This is a question for all you experienced DTers out there......
Do you think Lenny will get a discount this year?
If he does how much do you think he'll get?
....personallly l think he will, but l dont know how the discount % is calculated.....do you?
i think the rules would give him a 40% normally but VS may step in to make an exception and either give him no discount of a 10%. If he does geth the 40% discount he will be in every good DT team.
Your right Holz, if he got 40% he would be in every team
wow......imagine getting lenny for a bit over $240k

exactly they would probably have to increase the magic number as everyone would get a premium for basically the same price as the top rookies.
it sux if they do though......after all rules are rules, and they're there for a reason.....and shouldn't be manipulated

i think they should, as i stated before if the make lenny cheap i think they will have to increase the price of everyone to compensate for it. I would rather have him at 400k and people get to make up their mind if they want him or not.
hayes would be a barigin if the give him a discount at 40%,guess will have to wait and see. was also looking a jack grimes too!!! to see if he get a discount.

have they done that with any players before Holz?
.....l've only been into DT for 2 seasons, so l have no idea on that score
even if he got a discount he wouldnt be in my team

so at 240k he wouldn't make your team
nah i might consider if under 200K but not likely to pick him up

That would be 9 and Cicjose ;)
if that break even is the right one there is no way he will be in my starting side

l didnt think breakevens carried over from the previous year, but related directly to their price at the start of each season

that would be his BE if he played this year. If he is priced at 240k and he get say 2 100s in the first 2 games his BE will be like -100 even if he averages 80 he will have a negative BE

break even will go of his current starting price for next year.

....isn't that what l just said :o
yeah cic...?
he SHOULD get 40%... that being said, they may just give him 20, or 10. I think they'll give him some discount- the severity of his injury kind of dictates that he should...
Only if he's under 250k. I just don't see a new coach rushing back a 30+ year old midfielder after such a severe knee injury.
St Kilda are making a last ditch effort at the flag. It'll have been a year since Hayes did his ACL- he'll be playing round 1 imo.

l really hope he does.....but a week or 2 ago Lenny himself was quoted in the paper saying that he wasn't sure if he'd be ready for round 1
I saw that as well, but seriously, players, teams and coaches are always heaps dodgy when it comes to injury. If they keep a cloud over hayes, then theres the possibility their round 1 opponent won't prepare for him, which will give the saints a slight edge. It's kind of BS, but that's how it works.
My money is honestly on hayes not playing any NAB, then being named as emergency for rd 1, then having a late withdrawal and him being included.
I'm calling it now :P

haha. I mean, this is all assuming this façade of 'injury' continues :P

it would be great for Dt if he sat out till say round 8 got super fit and than we could 'downgrade' shiel to hayes (if he is 240k)

oh yeah.....and if you did a double trade.....WOW!!
downgrade to Lenny for one, and then upgrade another to a premium
....it'd be just about the best upgrade/downgrade ever
a sub 300 k Lenny would be worth it
Can someone tell me when we'll actually find out what his price will be?
december when DT gold members get access to prices :)

Tragic? Not at all. I think most of us on here share the same ancestry as shown in the video link below. We are simply doing what we do best while we wait. ;D

Hopefully either m0nty or someone close to him has dt gold so the fanplanner prices could magically change come december.
apparently 390K according to Dicing apple

Yep, fanplanner has been updated, so at 390k it's hard to fit him in for me ;)

Thats only because Monty lowered the magic number to make the salary cap match the AFL one. You will notice everyones price has dropped slightly, Hayes' discount hasnt been factored in yet.
Ok, thought it may have been inline with the DT gold subscription prices, just the magic number then for now? Will certainly reassess if he gets a further discount, cheers :)

Yeah, from what I know (which is never much :P) the official prices and positions wont be released (and by that, I mean made available to the subscribers) until after the PSD/RD so every player can be included.
At the moment, Monty hasnt given Hayes any discount at all, he is treating him on his scores from his 2 games last year as if it were a 22 game average. If VS is consistent with previous years, Hayes SHOULD get quite a reasonable discount :)
I bet he does his hamstring.

....you're a shocker meow :o
hamstring tears are common injuries after a conventional ACL recon though, so it is a valid statement
really? That's pretty interesting. Do you happen to know why?
(ftr, literally no sarcasm, I'm a bit interested :P )
When you have an ACL Recon your Hamstring is grafted, folded and put in your knee to die and then regrow into a new ligament in your knee.
Therefore you will have a very weak hamsting for a while.
cheers, I think I'd heard that before, but for some reason did not take note of it.
This is probably asking too much, but do you know what the % increase of injury is?
if you don't know off the top of your head, that's cool I'll google it tomoz and post it then :P
nope not sure. it would be lower for an afl footballer than an average joe though, just because they have better rehab facilities, more time etc.
mmm, maybe. Afl players also have a far more active lifestyle, and more strain on the hamstring though
Knee reco 32 soon what's your thoughts on him? I think he is great value if fit and well
well if anyone can do it, its lenny
Can Lenny get back to near his best?
No.
Good Value?
Yes.
Some news on lenny.. 29/1/2012
http://www.sportal.com.au/afl-news-display/hayes-to-play-nab-cup-158396
Hayes, a three time All-Australian, admitted it would be optimistic to expect him to immediately return to his pre-injury form but said that he had never felt as fresh entering preseason training.
