was thinking about mcevoy.. but im not so keen anymore
when Koschitzke was playing mcevoy averaged 84 over 12 games, when he wasnt playing, mcevoy averaged a massive 101 over 8 games as long as Koschitzke is playing then im not getting mcevoy
I think you need to make the comparison when Gardiner was in the side and not Kosi.
gardiner only played r.24 of the home and away season
interesting point but if mcevoy can become a regular goalkicker he should reach 100 but that average is still not great as a sole ruckman he needs to be closer to 105-110
Yeh Im back and fourth atm. The only ruck close to a lock for me is the burger! The other I keep swapping. My structure in 2 months time will properly determine my 2nd Ruck I think
myslef iv got luey and sandi. luey lock for sure. and sandi well his 200cm+ height gives him bulk hitouts and he'll for sure avg 100+. And zac clarke wont be a problem cuz lyon wil play him up forward.
i went sandi (soft spot) and mcevoy ( due to his rnd 13 bye ) which is different from all other premium rucks and the two rooks we all want in giles and stephenson.
BUT , i am tempted to follow your lead and go burger and just have both the rooks ( if i still ahve them) on the ground when the respective premium has his bye.
My two options im considering are.
1. sandi & burglar or mcevoy (cannot decide, but your post and some comments is leaning me towards burglar).
2. sandi & hmac/kruezer (if they impress in nab cup and look like must haves) more likely to be hmac im thinking.
I would never risk the 1 gun 3 rook ruck combo, but i would be tempted by i gun and hmac thats a LOT of extra money if it comes off.
I think you're spot on DT-SC, Kosi seriously reduced McEvoy's output last year and this year Kosi is reported to be looking very fit. McEvoy works hard but he is hardly a superstar of the comp and WILL NOT become one. When in doubt pick the better player in real footy. All of the other premo rucks are better real players IMO
Well said hardnut. I was sandi cox but think I'll save some coin and go sandi burger. Just had a look at burgers last 10 rounds in SC and holy cow in that form he is a must have in either comp.

exactly what im doing im leaning towards Mummy/Sandi and Hmac and if stephenson is playing in the byes will go to a round 11 player or might have to go mcevoy if he is performing.
Mummy and Leuenberger. That was my first ever choice so I think ill revert back to that.
hehe yeah revert back to first ever choice, and it was a good one ele imo, funny how we switch up our teams read up on the next big thing mix up the team to fit them in then the next player comes along, then you hear something negative and you go back to your "gut instinct" of the tried and trusted player you had in the first place... i think we all just love DT are somewhat addicted, and CANT wait for the game to begin, but in the meantime we'll work on our teams and we'll love every moment of it
Yeah haha. Often the case. I'd say my team is very similar to the first I made (knew I should have taken a screen shot) as whenever anything out of the ordinary comes up I'm back to my initial selection :P

lol me too...
Every year we will hear something about someone, who is supposedly going to play more here or there and we get on the boat. There will be so many of these stories before the season starts. Some players we have not even thought about yet will become locks in our teams, for at least a week or so anyway. Kinda like Conca recently.
When you start to forget where you heard this inside info and you start questioning yourself, just go back to the stats sheet. No biast no bullshower just pure facts.
+1 kuruki thats a fact and you 100% right
but.................
then there are teh gut feeling picks, you cant tell me there wont be one or two guys on you rteam that aren't popular picks or sure things, but your gut tells you get on this guy...
for me its a few and i dont know how many i'll end up with but conca, caddy, dangerfield, christensen and an unknown mid priced ruck are well and truely on the cards.
isn't this thread meant to be about big boy mcevoyyyy
i love the cat and he can really dominate teams, though it is a worrying stat to hear that when kosi plays he averages lower.
I'm still backing him because when i watched him play he just always outmarked everyone and gets you them cheeeeeeeesy stats, which everybody loves, he is still in my dad.

I went and watched us (WCE) play the Saints in Melb last year and thought the same thing about him as well. With another preseason under his belt he should be able to finish out games a bit better than last year and perhaps improve his scoring again for 2012.
McEvoy = LOCK
McEvoy was close to my team but I changed my ruck strategy so he misses out. I hope he doesn't take it too hard.
he is in mine because i cant afford mummy
