James Mcdonald signs at GWS as a assistant coach/player. Played 16 games in 2010 for an average of 94. Obviosuly not expecting those numbers but anyone giving him a look in? obviously at his age number of games he will play is the biggest issue. A bit to risk for me but what are your thoughts...
will coach half a season, play half a season as a tagger and will probably average 65-70
Well i'm all about risks in DT, i think i may take it for the first few rounds then upgrade him when his price takes a few rises. Is my favourite Melbourne player of all time.
yeh as i said role too uncertain for me at this stage. Estimate price? by my guess just under 200k at about 180k
I reckon watch his pre-season.... If he looks half decent I'll definitely be on.
No

Surely he wont be anywhere near $200k, hasnt played for a year and his last year wasnt exactly on fire 10 games @ 70
But even at premium rookie $150k odd he would be too expensive for me
Might look at him like i did with Harris this year. Bit more expensive but has experience so will be given the ball more often.

He averaged 94 across 16 matches...
You're thinking about the spud the mighty Lions traded away.
You are right, too fast fingers clicking!!
At this point in time im open to all options. You gotta watch everybody.
If he's the "go-to" man in the GWS backline you've got to sit up and pay attention. NAB cup set-up will tell us alot.
James McDonald was an unselfish player and absolute champion. He will do whatever is best for GWS but that will probably include getting the younger players involved more and his stats will suffer.
If GWS get Chad Cornes then that would be slightly more interesting because Chad with his brother Kane always hogged the ball and had competitions who would get higher stats.
yeah it will all depend on when he will play and what his price is, loving the comaback either way!
When going through mid prices i noticed james mcdonald is now listed @ 98 700. surely this cant be correct he was 230ish the other day?
What does everyone think he will average this year?
I already have 2 centre rookies locked in plus another 5 DPP's that can rotate back and forward. I don't know if he can fit into my side at the moment.
@ that price and playing r1 id have in my starting team as 6th mid. You would think hed ave min of 80 he always racked em up in the past playing for a side always in the bottom of the ladder shouldnt make a diff for this guy.

If he can average 80 at <$100k then he's a lock in any side.
lock 'n load
We talking DT or SC? I think he can average around 75 in SC. Don't expect him to play every game though....
wont be in my team, cant see him playing many games and dont see him averaging that well, think harris.
I would much rather go for a kavanaggh or mitchell at a simular price

We are in the DT section so i'll assume DT.
the difference between harris and mcdonald is that Harris has never been a prolific fantasy footballer, while mcdonald averaged 94 in 2010, playing for a pretty showerhouse melbourne team.
Yeah, nice point zip. Harris didn't average 91.4 in his last year of AFL footy for the wooden spooners.
94.7*
He is priced at 98.7 DT 106.6 SC. In like flin for me in both games atm.
oh, cash wise, I thought you meant like average wise, and I was like...????

Sorry mate wasnt saying prices for what you said was just clearing the air about his price :P
He just need to play the first 8 rounds and he should average high 80s hopefully pricing him well and above 200k and swap to a fallen mid. He will be my secons bench

you have to remember though Harris was 7 years younger this year, than mcdonald will be
looking at harris' score trends, he was on a decline when he finished up at NMFC. Mcdonald however was tossed from melbourne after his 3rd most successful DT year, and 2nd most successful SC.
His price in both forms of Fan Footy will appeal to many including myself. Age is a concern for me but if his Nab form is good it will be difficult for me to say no. A genuine chance to line up in my side but as i said Nab form will be the make or break for me. Theres alot of good young rookies that could fill that spot so its a wait and see at the minute.
Tom Mitchell, Koby Stevens and James McDonald all fighting for one spot... The NAB should be interesting...
