Back: Grimes, Gibbs, Heppell, Bock, Russell, Watts, Otten, Pittard, Colqahoun - three guns and some great value picks
Mids: Murphy, Redden, Dangerman, Cotchen, Ball, Viney/O'Meara/Crouch/Wines - Four young stars and saving money
Ruck: Mummy, Leuey, Vardy, Grundy - three playing seniors and Mummy to hit back at that price!
Fwds: Buddy, Wright, Bennell, Martin, Knights, LeCras, Staker, Morton, Ben Kennedy - good value in mid-prices
So there's like 100-200k left but I like this team, truth be told I will struggle not to put in Tex, Mummy at the price and he saved my after Sandi went down, Wright to do a Sidebum, Redden and Danger to step it up, Pittart, Staker, Bock, LeCras back from injury to keep or make money, Otten to step up in 2013, ... Defence: Good line up you have, Heppell should improve now that he is going to spend more time in the midfield. Hartlett didn't pop up in the defence selection for me which is strange. Will become our general down back and be one of the premium defenders next year.
Mids: Solid only doubt would be Crouch, Might find it hard to see majority game time in a packed mid. Redden is a good selection has been a hot and cold dream team player should find constancy next year.
Rucks: Standard having both Goldstein and Daw is a smart move.
Forwards: Don't like Johnson next year in Dream Team will see less midfield time which could result in a lower DT average, Broughtan will bounce back after a difficult season playing out of position, Macaffer and Morton are gutsy selections.
Final say: Having 2k left in the kitty could be a bit dangerous 8/10
Backs : Bryce Gibbs (B/M), Grant Birchall, Domenic Cassisi (B/M), Reece Conca, Daniel Nicholson (B/C), Matthew Jaensch (B/F), Nathan Bock (B/F); Bench : Luke Davis, Luke Brown

Defence: Russell should come into the Pies lineup and be the run out of defence they have wanted since Davis left they tried with Clarke, Buckley and Yagmoor who all failed. Russell could be different. Does Otten still fit in the Crows best 22 can't be the best judge of this risky pick coming off several injuries. Picking Watts is risky.
Mids: Different midfield no doubt may struggle at times without the names of Beams, Ablett, Swan alike. Like you did say though you do want to save money solid rookies. Ball should bounce back
Rucks: Does Vardy still become a good option with the recruitment of McIntosh is at a tricky price
Forwards: Knights should fit in well at tiger land, Love the selection of Wright. Martin hopefully to reach the premium status showed glimpses of it than struggled with constancy, Kennedy scored the most DT points in the U/18 Carnival and will be a good pick next season.
Final Say: With a few gutsy picks and a unique midfield could smell disaster i think you will do well and with the cash left over early upgrades might be on the cards if you can avoid the injuries 7/10

Cash : 130,500
Defence: Solid defence like the selection of Docherty now with the retirement of Drummond chances of him debuting increases is fighting with several others for that spot though.
Mids: Having Beams is a good choice the DPP status Kennedy has will be vital throughout the season, Crouch may be your riskiest pick there, Starting with 5 rookies in your midfield could end up bad. High reward with an even higher risk.
Rucks: Standard can't fault
Forwards: Solid like eh selection of Rockliff will be in the top 5 forwards next year, Popular selections all around.
Final Say: Good team only fault would be your 5 rookie midfield not a huge fan of that but with starting with possible 16 keepers is a good choice. 7.5/10

Cheers Nozsta, I plan to get Ablett, Swan, Buddy and Goddard cheaper as up-grades and these youngstars get me my points, with the savinis in the mid the extra forward and back should make up the weekly points difference I'm hoping, well I do like to gamble on youth and value!

CASH LEFT: $11,600
Defence: Solid like the selection of Pedersen seems to be in most of the teams at the moment hard to pick him won't play forward which he did at Kangaroos due to the tall forwards Dawes and Clarke up there already, Will play a few games forward but wouldn't expect too many.
Mids: Risky again with 5 rookie mids, Don't like the selection of Crouch due to the packed adelaide midfield, I see Swan dropping off a bit next year still should be up there with the best mids though.
Rucks: Again similar to the majority of teams
Forwards: I like it you have gotten 2 of the most frustrating picks of 2012 in Broughtan and Rockliff should reward you nicely hard to tell what role Broughtan will play at Gold Coast
Final Say: You may find it hard to field a full team at points during the year especially in the mid Whitfield and Toumpas will most likely go to GWS could get lost in the GWS rookie shuffle, Crouch as well down at Adelaide, Docherty no certain to step into the Lions team come round 1 as well battling with other guys to fill the gap left by Drummond and as i previously stated Pederson may find it hard to crack into the team. 7.5/10

