Title: TES V: Skyrim
Post by: AFEV on November 13, 2011, 11:12:38 AM
Discuss gameplay here 8)
There's a hell of a lot to talk about with this game, I think it warrants its own thread.

For those of you who own the game, how are you enjoying it so far?

Also, just out of interest, which race have you blokes chosen? I personally went for Khajiit, came down to Khajiit or Wood Elf for me, in the end the sneak + freaking awesome look of the Khajiit won me over.

Only about 10 hours into the gameplay at the moment, and haven't really gotten far into the main storyline at all, just screwing around with a bunch of side-quests :P

I don't know if you'd say I "own" it... but I did acquire a playable Skyrim onto my computer ;)

This will be my first TES game... any advice for me? Going to play it after the NHL... never played TES before so don't really know what I'm going to be doing lol.

I am loving skyrim i got it on friday but didnt get much chance to play it over the weekend as i was busy but i have been playing as much as i can after school though and i am a level 6 imperial. the gameplay is amazing to say the least. so many hours of effort would of been used to get this game the way it is.

It's on PC, 360 and PS3 :o
It's not Mac compatible though (someone will port it eventually, you'd think) so I'd assume your friends are playing on a console.

It's an RPG. If you don't know what an RPG is you could probably get a better and more in depth answer from Google than from me :P Mostly because I'm busy playing >:D

My horse just died so I'm tempted to go back ~5 minutes of game play... but I feel like that'd be cheating

BIG GAME, soooo many god damn quests and missions..  i went for Imperial (no real reason).  what bugs me is that u travel 30 odd minutes down a mine(or whatever) finally come across a big chest with a ray of light hitting it, and think ive hit pay dirt... open it up and get a crappy shield and like 20 pieces of gold "Fantastic" a horse only costs 1000 gold  haha
working on range attack mainly, putting in alot into magic.

ive been playing alot C.O.D. recently  and everytime im about to turn a corner or open a door in elderscrolls  i keep wanting to throw a flash grenade  lol

Okay, well I'm a level 14 (  :-[ ) Redguard and I normally strome around slaying people with two handed weapondry (battle axes, great sword of cold...). Probably should've selected Ork or Nord as my race but they all look to flowering strange  :P
What are you Windigo?

I'm a level 50 Argonian. I picked that race in Oblivion as well.

I dunno why. But I liked the look of it. I also figured that since every game you play has you as a human race I decided something different would be cool. Breathing underwater is very useful.

I've maxed out: Sneak, Light Armour, Smithing & One-Handed.

Have 80s in destruction & restoration. Lockpicking is 93 I think.

75 Archery ~ Daedric Bow.

I've got Light Dragon Armour & Daedric sword. Found an awesome enchanted piece of Dragon Armour a while back.  :)

Holy shower that's mad!
I'm on 30 archery and 36 two handed when it comes to combat.
26 in destruction, lockpicking is 27 I think...
Heavy armor is 35 too  8)

Sneaking is easy to level up. Just go to a corner and go into the 'sneak' position where someone is but cannot see you. I used some old guy in a cave that was blind.  ::)

Then put an elastic band around the toggle that makes you move and you continually walk into the wall. Leveling up your sneak as if you were moving about normally.

As for smiting. Just keep making iron daggers. They only cost one iron ingot & leather strip. When you run out just buy more from a shop. Simple.

For sneaking also, turn the difficulty up to make and go to High Hrothgar and enter sneak mode and sneak up to a Grey beard and hit him in the back. Since they are invincible they won't do anything. Just stand there.

I didn't try that method so I cannot verify it. But give it a go. Sneaking is the shower when you deal 15x damage with daggers.

No worries. There is also a speech exploit you can do in Riften. I've got it up to 60. But I can't be stuffed maxing it.

P.S: Did the High Hrothgar sneak thing work? I heard it levels up after each hit at low levels.

I'm a level ~42 Imperial with max Smithing, One-Handed and Speech. Have completed the main story, civil war (Stormcloak RULE!), companions, thieves guild, dark brotherhood and a glitch is stopping me from the mages guild. Have over 200k gold. Yep, I won the game.

Haven't played in a few days though as I got a new game a week ago and have been playing that heaps.

If your into Blocking. But I read that you prefer two-handed. A shield is better but a weapon will still do the trick.

Find a Giant or Mammoth and put the difficulty down to it's easiest level and just hold block when a giant attacks. It won't do much damage and your block will go up heaps. Just don't attack it or you'll slay it easily.

Not a problem.

I've slayed just about everything in Skyrim and gladly quit playing it. Just got too repetitive.
