Title: Chad Cornes, old gun or just gun.
Post by: Holz on September 12, 2011, 06:18:47 AM
with the old DT gun chad cornes going to GWS would anyone be crazy enough to pick him next year. Based on this years pricing he will be about 275k to start.

If he has a good preseason i might be crazy enough to pick him up.

I was crazy enough to get him this year.
He's a gun! 50/50 for next year. Being a DEF/FWD would help his cause.

will have him on the radar

hopefully he'll be like a cheaper version of Nathan Bock

agreeed, but doubt there will be any consistency in his scores

and will he play forward or back?

I blacklisted him a few years back. Once you go black (listed) you never go back.

Yes, he's on my blacklist as well...likely to be far too inconsistent.

When he plays up front kicking over 50% of their goals then you'll all miss out.

even still, 50% of their goals=3 per game lol

His last few games he played, were good. From memory he tonned it up just before the Pies game. Coz he's a versatile player he could be given a run in the mids, defence, or even the ruck (unlikely) ;)

you will win nothing selecting cornes :P

you don't get points for watching the ball go over your head ;D

When there is a guy who is cheap and has averaged 100 as a defender you have to look at him. Same with lake

lake still has some currency....not sure I believe Chad still has it left in him....

don't suspect he will be cheap enough to really capture my interest....

i dont think i will get him but if he has a good NAB i might look at Cornes. Lake is in my team unless he can prove he shouldnt be, if cooney can get his body right could be a good smokie also.

I will be looking at all the afl players going to GWS very carefully in the NAB and preseason.

Lake was one of those players that just had an up season when the Doggies game style revolved around him. Bit like this season with Birchall and Suckling: Should the game style at Hawthorn change for next season, which knowing Clarko it will, their scoring might not be as great, or it could be better. ;)

Slip some Prozac into his Gatorade and he might just make it into a few fantasy teams.

It's Chad's own confidence that needs strengthening, above our own, before we can remotely consider him as fantasy option.

will Davis, Gunston and Maric make your team next year Mcrooster. It's getting tedious (sic)

Holz...

Cooney ?? really??  with his knee, will only probably play max 20 games, and only 15 of them fit...

I had plans on him too for SC particularly, but I'm walkin away....but good luck to you if you take him ;)

cornes would need a stellar pre season for consideration imo. I might go and check in on GWS training before making my decision :P

if he is thrown back to CHB he could have a nathan bock type year. he still showed signs at port

I would wait till part way through the season and use him as a upgrade target because GWS will be like GC at the start and struggle but get good at the end of the season :)

i dont think he will be a premium though maybee an 85 average, i was looking more to get him at the start than upgrade him to someone like shaw, suckling etc...

Just finished staying at the same hotel as all the port players in bali and cornes was by far more ripped and in better shape then any other port player.

This is Chad?

Kane came 48th in the 12km City-Bay Fun Run last Sunday if anyone was curious. Those that don't know what it is it's well, pretty self-explanatery.....
12km run, from the City to the Bay (Glenelg) :)