Forwards : Matthew Pavlich, Jack Riewoldt, Jarryd Roughead (R/F), Taylor Walker, Robbie Gray (C/F), Mark LeCras, Mark Nicoski; Bench : Brent Macaffer, Brent Staker
Defence: The selection of Cassisi is interesting would rather see Hartlett back there, Nicholson and Jaensch can be a success or a massive failure, Jaensch is battling a few other guys for his spot. Conca should reach a new level. Davis and Brown are questionable rookies.
Mids: Will Thompson maintain his high average as the blokes around him improve, Ball and Embley coming back from injury can Embley get back to his best at 31, Stevens is a good pick the successor of Boyd. Still not sure about Crouch would rather see another young rookie in there apart from Crozier, Can he still get game time with other free rookies banging on the door.
Rucks: Standard
Forwards: Think Gray may start of quite slow and not get back to his best until mid season, Nicoski may struggle to get back to his 2011 form. LeCras could be the pick of the year. Can Macaffer get back into the pies best 22
Final Say: Not after many first year players which could be a problem Might need another premium mid having one of Ablett, Swan, Beams and Pendles may save you a lot of time later on. 6.5/10

Defence: Like i have stated previously Pederson may find it a bit hard to get into the demons best 22 week in week out, First team ive seen with Ballard in so far neat player and with the DPP could turn into a handy DT selection.
Mids: Like the selection of Redden. Ablett, Cotchin and Pendles solid selections, Macrae may struggle to get games early on depending on which team he goes too will be a good player once he gets going.
Rucks: Standard
Forwards: Intresting selections there with Stanley and Treloar, Treloar may not improve majorly on his 2012 average could reach 85-90 but wouldn't expect much more. Stanley could be a nice POD. Don't like Johnson next year, Stringer is a beast and well worth the selection.
Final Say: Like your team could very well have 17 premiums in your team right now. 8.5/10

Rucks: Like the selection of McEvoy will his input drop with the recruitment of Hickey
Forwards: Again i like it, Gray and Johnson are questionable picks for my liking. Varcoe could struggle to get in the cats best 22 come round 1 and Tom Lee may struggle with games with Kosi and Riewoldt in the line up may be behind a few other falls at Saints
Final Say: Overall i like your team your rookie selections are questionable but could pay off. 8/10

I'd get rid of Monfries, replace him with Luke Ball/Andrew Embley Use the spare cash to uprade a forward mid pricer to a premium.
I like the Dangerfield pick, but Murphy may be a safer choice.
Bock may not play round 1 so keep an eye on him.

It would appear I don't know much about him either as I didn't even know he was in my team ::) I meant to pick T.Smith who was 3 players down. Ooops.
I am playing around with downgrading Murphy to Ball and then upgrading Pedersen, and one of those 3 midpriced forwards to premos.
You raise a good point about Sylvia, I shall have to watch him in the Nab.
Thanks for the comments :)

Osborne could actually be a very astute pick, mature age half-back from the VFL who has dominated and will probably be in the first couple of VFL guys who gets picked up, depending where he goes and if hes likely to play could be a very good pick down back, one to watch for sure

Defence: Good to see a team with Tanner Smith in there may slip past the first round which would make him a great cheaper option, Should see game time early next year whether he can maintain selection is another thing. Bock should get back to his best.
Mids: Starting Varcoe in the mids is questionable would select him in the forward line only but thats just me, Risking a lot on the comebacks of Ball and Embley, Ball should get back to his best does Embley still have it but at that price can't go wrong.
Rucks: Gone the set and forget combo, Cox may spend even more time up forward now that Lynch has gone, Will be 31 next season will be a massive ask for him to continue his excellent Dream Team scores. Should still average a nice score.
Forwards: May struggle to field a starting forward line here, Staker should walk in then question marks surrounding the next 3 , Who knows if Hird would want to persist with the Hurley, Crameri and Daniher at stages during the year, Macaffer will try to show us he can still crack it in the pies best 22 now that younger guys are passing him, Kerridge is in a revolver door at adelaide for a couple of spots.
Final Say: Overall a nice team not a host of players who had severe injuries in the 2012 season no different than any other team though. 8./10

Forward: Really good hasn't backed Franklin and the pick of Cloke takes a lot of balls maybe a better option than Morton if Swans get Tippett Morton may find it even hard to crack into the Swans lineup especially with Rohan coming back from injury and the emergence of Jed Lamb.

