I think that Nic Nat should be in consideration but I think that you would be better to go a Leuy or Mummy and then a HMac, West, Bellchambers or even Max Bailey.

Maybe in years to come.

I'd love for him to prove me wrong but I won't be getting him this year. Mummy, Goldy etc should be on your radar.

As soon as Cox retires I will be very intrigued. Until then Ill stick with coxy no way you could pick nic nat over Coxy.

I dont see NicNat will be worth having until he becomes premium (when Cox retires).  He will increase by another 10pts this season pushing him in to the 80's.  Next year he will push another 10pts in to the 90's.  Cox retires and NicNat improves another 10pts then he becomes premium.

If you have been watching how he goes as a player he improves slightly every year.  I think it has been a fantastic training plan from the Eagles on him (that hurt to type).  He wont peak for another 2 - 3 seasons.

he has the bye with Burger and Cox and there is no chance im picking him over those guys, also i dont think i will be able to pick any of them with giles locked into my team

Sunday herald sun reports that nicnat was carrying shoulder and chest injuries for most of last season. He is now on the mend, training hard and is looking a forward to next year. Breakout potential.

2014 he'll explode. Up there as one of the most exciting players to watch when he's on.

I think he has a serious shot for 2012. Just doesn't fit my structure atm :(

Should be considered but a Hmac, Giles, West ect will be better value for money and better for the long run. NicNat is still young and has played a lot of games for a ruckman of his age which does wear down his body

Tell ya this much, once he starts combining the quality ball he gets with quantity! Watch out!
Kruezers in the same boat. If he gets firing like he started to before injury hit he will be one to watch also

Im thinking of taking the punt, he will start most games in the middle and i really think with a good pre season he could dominate the competition. Coxy is a star but is getting on and might not play as much in the ruck with Nicnat coming on.

52(2009) 62(2010) 75(2011)
you'd have to think he'd push to 85+ this season, possibly 90 ppg going at the same progression of scoring averages.

im with the couple more years to go theory although he could do well this year there are too many that will do well this year to risk him for me.

I'm not a fan of the mid-priced ruck theory so this year its a no, but before I actually got serious about planning the team I had hoped to squeeze him in, but he's a fair bit of $$ for a young ruckman who might not get that 85-90 ppg average.  Will hopefully be a lock for me in 2013 baring a serious injury in 2012.

I've reevaluated my prior opinion on nic nat.

He doesn't have the ceiling for premium status... I agree with Phasir, 2013 :P

Personally i think while Cox is there Nicnat shouldnt be a dt optipn. His game is suited to sc... In 3 years when Cox is gone his posession rate will go up and by then he will be the premium fantasy and ruckmen in the comp!! He may well average in the 80's but the sandi- jacobs/mummy/lue/mcevoy option is the way to go this year imo.

I started NicNat on my bench last year and he came in very handy with the bye rounds but theres no way I'd place him on field when there is so much more talent out there this year to choose from.
Title: Thoughts on Nic Naitanui????

Just thougt I would see what peoples thoughts on Nic Naitanui were? I think he is due a big season. It is his 3rd full AFL season so it should b his breakout year  :D

nope. Doesn't have the ceiling for an elite ruck yet. Would be keener for kreuz tbh.

I'm strongly considering him for sc but not DT. When cox retires then put him in your team

He could go nuts in SC. His possession to SC points ratio is outraegoues. If he can average an extra 3 possies per game look the fark out. Don't like him for DT though. Doesn't win any easy footy. He may learn to but until I've seen evidence, stay away.

very limited preseason to date, he will most likly start the season slowly
