Title: MASSIVE RISK - The forgotten man
Post by: The Supercoach on February 07, 2012, 11:24:39 PM
The Forgotten Thomas

Everyone know Lindsay thomas is a good player its just he cant kick straight. Now im different to most people, most people se lindsay  scoring  2.6 and think "wow he is so bad", on the other hand i see "wow 8 scoring shots". Now we know what happen when he gets it right he scores 200+ and kicks 7 goals against carlton.

This article shows he has potential of kicking straight this year and if he gets it right i would watch out.

I agree it's a massive risk.
He could turn out to be one massive unique - if he can pull it off.. which I'm just not sure he can.
I honestly hope he proves me wrong though, some of those shots he missed, it can do terrible things to a persons confidence.

An intra club game doesnt mean much.  With the spotlight on him and 4 points on the line, the yips will come back.  Pass.

he is just too inconsistent he better hope he  got his kicking shaped up otherwise i see him donning the vest with some of the rookies

Small forwards are consistently inconsistent eg: Milne, L.Thomas, Ballantyne etc. Can kick 8 one week and 0 the next. I think it's less risk top get a rookie that is DPP mid/fwd

I wouldn't touch him with my worst enemies 6ft pole.

Funny story though, my brother-in-law is a SC retard & he for some unholy reason brought him in 2 weeks before he got that monster score. Bloody Tin A$$!
Didnt stop him from finishing bottom tho.

Massive risk, but could very well pay off. Obviously it is a confidence thing. His kicking for goal this season was more to do with confidence than anything else. He has a very good field kick and hasn't always struggled infront of goals, it's just when you miss one that you really should have gotten then another and another....it all snowballs and your confidence goes out the window and you just keep on missing. A fresh new season and some good form like this could be the thing he needs to turn that confidence issue around. I know this phrase is used a lot, but I am going to say it again. Watch him in the NAB cup. He may be worth the risk, or he may be as much of a waste of space as he was last year.

More chance of risk than reward so better of just steering clear of him and going a more reliable pick.

He would be a very nice unique  :P

But we all know why Lindsday is unique.

For me it's a pass. I'd rather get a rookie as a cash cow and convert to a premium.