Jack Grimes, Bryce Gibbs, Paul Duffield, Greg Broughton, Nathan Bock, Cameron Pedersen, Sam Colquhoun
Tanner Smith, Jackson Thurlow
Gary Ablett jnr, Jobe Watson, Marc Murphy, Luke Ball, Andrew Embley, Travis Varcoe
Jaeger O'Meara, Jack Viney
Dean Cox, Todd Goldstein
Matthew Leuenberger, Brodie Grundy
Lance Franklin, Danny Stanley, Clancee Pearce, David Zaharakis, Mark LeCras, Joe Daniher, Sam Kerridge
Brent Macaffer, Brent Staker
Thanks mate, yeah with the rucks went a solid set after this years miserable setbacks. Had Varcoe in the mids mainly for that C/F link unless there is anyone better for that spot? I think Embley should be good. Came back with a 94 and some other decent scores late this year so I think he should be good and slot back onto the wing.
Def: Gibbs, Heppell, Broughton, Houli, S Dempster, H Taylor, A Rance. 2 Rookies
Mid: Ablett, Boyd, Cotchin, Pendlebury, Stanton. 3 Rookies
Ruc: Goldstein, Leuenberger. 2 Rookies
Fwd: Robinson, Zaharakis, Christensen, Le Cras. 5 Rookies
$1.25 mill left to spend on the 12 rookies.
Looking to keep the same backline for the whole season.
Will be upgrading Stanton to Swan when he runs out of petrol.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Brendon Goddard, Jack Grimes, Bryce Gibbs, Pearce Hanley, Nathan Bock, Cameron Pedersen, Lachlan Plowman
Sam Colquhoun, Tanner Smith
Dane Swan, Gary Ablett jnr, Matthew Boyd, Patrick Dangerfield, Angus Monfries, Oliver Wines

Nic Naitanui, Matthew Leuenberger
Majak Daw, Jarrod Witts
Lance Franklin, Matthew Pavlich, Harley Bennell, Chris Knights, Robbie Gray, Mark LeCras, Jake Stringer
Clay Cameron, Tim Membrey
First time DTer. Thoughts/opinions?
Defence: Solid can't fault that right now, Would have to wait and see with the Pederson pick depending on what role Neeld has in store for him as he won't survive as the clubs back up ruck man come forward
Mids: Better options than Monfires with the M/F DPP Monfries doesn't score a lot of 100s and won't raise a lot in price. Rookies and premiums are fine.
Rucks: Standard Naitanui to take his game to a new level
Forwards: Bennell may be more suited for Supercoach but still is a good pick in DT, Can see Knights having a good year, Don't like the selection of Gray may not get back to them good scores until half way through the season but will continue to make money along the way, Cameron may struggle for game time might not score high as well.
Final Say: Apart from being picky about some selections i do like your team, Could possible have 16 keepers which is good. 8/10

The updated version.
Defence: Murphy will have the same input as Warnock did in his first year at GC will get game time however but his scores won't be justifiable with his price.
Mids: More solid midfield than the first draft i like it
Rucks: Standard
Forwards: Risking a lot here Staker coming back from 2 knee reconstructions may take a while to get match fitness back DPP will be vital though, Cameron fighting with a few others for the 2 key position roles up forward, I believe Stringer would of gone pick 2 if he didn't break his leg.
Final Say: I actually like your first team a bit better forwards may need a bit of work 7.5/10

Thanks for your thoughts.
Defence: Look for Demspter to have more of a lock down role with less freedom now that Goddard has left could average the same though, Rance should improve with taking the 2nd or even 3rd best forward at stages, Might need another premium down there if you want to keep it the same all season.
Mids: The Stanton debate could go on for weeks may find some consistency with the recruitment of Goddard a 110-115 season average isn't impossible for Stants. Gone 5 premiums which is different than most can't fault that though.
Rucks: Goldy/Leuey combo is standard
Forward: All 4 forwards here suffered severe injuries at times this season, Playing 3 rookies in the forwards may be disastrous in past seasons though there are good forwards in this years draft which could pay off.
Final Say: Hard to give a rating without the rookies but those will come later during the nab cup, Not a huge fan with the defence and forward combos you have. 7/10

