Looks pretty good to me, I need some more research time. I know Finch is in dashing form, I've locked him in.

Starc ain't a good choice... Could get called up for international duty at any time. Steer clear mate.
Made my team, looks the goods. Not letting me join the private league though :-\

Good point. This better?

Yeah, i like it. Anyone know if England have any international games on during the BBL? I'm thinking about Matt Prior as my WK.
Looks like they have a couple.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/team/1.html?template=fixtures
Who is van Der gugten?
Fast bowler who played for NSW and also played for Holland.
This is my team, have spent a couple of hours on this with some research. Coupled with my general knowledge of cricket (far better than that of soccer!!) I have come up with this. I'll go through each player...
Batters:
Birt: Self explanitory. King hitter that was probably the best and most consistent batter last year.
D Hussey: The t20 king himself provides great value for 10k less that the top liners in Gayle and Warner. Also, he is named solely as a batter which means that he scores extra points for everything he does with the ball.
Gibbs: Great performer with a cool head. Provides rock solid reliability in my batting lineup.
Finch: Has been on fire lately. Has played for Australia in the t20 format so knows what he's doing. Should be in every team.
Maddison: At this stage his position in my team isn't locked, but he looks great value. Watch his form in other formats first.
All Rounders:
John Hastings: My smokey. Had cemented a position the ODI team until he went down with injury a few years back. Has started like a house on fire in the shield with his bowling. Great value and one I consider to have the most potential to turn into a premo.
Dominic Thornley: An old timer way underrated in his price. Can pump out a big score when he wants to. Simply a bargain.
Wicketkeeper:
Brad Haddin: Looks like the best Wicketkeeper option as Wade has taken his spot in the main game. Has a point to prove and should fire for his own sake.
Bowlers:
Clint McKay: A proven performer. Enough said.
Brad Hogg: Has nothing else better to do with his time so we know he'll play every match!! An absolute legend and proved he has still got it from his International performances.
Scott Coyte: Looks really good value for money and therefore locked in. A quality bowler that will do the job.
Timm Van Der Gugten (12th man): A Dutch fast bowler who has played international cricket. Not sure yet, but will get a opportunity to impress.
I will join! Making my team now
Tried making a team several times both yesterday and today but Fox Sports was intent on not letting me. Got three quarters of the way through it multiple times only for it to reset itself and have me start from scratch again. I endeavour to make a team, just hoping it lets me unlike these past two days.
Spinner Fawad Ahmed given permission to play in BBL. Has been helping the Aussie team out lately so if he is priced under 60k, which is almost certain, could be a great pickup. He is a Pakistani refugee for those who haven't heard of him.
There's also this fantasy comp: http://fantasy.bigbash.com.au

Hi
I've just joined too if that's ok.
Was ranked 1st ,half way thru last bash
fantasy season but fell away. So am keen to go well.
Team name is 'any ability?'
Guys, I believe that the official comp is looking better to me so dare I say it my focus will be on preparing for that. My Fox Sports team will be a bit if a knock around, experimental one.

I like your side Popey, mines pretty close. Have thought about POD's.
I have change mine bit now and have what feels like more balance. Not finished yet so I will post my team soon.
What are everyone's thoughts on Chris Rogers? Will he get a game at the Thunder and how might he go?

Mate the Fox leagues are never ending... No limit on how many there are. The more the merrier!!
And on another note: The 'write ups' I promised aren't worth posting now... The ones at Supercoach HQ are twice as good!

Thought so, but for some weird reason I felt there was a limit.
Thoughts on this squad lads?
BAT: Birt
BAT: Gibbs
BAT: Shah
BAT: Quiney
AR: Wright
AR: Botha
WK: Triffitt
BWL: Hogg
BWL: Coyte
BWL: Richardson
BWL: Rimmington
12M: Maddinson
I'm in! ;D
Yeah, it's ok. A few things I'd like to point out, 1) Birt is really struggling lately on the domestic scene, I'm steering clear. 2) Everything is a rabble out West so be wary of picking too many Scorchers players... In saying that, Hogg is a bargain and should be pounced on. 3) I am lead to believe Wright will miss alot of the tournament... Not sure when, whether it be start or finish, but I am pretty sure he may be on international duty.

