning now have the FF back - Thank you but hope it stays.
I feel left out, i want the triangle thingy
I've still got it as well.

Mine is back being the FF logo :)
Yeah mine is back as well. :)
I agreed what is said above!!!
Looking simple but nice.

I am totally agree with Ringo. Anyhow, overall graphics (http://www.letragrafic.com.au/services/graphic-design/) used there, not a bad. Like it.
