Title: Hamish Mcintosh
Post by: Voldemort on October 14, 2011, 12:46:46 PM
Will people still be getting him even though he will remain at North? Will Goldstein will get the bulk of the ruck duty, or will it be spread out?

Petrie will become their permanent forward and Goldy and HMac will share the ruck load i think

would help if Goldy went down with injury

Im pretty sure the plan will be petrie FF, Hmac CHF but also taking probably 20-30% of the ruck time. Dont want goldy to go down with injury :( .

If he can do anything close to what petire did palying a simular role i think he will be a good pickup. People said dont get petrie as he wont get much ruck team and he ends up in the AA team.

i know you don't want goldy to go down to injury but surely that would help HMAC enormously?

Petrie was outstanding last year, probably the pick of the year really.

... I don't think they can fit all 3 in really, too similar. Happy to be wrong.

Essendon hasn't found a way with Ryder/Hille/Bellchambers yet. Collingwood couldn't do it with Jolly/Fraser.

But I guess Petrie is injury prone, so HMac is a more than handy back-up.

But I won't be getting him in DT this year.

Fixed :)

I'll be avoiding HMac too if he stays at North.

hmm...

might just pick the two best ruckman in the NAB cup regardless of their history

mmm think it damages all 3's fantasy value... at this early stage its a pass for me on all 3

you are probably correct about hmac and goldy but i dont see it hurting petrie in fact it might help, basically all his points come from makrs kicks and goals. The only way i see it hurting is if hmac steals alot of his delivery.

If we keep Hmac i dont see why we would pick up fev.

I would have loved hmac to richmond for lids and a petrie fev combo. Was never going to happen though.

That deal would never EVER be done deledio is arguably the best running defender in the competition statistically the best both offensively and defensively, not to mention he is a number 1 draft pick that can absolutely change a game especially if freed to the midfield aswell as being a very important marketing tool for the tigers HMAC can be a very very good player but he is older injury prone and plain and simple not as good or important as deledio. That trade would be an outrage and definitely would never have been considered.

Hmac for connors + some throw off pick?

I am probably going to pick up HMac even if he stays at North. He could still average decently and at his price it would be hard to refuse picking him up.

Not sure how well HMac would score in that 3rd tall player role, I mean that was the role Bellchambers played at the bombers most of the year and his scoring opportunities were pretty slim from memory. He's a bit too mid priced unknown for me, would rather look into Cordy and Giles as my 3rd and 4th ruck, maybe even the Derrick X if the Tigers finally wake up to how shower their current rucks are.

Derrickx won't get games now Maric is there

HMac over Cordy anyday, Cordy does not look like much of a future DT gun, he is playing more of a key position role in the back

If Hmac is cheap (Which he will be)then you should get him. He should share the ruck work with Goldstein and get a few goals up forward.

Looks like the number of premium forward will decrease yet again next year... :(

If he's really cheap and DPP, I might consider him on the bench. Probably ignore him entirely though as I don't like the three talls. Still, we can watch the NAB cup and see...

Yeah, catching up on what I missed with assignments and exams. To be honest, I was disappointed to see a lot of it break down into petty rambling and keyboard warriors. Still, some good points in some of the posts but most I didn't consider worth commenting on...

Hey guys .. Im just wondering will Hmac get first team starts and average the 89s that he used to get

nah he'll share the ruck load pretty evenly with goldy and kick a couple goals up forward, currently in my team and am expecting him to average 75-85

he averaged 89 from 1 game last year i wouldn't pick him based solely for his performance in one game

he's in my team mate. petri came back from a long lay off last year and exceeded my expectations so i dont see any reason why hmac cannot do the same

its a risk having him as a starting ruck but not a bad risk 75 is about right given that goldy is clearly going to be the #1 ruck. The big scores hmac averages before last season were as #1 ruck. Better than putting a rook on as your starting ruck but not going to get you premium 90+ scores either

i thought he only scored 79..

Look at dean cox's first 3 rounds and ask yourself, 'can i live without coxys first 3?'

I am leaving H-mac alone and looking else-where for rucks. I predict he'll average in the 70's.
