With the easiest fixture ever made you would have to be silly not to start with this guy. Everyones thoughts. Unique but also worthy of being in top 6 mids at end of year
something will have to go terribly wrong for him not to be top 5 come end of season. LOCK- i'm planning to upgrade to swan and pendles so my first 2 mid picks were Ablett - Thompson.
Thompson a bit unreliable to be captain material hence having ablett, by unreliable i mean he might only get 100 not 135 he can have good solid games and he can have off the wall games so risky as a capt but average him out over a season as you say with this draw especially this season and im betting you'll find him at the pointy end.
at the moment i have swan, gaz, pendles
pendles has a very good chance of becoming thompson for the start of the season
Swan, Gazz, Pendles, Barlow.
Barlow has turned in Scotty i think.
yeah i am strongly considering him as well, although the only off putting factor is that he seems to need an absolute showerload of possessions to get his hundreds... (mind u he does get them)
had him this year, and served me quite well, but even against the gold coast it took 50 odd possessions for him to score 150 dt points. imagine if some of the other mids got 50 possessions, u'd probably have seen a 200 dt score =p
gives away a fair few free kicks as well iirc
GCFC and GWS twice ...He's in
He let me down 2 years ago when he was heavily tagged. He didn't seem to handle them very well. Won't have him again in case the same happens.
I think he's good with the tag now. Was the only decent crows player this year, and seemed to deal with it :P
plays port, gws and gc twice each, lock n load.
lock and load. You be silly not to pick him IMO, potential captain material!
those are some really contradictory statements :P Just ftr though, I don't actually have thompson in my team this year, but I rate him as a solid pick nonetheless :P
Just interested in how many people are close to locking him in.... With Adelaide having an almost dream fixture this year this bloke is sure to increase his ave over the 110 mark.... He is also very durable missing only 4 games since 2005...
So a raise of hands who has him locked....
Not locked but on the very very short list
Tossing up between him and Jelwood, his fixtures make him tempting
Will also add that he really helps out in terms of your bye structure...
i'm more likely to lock in VB than scotty t as i believe he will benefit far more from the easy draw (providing sanderson uses him as bicks did)
Verrry close, but not yet ;)
He is a lock for me because of his draw..
Racked up over 50 possies playing gcs last year
Probably can do it again
Him or Rocky hmmmmm

Him or Rocky hmmmmm
I was thinking the same but i cant ignore his easy draw im hoping he will be semi unique and win me a few games with massive scores against GWSx2 GCFCx2 and PORTx2
My only issue is he needs a showerload of possesions to get 115+...

against those teams he will ;D
Big raised hands over here.
New coach... different game plan... more kicking for him... higher DT scores?? maybe?? Can only hope...
Could average 150 in the first five rounds? ???
Sorry was referring to SC on his page if thats what you mean..
there are no locks before NAB starts...he has been in/out of my fp team like a yoyo. Had him last year and was a great unique but can't really see him elevating again and surely Sando will insist on a better spread of contributors? NVB, Sloane and Vince should all improve their avg and it may dent Scotty T's output somewhat.
having said that his score against last years bottom 4 sides reads... 141,135,126,71(?),138,151 for an average of 127! That is well and truly captaincy country and surprised me even though I had him when I crunched the numbers. If you take out the odd 71 (lets assume he had taken a knock) his average jumps to 138ppg :o...and now he gets a crack at GWS too....ok maybe I will lock him in :)
improving side, blokes around him and behind him are set to get better again, don't know if that will all help or hinder his scoring as others lift, but i reckon his draw as you point out HAS to help. I haven't locked him because he wont go up much anyway so happy to upgrade to him, and im tossing up between him and rocky who i have a good feeling about lifting more but one is a lock the other i reckon is in line for an early upgrade target.
Haven't got him locked in atm. For me it was between him and Gibbs. I have gone with Gibbs as reports out of Carlton are that he fitter than he has ever been plus Chris Judd said look out for Gibbs this year and if Judd says it then it is ok for me lol.

Yes and shower loads of possessions is exactly what he get's.
I haven't considered him this year. I believe that the best 6 midfielders over the year will be Swan, Pendles, Selwood, Rocky, Boyd and Murphy. I'll be looking at trying to get those 6 in by round 14.
Thomo is very tempting but I don't know if he's going to have another year like last year. Anyhow if he did he'd still be behind my top 6.

That is a brave call, to think that he wont be amongst the top 6 mids is like thinking that GAJ wont be :o ::)
this is an easy one locked. thats all there is to it ;)
Have Thommo and GAJ both locked. Probably lock Thommo as C in rd 1 too!
My top 6...
Swan
Ablett
Rockliffe
Pendles
Boyd
Thompson
I think the captaincy will hamper Jelwood's scores this year but will aid them so much in 2013. I've been wrong before though :P
I also have GAJ & Scotty Thompson locked in. Just can't see them dropping their scores in 2012. I need to assess more Crows due to their apparnt dream fixture.
Scotty, Jacobs & Porpz. Will all serve you well!

this will help you a bit
Lock him in I say, if he gathered 50+ possesions last time he played GC I can't wait to see what he would do to GWS.. TWICE!
