Question:
What will Barlow average in 2012?
Option 1: Above 115
Option 2: 112-115
Option 3: 108-111
Option 4: 104-107
Option 5: 100-103
Option 6: Below 100
Haven't heard much about this previously dt god. People looking at jumping on at the 365k price tag? Or are we keener to let this ship sail?
toot toot aaalllllll aabbbooooaaaaaaaarrrrrrdd!!!!!!
If his pre-season form is anything like his pre-injury form, it would be very hard to say no.
he's in my team, locked and loaded. Way too good to refuse at that price
Reckon he will be in a few, mine included. Great value for what we all know he is capable of.
think he will be one of the first picked in my team, and plenty of others!
Hasn't made it into my team. Him and Palmer are the two players that have been unlucky as both could get into my team. Palmer just needs mpp (mid/fwd) and Barlow needs to average 110+ during Pre season or have selwood, Gazza, swan or pendles have an injury Pre season (touch wood)
It is between him and shuey and barlow wins by the margin of this years melbourne cup.

not sure how a person with fyfe in their name can even think about shuey over barlow
Im actually a Port/GWS supporter who whishes fyfe would move to power (who wouldn't want him)

But the question is, would Fyfe want to move to the Power? 8)

Yeah locked for me too. Such a bargain.

It would appear that he is not the lock that many of us hoped. Not yet anyway.
i think most know he isnt having a preseason i still think at his price he is a good pick. This article personally has me looking at picking him this year and next year, if he pefroms this year will be a lock next year
He didnt have a prper preseason in his first year, and wo know what happened his first year.
He'll be right. :)
There's a write in the west Australian today with a pic looking fit as a bull, saying that he is flying on the track
What the article failed to mention is that the training session was only 50 mins long and he completed 40 mins of that. Then there was running etc after the main skills session.

Don't pick him then he's no good!
I wasn't going to pick him, reguardless of surgery or not.

Hmmm thanks lucky, i lost my key ages ago :P
Pretty simple just wondering what everyone thinks Barlow will avg in 2012, also please comment the minimum he would have to average to be a worthy selection in 2012. Please vote, thanks.
For a cash cow at least 105, and 110 for a keeper
I'd be happy with an average around 100 to 105 but he should be able to push it to around 110 if he plays out the season uninjured. :P
If it is +100, then LOCK. At his price, you cannot go past him.
barlow had 2 low socring DT games last year, one was a 25 from being the sub. The other was a 47 against the dogs when they got killed and was the last game of the season and to me it looked like barlow looked tired. Remove those and he averaged 100. Give him a full preseason ( correct me if this is incorrect) and a freo team that should easily be top 8 and maybee push for the top 4 and i would think he should average simular to his debut season.
To me there is no reason not to lock this guy into your team, unless other injury concerns come up.
113.87 approx.
Barlow doesn't get a discount? Played less than 10 games so he should be a 10% discount?
*Note, clutching at straws a bit here as I'm 10k over my cap :P

.......its a conspiracy ele :P
Interesting .... good question
yeah, VS dont really follow any rules. Should be a 10% discount, but isn't :P
How much?
Elephants clutching at straws just doesn't seem right somehow.
DTtalk mentioned that VS adjust certain players prices (usually increase) like porpz for instance and barlow so they dont become automatic locks

Hahaha
Yeah okay really would like that extra 30-40k :P Got my self to 1.5k under the caqp hahaha
I didn't realise that... I like that VS tinker a bit, we whinge that teams are too similar so making sure we don't have any ridculous premium deals is kind of a good thing.
On a similar note I'd also like to see a 10% loading on DPP values to reflect their increased relevance in the fantasy game and give KPP a bit of a look in!
haha. just be patient and wait a week until dt opens. u might find ur actually 30k over or in fact under haha pre season prices always a little wrong

The fact that the assistant coach has been released and the FP prices are identical to that makes me a little anxious. Oh well, I think it's subject to change ::) :P

His age multiplied by the age of his dog divided by his average in 2010 subtracted by his 2011 average and divided again by the age of his lady-friend.
To answer your question, purely a guess :P
that would mean barlows average would be infinite, considering his average in 09 was 0 :P
infinite average?
I think I might look at this guy now......
shower bahahahahaa

You might be joking but I think you are not far from the mark. Give him a full preseason and he could well average 110+

I genuinely think that he will average 107+ but I am hoping for something around the 112-115 mark as I said.
Docker Barlow has unfinished business

Little more than three weeks out from the NAB Cup, he now feels he is finally hitting his straps with an eye towards playing an early part in the pre-season.
Not for me. A bargain yes but need to see something first.

Baha, good call.
I'd say 105+. Not being greedy.
110+ is a realistic expection. Would take 105+ at his price.

Yeah if he's fully fit i don't see why he wouldn't avg 110+, 2010 is proof of that.
2010 was two years ago... Nah screw it, he has the skills :)
Without palmer in the team, this guy is a lock.
GOLD SYDNEYROX LOL

not stupid im probably going both, i might even remove swan for Gibbs if i have too
Now I didn't do DT in 2010 which might have something to do with this, but is Barlow the lock that everybody is making him out to be?
The new shiny website has sparked my brain into action and now I am starting to properly take notice of all these extra options.
Trengove, Sloane, Shuey, Smith and Vince are all in a similar price range. Don't get me wrong, Barlow is an awesome proposition. But is he really so much better than all these others that 95% of teams should take him instead?
Now someone sane come and convince me about Barlow again
I took Shuey...
not in my team but Curnow could be a smokie normally Walker wins the time trial at Carlton but Curnow beat him
I also think Barlow is an overrated prospect... but it is tough to find someone else to fit...
had you played in 2010 you would have no doubts. I remember that even in his last game he made his breakeven then got his leg broke, what a DT hero
That is why I'm not going with him in my initial squad until NAB. Just to see how he goes.
His price is tempting though. I have the cash to upgrade to Stanton instead of going Barlow and I'd still keep the same team. Just less cash to spend.
I think Barlow will serve you better than Stanton, mostly
