Who would come out on top?
S.Pendlebury, M.Murphy, J.Selwood, Rockliff, A.Swallow, D.Mundy
vs
D.Swan, C.Judd, G.Ablett, M.Boyd, M.Priddis, NDS
ooo, nice question
Swan and Pendlebury cancel out
Judd and Murphy just about cancel out
Ablett and Selwood cancel out (Or Ablett just wins that battle)
Rockliff beats Boyd
Priddis beats Swallow
NDS beats Mundy
Old School, but just ;)
Agree with Voldemort, only Boyd beats Rockliff.
Boyd evens Rockliff.
Swallow equal with Priddis.
NDS and Mundy a draw too.
Ablett beats Selwood.
Judd and Smurph a draw.
Pendles beats Swan.
Oldies 3
Youngens 3
Do you mean in terms of averages? one game? or total points for whole season?
IMO it makes a big difference depending on which one

Generally speaking
swan vs pendles
judd vs murphy
ablett vs selwood
boyd vs rocklciff
priddis vs swallow
NDS vs mundy
its a 5-1 old school win for me with swallow over priddis
Swan=Pendles
Judd>Murphy
Ablett>Selwood
Boyd<Rockliff
Priddis>Swallow
NDS=Murphy
3-1 old school win.
Nice question btw!
If you were referring to whole season points. Oldies would win
In most other situations I'd give it to the Young uns
oldies have almost certainly reached their ceiling where as the young guns could go up a notch, bcos of that id lean to the new school
Swan just over Pendles
Judd-Murphy 50/50
Ablett just over Jelwood
Boyd-ROCKY 50/50
Priddis over Swallow
NDS over Mundy
So i think oldies 4 with 2 draws. Mind u, it's a question that really makes u think, because i did change my mind a couple of times

Impossible to really call but, in order i would
generally go:
1. Ablett
2. Swan
3. Pendlebury
4. Selwood
5. Judd
6. Boyd
7. Murphy
8. Priddis
9. NDS
10. Mundy
11. Rockliff
12. Swallow
So based on this, adding their positions, i would have to say the Oldies have it - with 31 vs 47 (lowest total wins)
Swan > Pendles.
Judd and Murphy roughly even. Judd can star, but I think Murphy's more consistent.
Ablett > Selwood
Boyd < Rockliff
Priddis > Swallow
NDS > Mundy
Oldies for me. It will be interesting to look back at this thread at the end of the season and see if everyone still has the same opinions.
Like this post. At the moment would give it to the oldies but there is a lot more upside to the young ones and would be interesting to revisit at season end.
Swan and Pendles even (too close to call)
Murphy over Judd (mainly because of Murph was more consistent this year)
Ablett over Selwood
Boyd and Rockliff even too close to call
Priddis over Swallow (Priddis more consistent)
NDS over Mundy
3 Oldies
1 Young Ones
2 even
This is the supercoach board, isn't it?
How are some of you rating Swan over Pendlebury?
well, even though pendles is younger and a gun, look at swans last 3 years compared to pendles...
pendles outshone him this year, but still...

Swan destroys Pbury when he is actually trying and not injured.

not to sure on that if both remain injury free i would say they would average around the same, i give slight edge to Pendles actually. If this was DT i would agree with you.
Pendles is younger and going to improve.
Swan is injury prone and getting on in years.
Add this to the fact that Pendlebury averaged more than any other player this year, and it's a clear win in my opinion...
Got another one for ya.
I have Scott Thompson in my team at the moment, but rather like the look of Sloan.
He'd need to get to 100+ average to be worth it, vs Thompson who is a proven player.

First I've heard of that... I agree with you but terrible example of why Pendles is better.
since 06 swan's played 129/132 possible games...
if you keep in mind he was carrying injury for several weeks leading up to round 12 when he went to arizona for 2 weeks with collingwoods bye, swan and pendles averages are quite comparable.
i think swan atm gets penciled in JUST before pendles does.
however i do think pendles has more of an arsenal than swan. but swan is a dam machine always offering his teammates an option. and when he gets the clearances, momentum points + 40 touches = boom
pendles more classy - they actually really complement eachother nicely in same team.
nevertheless i'm starting them both in 2012!!!

Well this is embarrassing :P
Sorry bout that one.
Standing by my original opinion though.

This is simply unacceptable.
*cough* a little confused about why that's unacceptable *cough*
he had that break halfway through this year for arizona, and that was the first home and away game he'd missed in over 100...
Unless I completely misread his stats...
Maybe I should have been more clear, and added ::) :P to my post LOL.
see, I thought you were being sarcastic, but wasn't really sure :P