Sam Rowe f/r, Brent Staker b/f
Salary cap remaining .......$214,400
Defence: Like the pick of Duffield should get back to his 2010/11 best, Will Lake be able to play like he did at Bulldogs with the freedom, Should relish in the Hawks defence with the running game style.
Mids: Good midfield the Ball/Embley combo seems to be quite a popular choice and quite right so, Crouch fighting for a spot in the crows midfield has already been in the system for a year body ahead of a few guys already.
Rucks: Standard
Forwards: Different forward line than most, Rocky should average 100+ Roughead and Cloke should have nice averages hard to tell with Broughtan, Gray will be a slow starter but once he gets going will give you some nice returns and LeCras will be the pick of the bunch. Hopefully Rowe can come back from his unfortunate case of cancer and get back to his best.
Final Say: Have done really well to make that team and have that much amount of cash left over which will be useful for an early upgrade or two. 8/10

Thanks for the review Noz, much appreciated mate.
l'd like to think that the team will line up like this, but just cant see it happening really......l think players like Ball, Embley, Lecras, Gray and maybe even Menzel will probably be starting at higher prices than are listed on fanplanner at the moment.
l'll just go through some of my thinking with some of my picks.....
Backs:
Lake.....he should fit in nicely with Hawthorns possession style of play out of defence, and will revell in having players like Birch and Suckling to play kick to kick with
Pederson.....he was recruited for a reason and if he does well in pre-season could well end-up a 22 game player
* and l like both for their f/b status and the flexibility it'll give with Broughton and Staker in the Fwd line. Broughton will end-up being swung back into defence later in the season, and either Staker or Pederson could be a D7 keeper if they play well enough (and if not will be upgraded to Birchall, Scotland, Waters etc.)
Mids:
Dont need to explain anything there.....but Viney could end up being changed to another of the many excellent prospects from the draft
Rucks:
Cookie Cutter, but good value and should do well......but Grundy is still on the radar
Fwds:
Have explained the thinking behind Broughts and Staker.
Robbie Gray, hmmm well pre-season will have a big say there, but if he starts in good form he'll be in.
Roughead, for his r/f flexibility and the fact that he holds his position on scoring alone.
Sam Rowe is there for the r/f flexibility and because of Malthouse's liking for a forward who can swing into the ruck.....again pre-season will tell the story there. But if that doesnt pan out l'll look at available rookies or might even include Varcoe for his excellent value. l know its alot of money to be sitting on the bench but it could pay off bigtime when upgrading, he'd be put on the ground and the new rookie'd be straight to the bench.
So there it is.....my thinking behind alot of my selections
The only problem with Rowe is he is behind Kruezer, Warnock and Hampson who can all play that R/F role you may find it difficult to get games out of him in this case. However if you are set on Rowe perhaps putting him on the ruck bench may be better from
A strategic point. His DPP status can go well with a Daniher.

he'd need to play well in pre-season and be named rnd 1 for me to have him in my team, which is pretty unlikely in the grand scheme of things.....but l already have Daniher and Roughead for f/r flexibility anyway.......so l'd be looking at a player who l think'll get games and make some money if it didnt happen

Defence: Like the selection of Heppell and Hanley i reckon they can repeat there 2012 output and perhaps go a bit further, Duffield in for a good year and Gibbs to be one of the best players in 2013 (My opinion) Rookie picks are sound.
Mids: Solid Swan may drop of a bit but still a reliable pick
Rucks: Stock standard
Forward: Selection of Lewis and Robinson are interesting, Expect a similar output from Lewis and who knows how far Robinson can go under Mick, Mayes should get game time if drafted to Port. Cameron may struggle for opportunities
Final Say: I actually like your team not to much to pick apart from omission of Franklin is interesting but still a good team 8/10

Backs: Like the selection of Golby with the retirement of Drummond Golby will require to have more and more responsibilities next year in DT points. Morris won't ever get back to his best but he was never a huge DT scorer better options out there i reckon.
Mids: Gaff to take his game to a new level whether he can become a keeper is another thing, Ball one of the picks of the year and rookies are solid
Rucks: H Mac set to get back to his best at the cattery if he can stay injury free, Other picks are justifiable
Forward: Don't like the selection of Waite has only played 1 full season and 47 games in 4 years i wouldn't trust myself picking him. Lee will get game time probably not enough to be justifiable as a rookie pick, Cloke to bounce back to his best
Final Say: Some unique picks Waite stands out the most there are better options then Waite though overall i would give this team a 6/10

Mids: The selections of Duncan and Varcoe are unique no doubt especially starting Varcoe on the field i reckon move him to the forward line if your that down for starting him.
Rucks: Will Graham hinder Maric's DT output? Unlikely look for a similar output maybe dropping a few points
Forwards: Don't like Johnson for DT next season, Gray has a setback to the 2013 season after injuring his calf, Treloar to be one of the best giants next season. Lecras the pick up of the season.
Final Say: Unique picking don't like Varcoe in the mids some good picks however 7/10
