legend mate.
hoping to see Goodes' name here soon 8)
We will know tomorrow :)
Can someone clarify the rule with this rookie upgrade deadline.
I know it is tomorrow but is it for ANY rookie upgrade prior to round 1 or only for nominated rookies (those who have an extra spot on the list).
For example Goodes will obviously need to be upgrades today/tomorrow as he will fill a vacant spot but Mitchell will be promoted to fill a LTI so can the Power wait until a later time?
Slightly off topic but interestingly Buddha hocking was saying Sunday how Mitchell was a clear front runner but they were unhappy with his trial against West Coast. Certainly wasnt glowing about his chances of games.

This pretty much explains everything -

During the season rookies can be elevated at any time if a main listed player is placed on the LTI list. Also, in the past all teams were able to upgrade one rookie after the half way point of the season. Not sure if that is still the case but I'd imagine it is.
Justin Clarke and Brett Goodes have been elevated this morning
They are running it fine for time with a couple of these. ???

Petterd and Orren have just been elevated.

YAY I'm glad Petterd has been elevated. Not be in my dream team at the moment, but he might find his way in. Also like him as a player so glad he'll be in the yellow and black this year 8)
Great work Ric, fantastic job.

Hmmm I definitely think he can average 75+
also, the fact that he's been upgraded should release Newman up the ground and could average 85-90... @ 365k, he's great value :P

Nope, I highly doubt Orren will even play unless Maric needs a rest or something. Think Maric will still be one of the best ruck options available. 8)

Yeah I agree, if he plays that sweeping half-back role he will be a great option imo. 8)
Yep Newman is definitely one to consider! Playing off a wing he has looked very good!
So no Mitchell.

Pfieffer currently has a good hair pull hold on Mitchell and is not letting go until he surrenders the rookie elevation spot.
I don't think we will elevate anyone to be honest and wait to see how all 4 of our rookies are going in the magoos and make a decision mid year.
The team don't need any of the 4 just yet.

It can be done when they want.

Yes, it is a no brainer to have another player to choose at the selection panel. By mid-year, Salter will be off the long-term injury list anyway I thought?
Quote from the linked news article on Adelaide Now:

I think Armstrong has done enough to keep his spot, he looks likely to share the run out of defense with Eski, so could be a good pickup.
Rampe should also play, he will play in defense until Mattner/Smith come back, which means it will more likely be a lockdown role, and may only last 2-3rounds.

Yeah I saw a tweet about Mitchell going back on the rookie list, here it is:
Port Adelaide FC @PAFC 14h
Hinkley - With Salter coming off long term injury list, Mitchell goes back to rookie list. Great to know we have him ready if we need.
So Mitchell's gotta go if you have him now, could be a good downgrade option later in the season...
In other news, does this make Neadey a chance for green? ???
how will he be ready to play.... Local footy is nowhere near the standard of the AFL
Ready just like anyone else coming up from State footy???
I think its in reference to he has had some afl experience hes had a taste he is ready for more....if they upgrade him again he wont be a fresh face coming in for his first game

I think he was talking about Mitchell?
That's how I read it anyways lol :P
!!!
I think Hinkley is saying, despite Mitchell going back to the rookie list, it's good to know he will be ready to come into the senior side again should the need arise! ;)
Mitchell hasnt played a full game this season...
going to need at least a few weeks in the local league to get up to scratch in match practice
definately guys!!! Kenny H said in the A
Definately guys !!! Kenny H said in the Advertiser that Mitchell will be cruelly placed back on the rookis list
because of the return of Nick Salter from injury, making him unavailable for the away clash against Gold Coast
Ramsay was put on the LTI list the other day. Might open the door up for Kyle Martin.
Patrick Keane @AFL_PKeane
Collingwood has placed Jackson Ramsay on the long-term injury list, with no replacement named at this stage.
Rory Laird needs a mention. Upgraded to the Crows senior list.
SANFL scores this year - 90, 108, 94.
Lairdy is a gun!!
Lockity if he can break into the side consistently! 8)
Will update now :)
Williams and Austin upgraded last week
Also m0nty has a new thread which keeps up to date with these now.
