Title: Zac Clarke (Freo)
Post by: Phasir on January 05, 2012, 02:53:03 PM
Picked with #37 in the 2008 national draft this athletic big man showed his DT worth in 2011, averaging 78 through the season, but averaged close to 91 for the last 8 matches of the 2011 Home&Away season.
Now listed as being in the best 22 at Fremantle, you can expect this guy to get games but will probably be playing more of a leading forward role with stints in the ruck instead of solely a ruckman who gets to run around the centre bounces getting cheap points, unless Sandi hurts his toe again, in which case its free for all between Clarke & Griffin for rucking duties.
Priced at 389,200 he's not a bad option if you want two starting rucks but don't want to fork out the cash for two premos, could average the 90+ he had for the end of 2011 throughout the season this year, and personally I'd be happy if my 2nd ruck had that.
Pretty unique pick from what I've seen of teams in the Rate My Dream Team section so if you're going for a unique ruck combo this could be your guy. :)

He is an interesting player. Is he the same bloke who tried to mark the ball and it like hit him in the head?  :P

But I dunno if I'd chance his services this year. Berger looks a safe bet. But Clarke offers a cheaper option for a 2nd ruck as you said.

He is also the guy that ran down Mitch Robinson on a wing

This dude is an athlete. Freo need a big mobile target up forward and this guy is going to be it. He will get a bit of time in the ruck if Lyon is smart giving Sandi a rest in the pocket. Really picked his game up late last season and by all accounts coming out of Freo he should continue to do so this year. My Petrie of 2012. Very very seriously considering turning H Mac into Zac Clarke.

He is going to be an absolute beast. I didn't rate him early on but wow he really came on towards the end of last year. Before, was obviously just learning how to play. He will be massive, I cannot stress it enough ;)
Actually shhh don't pick him :D

Your right about him potentially been the petrie of 2012 in every way except the price tag, for me $400K is just too much.(this year)
