Title: Adam Cooney
Post by: PurpleArmy on January 13, 2012, 11:06:37 AM
Adam Cooney looks like he's gotten over his knee troubles and should be fully fit for the NAB Cup and round 1, Priced at $394,600, he could be a smokie for the midfield

Not doubt his ability and his upside but the general feeling down at the Whitten Oval is that unfortunately Cooney will never be abe to perform at his past physical level due to his knee.

I'd jump on him in a flash otherwise but I'll be staying right away but wishing him well.

I think it's the type of knee injury that will never really go away.

Will put in some good performances no doubt. But not for Dream Team anymore IMO.

Was never a DT ball magnet even in his brownlow days. I would avoid him.

This year I dont have any space for mid pricers in the mids. Going with 4 of the Swan, Pendles, Gaz, Selwood, Muphy, Rocky and Thompson.

Big no from me. No chance, there isn't a radar big enough for him be seen on for me  :P

he explodes for parts of games but no where near consistent enough to be fantasy relevant.

+1

Excellent point question is how does he play so well for sometimes decent lengths of time in a game if it's his knee not holding up to that level it doesn't add up, maybe it's more him than the knee, frustrating for the doggies that's for sure.

He plays well because he is an excellent player, but at various times in the season his knee continues to degenerate. Its tough for him I reckon.

There is no doubt the guy has game, just not Consistant game atm.

He dosn't seem like the kinda bloke who lives and breathes footy either, never seen him in optimum shape like say a Judd or Pendles.
Always looks a little soft imo in terms of his physique.
He seems a little laconic on the field too,  but his class is clear when going.

Got Adam Cooney as my 5th mid. Having a good pre-season. The knee seems to be holding up. Could pay off