Thanks mate, I'll chop and change it now.
Also, I love how basically everyone but JROO has their name. :P
Kieron Pollard worth $120K?
Thoughts on this side?
Batsmen
Travis Birt
David Hussey
Aaron Finch
Rob Quiney
Jonathon Wells
All-Rounders
Dan Christian/Steve Smith/Moises Henriques (which one?)
James Faulkner
Wicketkeeper
Peter Nevill
Bowlers
Brad Hogg
Ben Cutting
Michael Beer
12th Man
James Muirhead
Hoping Wells gets games early on because with Ponting now committed to the Hurricanes, Wells' chances might slip a bit... Hopefully he goes up so I can upgrade him to Maddinson
I have a couple of options though with my side
Do I go with:
1) Birt and Faulkner
2) Gayle and Abbott
Thanks
Alright, im in :p
D.Hussey
A. Finch
H. Gibbs
J. Wells
R. Quiney
D. Christian
M. Henriques
B. Haddin
M. Beer
S. Coyte
B. Cutting
T. Van Der Gugten
missing the big stars but i think im kinda strong across the board....we shall see how it pans out :p
Anyone know where we can get official starting lineups?
My one pet hate in any form of fantasy is having a starting side people not playing...
This is my side:
Batsmen
David Warner - is only playing one game so i will trade him to Travis Birt afterwards (i'm not sure about Birt playing against Dale Steyn in round 1).
David Hussey
Faf du Plessis - also only playing one game so i will trade him to Marlon Samuels when he starts playing.
Aaron Finch
Usman Khawaja
All-Rounders
Sean Abbott
Luke Wright
Wicket Keeper
Brad Haddin
Bowlers
Michael Beer
Scott Coyte
William Sheridan
Twelfth Man
Timm Van Der Gugten
Jackson bird is the favourite at 4$ to be leading wicket taker for the carnival. What the koala is a Jackson bird. Is it a Shane warne delivery?
Jackson Bird? Only one of the brightest fast bowling prospects in the country. Maybe as good as anyone on his day. I am trying to fit him in my team right now.
Darren pattinson and brendan drew both underated and cheap quicks
Will Jackson Bird fit into the Stars bowling line up? The already have Clint McKay, Shane Warne, Lasith Malinga and James Faulkner.
Also when do they announce the teams for each round?

Ok popey. Ya weren't happy about my Shane warne joke but help me out here anyway. Which two.
1.Hopes as my all round cover and putland/cutting as my 4th bowler or
2. Obrien as all roun cover and bird as my 4th bowler ?
Anyones thoughts appreciated

Def Hopes, Cutting and Putland. Definitely. Hopes may turn not the biggest cash cow of the tournament and Putland and Cutting are on fire. But Bird is an absolute gun and should be tried to be fit into most teams.

while putland is on fire in the other forms of cricket he is quite expensive at times in t20 and remember that darren berry builds t20 teams around spin. With Richardson and Tait in the strikers line up, possibly neser and pollard, this might see Putland on the outer. Richardson Tait, Pollard, Neser, Botha, Ajmal are all bowling options

Ajmal is only there for one game because Pollard (I think) isn't playing first up. Saw it on the news the other day.
Bird, Putland and Cutting - if you had to pick 2 who would you get?

Look, probably all three! I would say Cutting and Bird, just because they are both a little more proven in this form, but don't get me wrong, Putland is great value. Another thing, Cutting has the Scorchers (a rabble!!) and Putland has the Hurricanes (one of the strongest batting lineups, so much so that Blizzard may struggle to get a game).

I'd go Bird and Cutting, like Popey said, they're a better chance for games/points than Putland.

Yeah, he'll miss the first, but I'll be looking to get him in after that as I think he should slot straight into the Stars XI.
Just so everyone knows, no Pakistani players will be playing Big Bash as the PCB has withdrawn them from the competition. Also Dale Steyn will not play any games as the South African Board has withdrawn him also to play domestic in South Africa.

Same, I'm Star-heavy as well. Got Quiney and Faulkner and I'm thinking of getting a Stars bowler in too, but I might have to wait until after Round 3 to get one in. However, with Faulkner being an allrounder, I might not have to worry.
As much as I love Krejza, I'd go Coyte, he's cheap as and should score well.
I have Hastings, Hussey, Hamdscomb, Hodge, Faulkner and Quiney.........
stars have got the double gameweek in round 2
why not be stars heavy
