Title: Team has been obliterated by injuries... Hold trades or use them??
Post by: juzztheball on July 10, 2012, 11:01:14 AM
My team, with players out/suspected to be out this week in bold:

Backs: Deleido, Goddard, Scotland, Waters, Hargrave, Heppell, Yarran (S Shaw, Spurr)
Mids: Thompson, J Selwood, Ablett, Boyd, Priddis, Pendlebury (Gibson, Smith)
Rucks: Cox, Jacobs (Campbell, Stephenson)
Fwds: Franklin, Sidebottom, Chapman, N Riewoldt, Martin, Zorko Patton (Milera, Kerridge)

As you can see, my main concerns are my backs and forwards. Playing relatively poor opposition this week so i should win those regardless of whether i trade or not, but obviously theres concerns with the number of outs. Not going for overall or anything..

5 trades left with a measley 22k in the bank. Sitting 7th in one league (equal 4th with poor percentage) and 3rd in my other strong league.

Any suggestions as to what trades i should be considering this week, if any??

Help will be cheered :)

RE: Patton, i just have a feeling after last weeks game he will be rested. Hence my bolding of him.

pendles should be back mate, lol should!

tough one here - you might have to sacrifice waters for someone as he is out with a knee - 5 weeks they are saying aren't they? if i heard correctly, and it is 5 weeks i say trade. try and downgrade him to a cheaper premo around 400k or so, and use that 120k maybe to upgrade milera (goodes is a bargain!!!)? if what you want is league finals glory, keep your semi injured guns.

just gotta hope for good team selections with hargrave, fair chance you might cop one zero despite double trading.

maybe your best of biding your time a few more weeks to trade heavy prior to finals? if you are up against weak opposition, all you can do is compare teams when the teams are released. if you are worried, i say downgrade waters and upgrade a rookie.

Thanks Torres :)

Im thinking Waters > Fisher (makes me 100k)

or Waters > Birchall as a straight swap

best FWD i can afford with the waters > fisher trade is luke dahlhaus, im about 3k short of Colin Sylvia.

ughhh what a nightmare x_x

Think both Waters & Hargrave is finished mate.  Hargrave out of contract next year?

I think Hargrave was stiff to be dropped in the first place... Not sure what made them choose Gilbee over him! Im hopeful he will regain his spot this week but if he doesnt im in a bit of strife :/

Lets say if you make the elimination final, Hargrave could potentially cost you the game he is a "late out" again.

Not sure you want both Hargrave & Waters around that period, so better ditching them now.  Esp, while Hargrave price is high.

sam shaw will likely play.
hargrave is a possibilitty, but surely waters has to go (4-5 weeks out)
too long to hold IMO.

i'd be trying to downagrade waters to a mid price back who is playing (was gonna say yarran, btu already got him i see), and then use the freed up cash to upgrade a fwd to goodes.

if not, there's always waters to carrazzo down back.

I'd need someone 345k or cheaper to be able to go milera to goodes . The only player I can find is Dan nicholson from Melbourne :/

I would think about someone like

Waters > Rance or someone under 400K
Milera > Sylvia

Then maybe swap Guerra for Hargrave if possible when back from suspension.  Hawks have nice fixtures and plenty of chip kicking to come.

i have nicholson, and have so for a few weeks now. he's been good pumping out a consistant 80.

Already got yarran mate!

Not keen on Rance. I was going to get him a few weeks back but didn't, and he punched out a 30 something.

Another option for mine is Christian Howard. Thoughts?

Definite no on Howard.

How about this as an option.

Waters to fisher this week which leaves me with 117k, hopefully enough to.upgrade milera to tippett next week/in two weeks time??

How about this:

Schofield for waters
Christensen for milera

Schofields last 3 scores have been around 100

I think your hedging your bets too much.  I would personally go for someone with some past scoring history.

For example: Newman & Sylvia.

At least you know with Sylvia/Newman they have actually produced premium numbers in the past.  Christensen/Schofield/Howard/etc are too much unknown quantites
