Title: They Wont Win A Game Will They?
Post by: Hawka on January 05, 2012, 06:37:51 PM
I really don't see how they are going to win a game.Gold Coast did an excellent job in there first year and exceed many peoples expectations. But IMO Ablett,Riska,Brennan and Bock are all better then GWS best which you could say it probably is Callan Ward and there's no way he will be able to control games and rack up possisions and goals like Gazza could. But i actually think GWS best players will be Power and Cornes and to lesser extents Brogan and Mcdonald. There experience will be so valuable but will they be able to win a game?

Zip and I had a relatively large arguement on this a few topics down

Although some teams have crap days. Some are more notorious than others but no GWS will struggle getting its first win on the board

I disagree because GWS wave more veterans than Gold coast such as Brogan Cornes James Macdonald and sentanta o'halpin and young stars like scully ward  palmer and davis

I agree with Hawka Gold Coast mature players stack up more than those you mentioned If you put Ablett, Bock, Campbell Brown, Riska and Brennnan up against Brogan, Cornes Power McDonald O'Halpin and Scully I know who I would be on.
Will win a lot more games next year when the get Pendles and Goddard or similar.

They won't win a game in 2012 because their midfield is way too weak. Can't see them winning enough clearances.

They have far better long term prospects than GC though.

Will Sheedy assist or hinder their chances of winning a game in 2012??

Hinder.

Don't misinterpret me though- sheedy is a beast and a genius, but 2012 GWS aren't going to snag a win here or there, they're going in to give their players the best possible afl experience, while still keeping them fit and not burnt out. TBH, I can see a lot of resting occuring, even with high draft picks such as coniglio and Patton (when recovered), so that these kids get experience dominating B grade and dont get too disheartened at AFL losses.

As much chance of that as there is of me coming home with Miranda Kerr (sigh).

I doubt the Giants will do as well as the Suns this year... And nowhere near as good as that picture ;)
