David Mundy - Fremantle Dockers
Position: MID
Price: $414,100 (Fanplanner)
2011 Games: 12
2012 Games: 20
2011 Average: 96 (averaged 106 in 2011 before going down with an injury)
2012 Average: 88
Interesting Stats: I have done some research into games where fyfe was fully fit in the team and the affect on the scoring of Mundy.
2012 average without fit fyfe: 78 average from 14 games. low:53 high:111 (2/14) 14% chance of 100+
2012 average with fit fyfe: 112 average from 6 games. low:76 high:130 (5/6) 83% chance of 100+
Summary: The above stat shows it, when fyfe and freo are up and running he can score right up there with the best. You would never have him captain and you may not want him to be in your finishing teams but could be that great stepping stone to a Swan who costs 220k more. I expect a rise of 100k and if your looking for a cheap premium he is your guy. He and David Swallow are the only guys who arent a super premo or a rookie im looking at in the mids.
Holz's Prediction: 105 average + 100k - Could be that unique that puts you ahead of the pack if you have the guts

There are about 10 mids im considering for my top 4 mid spots, he is one of them. I want him depends if I have the guts to pick him. Lock in my SC though. Probably 33% in DT
Good research. Dont have the guts to pick him..
Great write up, But too risky for me.
SC Gun. Maybe not so much for DT but definitely worth considering.
The more I look at him...414k for a proven 100+ scorer is hard to ignore :-\

Good thing we can watch him in the finals. 88 is not bad for finals football 9th highest DT score is pretty decent.
Him and Barlow are both underpriced I think, I've probably got to have Barlow a bit ahead of him though. Worth considering for sure, thanks for the write up ;)
Not on my radar, just too risky.
Second biggest score tonight in a low scoring DT game. He is definitely a good pick question is do I have the guts?

Barlow at a 96 average. Mundy 88 so your going to be paying a decent amount more for Barlow.

i agree, he absolutely dominated!
first-class service from sandi helps as well-do you reckon there's a correlation there as well Holz? Like mundy's scoring increases when Sandi is playing? Just seemed like that anyway, he had so many clearances last night!
Could be an interesting unique.
Was a clearance machine last night! Too bad you dont get extra points for them
Quality player (and bloke, I've met him ;D)
Was on the brink of premium 1-2 years ago but not for me.
Ask me next Tuesdy (eh, get it?)
was at the game last night - easily the best mid out there, worked absolutely wonderfully with sandilands

With Sandi Mundy and no fyfe in the sqaud he we 49 89 69 83 53 76 than sandi had that big break and in the last 3 games he went 130 125 111 with sandi mundy and fyfe in the sqaud.
To me it looks like fyfe has more of an effect. But if sandi and fyfe are up than mundy looks like he should dominate. The fyfe thing could just be a coincidence, but the numbers are starting to stack up. Mundy exploded in fantasy last year when fyfe stepped up to a top level player.
If freo are fit and up and running than this guy is a great pick.
Once again had a good game last night. Really looks good.
Why did you guys take Barlow over Mundy in Asians then? Age?

And we were going to take Mundy next pick... Why did you take Barlow pick 2 then change? ::)

yeah age, IM tipping Mundy to be top 20 in the comp. But all lez's players are 24 or under.

We wanted a top fwd....but now Fyfe's gonna be a pure MID and flower everything up.

Great stats Holz!
You get a cheer for that :)
Freo looked good in the finals. If they keep form Mundy will too.
Murphy has just made way for Mundy :o
I may be biased, but he has proven he can average 105+ and is priced at 88. Great stepping stone for a super premo or could even end up a keeper if he repeats 2011 form.
So tempting being a Freo supporter...will keep an eye on NAB form.
Tempting. Doesn't fit with my structure but you've made a convincing argument.
Think Holz makes a good point too. Questions though would be the number of weeks that Sandi / Fyfe / Mundy are likely to miss. Sandi in particular has always looked close to a visit to the drs recently...
He's in... M5
