Hi All, I am pleased to announce the thread I ran this season on player research will return ahead of the 2013 season.
I am even more pleased to announce that NOZ will be my partner in crime in this thread and also in the ROOKS Write Up Thread.

What Noz and I would like to know is how the thread can be improved for next season, if you have any ideas or requests for making the thread better please let us know.
We have several ideas in mind already to further enhance the research thread including indexing and statistics, including FULL NAB CUP scoring updates on player profiles and MUCH MORE.
The past two seasons have been a delight and a breeze in locking in a full compliment of rooks guaranteed to start and play regular games in the 2 expansion clubs, BUT in 2013 we return to a normalised draft and picking the right rooks and low priced players will be a VERY important and tricky part of the season.
We are hoping to be able to make these choices a lot easier and to provide research and profiles on any and all players requested accross the pre-season and full season for the FF community.
So please let us know anything you think can improve the threads in 2013 and we will be sure to take all suggestions on board.

Very good news for us FF'ers. Noz will be a good addition. When do you plan on kicking off ? After round 23 ? After GF ? After draft(s) ?
My only suggestion is that maybe both of you can write a small opinion paragraph and rating at the end of each piece like you did last year Colli. Would be interesting if you guys largely agree or have differing opinions in players.
that sounds good, i think we can amnage that and am certain we will have many different opinions :)
plan on starting it straight after the drafts as that will make relevant who the players are we are looking at.
will likely start off with the draftees, until the requests start coming in, the important upgrade will be guaranteed edits to add in Nab Cup data and player updates as situations change.
will also try to make the indexing a lot easier alphabetically halfway through the year was A LOT of effort as it was, but i think by team and alphabetical will make it that much easier.
Noz has a lot of ideas so we will take feedback and work out how to best serve the communities needs.

Looking forward to the challenge, I managed to do a few Rookie researchers throughout the past couple of weeks but i believe with some more experience under my belt and working with CW i believe together we can be a great duo and help many coaches choose the best available rookie and provide you with great research to the player you requested.
As CW said we will be starting straight after the drafts as they wouldn't seem to be many requests coming towards the later part of the season, Never the less if you require a research on a player ask us and we will deliver.
As to your question Scrads, That does seem like a good idea we will write a paragraph on what we think there job security is like, scoring capabilities, Brief history of the player, current price, breakeven and of course the rating system.

My suggestion would be to have two threads that are linked - one for requests and one for the actual information (which only you guys would be allowed to post on) The index lookup is very effective, but I like to read through the whole thread, and it is quite confusing doing it like that.
Anyhow, just a suggestion. Again - congratulations on the great work done thus far!

Good Idea we can do this i think by locking and unlocking to post and locking again after posting.
I think you should take suggestions to players and choose relevant ones instead of doing every single player

to be fair, hunt topped out at +100k, ands had better js :P
maybe ask for a short sentence/ personal opinion from people who follow the club the player's from, like how they think they'll go :P

do you mean one player per club, or get 18 people to do separate write ups for their clubs? Colli's pretty good with finding out articles and stats, and if he wants to do the work, let him since he's good at it :P But a small section at the bottom of each players write up from a club supporter would be interesting- you do tend to know more about your players than other teams after all :P
Doing all the players put forward to us would be a lot better, Especially for the new comers to Dream Team or to this site who don't know the complete story of a player. All that would be needed to be written about lesser DT relevant players is a brief paragraph on why they wouldn't be much good in your DT team and a rating out of 10.
To be fair to Hunt he did improve on his average last year by a whopping 23 points.
16 games last year equals to 471 dream team points with a 29 average
16 games to date this year equals to a 843 dream team points with a 52.6 average
yeah we'll do all "relevant" players put forward to us, as for non DT relevant rooks and elite players we will put up the stats and instead of the paragraph at the bottom it may be just "not DT relevant" or "no brainer/lock in your starting squad"
no point us prattling on about swan or jselwood, but a rating on some premiums may be valid such as 30-somethings that may or may not be "still elite"
maybe in the thread where the requests will go, FF members can also post opinions and where one comes from a fan of the club of a player we reviewed and provides valuable insight we can then quote it and add it to the bottom of that profile / write up we did for that player.

yeah got to admit doing write ups late in the season on top of the rooks writeups and everythign else was a handful be GREAT to have Noz to share the load

Yeah I discussed this with Noz, I am happy to accept your help any time but TRUST ME you will have your hands full doing SC thread and may end up asking me for help :)
Think we can link My DT thread and your SC thread so people can visit both threads as a lot of people play both and the players that suit SC are often very different than those that suit DT.
You will do over 1000 write ups over the season as I did this season but if your still free enough to help us out your help would be welcome as it was this season, and thanks again for all your efforts.
