Title: Boyd vs Cotchin
Post by: lachie_001 on March 02, 2013, 12:42:00 PM
So in my midfield I already have GAJ, Pendles, Danger and Murphy. I can fit in either cotchin or Boyd, though I can pretty much afford any other midfielder minus swan but I thought I'd just narrow it down a bit but any other options are welcome :)

Cotch is cheaper and will score more  ;)

Boyd 114-117, Cotchin 108-112

Easy selection.

Boyd for sure. 31 disposals in a shortened game, enough said

boyd 115+ the last 3 seasons, cotchin had a breakout year, will he repeat.

Boyd the best DT player from last year, always plays and always scores. The price difference isnt much dont cheap out on quality.

thats why i have swan ablett pendles and boyd.

your taking a gamble on dnager dont take another one on cotchin.

Ok, I guess I was wrong, but Cotchin is still cheaper

Is there any better option than Boyd besides swan and ablett? I don't think beams will be able to maintain his average this year

Swan >= Boyd > Cotchin > Ablett

(from players mentioned itt)

(taking into account price, scoring potential and injury potential)

Swan >= Boyd > Cotchin > Ablett

(from players mentioned itt)

(taking into account price, scoring potential and injury potential)
Injury potential: Boyd=Cotchin=Swan>Ablett (but the difference amongst them is minimal)
Scoring potential: Swan125-130>Ablett125>Boyd115>Cotchin110
Price=Cotchin>Boyd>Ablett>Swan
Only someone as Jukes would put Cotchin and Boyd ahead of Ablett, but that is fine, the more people he can convince that Ablett is a dud, the better for me.

To get back on topic: Boyd much better than Cotchin

Would you prefer a player who retains his decent average or a player who falls 10 points to a decent average?

I agree, that is why I prefer Ablett

So is G. Ablett, M. Boyd, S. Pendlebury, P. Dangerfield, M. Murphy a good starting midfield, I think swans price will drop 100k before I pick him up

Tbh i think youve got more chance of meeting Megan Gale getting her number and hooking up than Swans price dropping a 100k mate. ;)

Nice pick man with Dangerfield, He is going to be a valuable unique since he lost his dpp and still will maintain a 100+ average

Go Boyd. It's just a safer choice and he is a proven premium whilst Cotchin's only reference is the 2012 season and I think Cotchin could potentially go further than Boyd but I still think it's very unlikely. I withdrew Cotchin from my squad for Pendlebury because of the risk that is entailed with Cotchin's post breakout year selection

Seriously how can you be sure that he will perform just as well as last season. There is no proof that he will. Boyd has scored 115+ averages over the past few seasons. I believe Cotchin should score 110+ personally but I'm not going to risk it at his price.

Trust me I won't be disappointed with either of those chances :-)

Thanks, I think your right, I also think Boyd will probably be more consistent anyway. Pretty much exactly why I have Dangerfield, and his price isn't to expensive considering I think he will average 110+

haha yeah $525k is a good price for what he will offer. Most people wouldn't be able to afford a M5 at that price. My M5 is Nathan Fyfe. I see Dangerfield as an upgrade target for one of my rooks. He would be a terrific M5 or M6. It's a really good pick mate :)
