West.
Harder tougher afl seasoned body. Also west has experiences involving the rigours of afl footy. VFL to AFL is a big step up.
My two cents.

Don't think they will have a clear #1.

gonna have both anyway, with no viable ruck dpp & the top rucks near or over 600k im going cheap on rucks, these 2 along with giles & renouf or even bellchambers if he steps up are the few i will be choosing from, along with any others who may bob up in the pre season

West. Has shown he can ruck against big AFL bodies like Cox and Sandi.

I fear that west and stephenson will take dt points of eachother, will this be the case?

Probably, Orren being the cheaper makes him more popular with me

I dont think id respect any DT team that picks West up. Why would u pick him when hmac would be a better option if fit. Orren is slighty bigger than west and is 240K cheaper. Plus on the downside for west is his job security his played 17 games in 4 years. Otten being number one would effect the number of games but he spent a lot of time injured too. Orren for me as 2nd or 3rd ruck, giles as he competitor.

But having a 2nd and 3rd ruck will make the rucks unsettled, and you will be fussing over who to play each week. At least with West, he will be the No. 1 ruck (if not get Vardy, who i prefer anyway) and you will have 2 rucks who are there for points, Having Orren and Giles will bring insecurity and you will probably miss out on points. the 240k is worth it.

Id rather have the 240K invested elsewhere than have a player like west who struggles to get half a dozen games in a season. Clearly cats recruited this guy to play otherwise they wouldnt of wasted a draft pick on him. After the cup im sure who is 2nd and 3rd ruck would of sorted itself out

They will share it. When Nathan Vardy is fully fit he would be my no.1 but it will be a shared job. Like the hawks rucks last year
