As a team development tool and getting to know your peers I have often used the following as a means to 'get to know one another'.
Post 6 things about yourself, 5 of which are the truth, 1 of which is a lie.
The first person to pick the lie takes the lead and posts their six, and so on......
I'll begin ;D
1. Honest
2. Played footy at North Adelaide
3. Speaks two languages
4. In-laws won the lotto
5. Played charades with Jimmy Barnes
6. Have a gun licence
considering one of these has to be a lie, no.1 can't logically take place in this game, therefore that's my choice.

Nice methodology Zip, but no. I am toooo honest at times, a trait that ultimately will serve me well ;)
You don't have a gun license
Maybe toooo honest, but not TOTALLY honest - I'm with Zippy!
I was gonna answer with:
1. I always lie.
After that, the moons my baby!
4. the inlaws have won the lotto??

You'll get pimples on your tongue Pros ;)
Sure there's a certain masquerade that goes on in here in the forum, but if you ask me a direct question I will always give an honest answer.
Next?
*pothead has it 8) - although it could be argued they did win it when they got me as a son-in-law ;D

I will support that argument!
... and having run some of those experiential learning thangs - isn't there just always at least one like me in every group?

It really is about the clarity of your own perspective ;) If you were to look literally at the '4. In-laws won the lotto' and understood it to be that idea of them winning the coin (as was my intention) you would gain insight to what I'm about, truly, rather than second guessing at what 'could' I be about.
Did it not come across that I listed my
#1 truth as honesty :)
Over to you pothead...
So, what would a truthful person lie about?
Something that means nothing to them, or something so important it's worth lying about?
Quote from: Prospector_1 on June 14, 2011, 12:00:11 AM

1. I think it's healthy that my kids believe in Santa
2. Telling a 6yr old Leukemia patient that it's supposed to hurt before you can feel better
3. Am I going to die?
4. Does my butt look big in this?
5. How fast do you think you were going?
6. Was it good for you honey?
Some are Qs, some are As, McR!
4 and 6 matter less to me - but we enter the realm of "white lies" - matter less to me, but maybe more to the person being answered!
btw, I take the how fast as a children running type question, as police always ask you "What was your reason for going at ... kph?"
It's in their training, mainly coz you can't win!
This was meant to be a light hearted exercise into getting to know one another, nothing too in depth if need not be. Would you care to take the reign Pros in light of potheads reluctance ???
*are you watching Footy Classified?- Told you that Goody would be Crows next Coach ;)
Happy to, McR, didn't know the rules, but guessing that whoever gets the lie right is then supposed to post 6 statements.
Yes, watching FC, but paying more attention to you! Missed about Goody.
So -
I love my family
I love my fantasy footy
I'm good to my mum
I am a nuclear physicist
I spend my work time improving the company
I am ruthless with under-performing employees
you're not a nuclear physicist?
sorry ziplock!
:( I thought I had it for sure by process of elimination :(
Review the evidence, Sherlock!
I'm gonna guess, that you don't love your fantasy footy. You despise the frustration it brings each week.
If only you were right, cavey!
Your not ruthless with underperforming employees?
100% correct, Boomz! Sandi's still on my bench - I still have Rawlings, Gibbs, Riewoldt & Cross in one or other of my teams.
Your turn ...
C'mon Marcz, Boomz has gone gutless on us (I call that "peer pressure").
haha I'm back now :P
1. I speak 4 Languages
2. I love cooking
3. I live overseas
4. I have over 10000 footy cards
5. I am vegetarian
6. I'm not an australian citizen
excellent challenge Boomz!
I'm calling the footy cards!
I actually do have that many :-X I stopped counting at 10k got too hard haha
Magic!
Who was yer 1st card? Who's yer favourite (current & past).
How do you plan to keep that collection going, once you can't do it? (My dad collected stamps, and I gave my collection to him!)
My actual first was Hird & definitely my favourite but then my grandad gave me his & I don't think I've even looked at them all... Current really not sure.
If I have a son I'll give them to him or someone else in the family :) I used to collect stamps too think I still have them somewhere hm...
You just missed a huge rave from me regarding the stamps. Internet broke!
My bet is you will have a son. So nice to have the collection from yer G'papa!
I want to tell the stamp story. Please indulge me!
When my dad died, I "helped mum out" by taking our joint collection to my place. We had to get mum ready to move house: 2 years after dad died, she was ready, couldn't maintain the house, too far outta town fer me to do it, too scary for bushfires.
I took a full car home. Nice little blue Subaru - looks like a WRX but is "just" a Liberty.
Stolen from me that night - used for two armed holdups that weekend!
Bye bye stamps. Bye bye favourite car. (1998 Liberty, Bielsten shocks, MoMo steering, sun roof, sweet lookin' mags, etc.)
Aaah, life - got a silver one now - rego is less that 200 different! Those Bielsten model Liberty's were the test case for the WRX!
1998 model - anyone else love 'em?
Never seen the stamps again. Still can't afford the extra insurance to own a supercharged car. Tell ya what though - try driving a Subaru!
i think you don't live overseas Boomz?
ahhh cool idea 8)
yep im in when the next one goes up ;)

BOOMZ, im going to say you are in fact an Aussie citizen?
Yep ;) Probably not for much longer :-X
Yay! I won!

It is in fact true.
I studied Robotics and Mechatronics at Swinburne University (but dropped out), I completed a Certificate IV in IT at RMIT University and finally, I completed a double Diploma in Events and Management at Holmeslgen TAFE.
Weird mix, hey?

Strangley enough i have. First off in 2004 was selected as a keeper. Then the following year played as a striker a bigger bodied one at that. Then got slightly fitter and played through the midfield in 2006, before ending up at right back the following year.

2. I have been injured at least 12 times.
3. i really hate Port
4. My favourite player is Michael Hurley
5. i kicked a winning goal in a match (AFL) when playing back pocket.
well, IO can see 1,3,4 being true, so it's either 2 or 5.
I'm going 5 is a lie :P
I'm going to say 4. I'm not a Essendon supporter (in fact I loathe them) but if I were, how could you go past Dustin Fletcher?
3. You really hate Port. Just as an educated guess because I do not know many people that like Port.
When you say AFL you mean playing Footy at a regional level or in the AFL? Either way I doubt anyone could kick a footy that far o.O
not from the back pocket, when i was playing in the back pocket.
2.
just had a look at all the answers and now..
1. I do plan to play for East Perth, easy way into AFL 8)
2. I have had at least 12 injuries; Achillies, Calf x3, torn hamstring, concussion, broken hand, hand tendon, foot tendon, dislocated shoulder, broken toe, strained quad and many more.
3. Yes i do really hate port, almost as much as Collingwood O.o
4. Yes, i idolise him.
5. Is the lie, i play half-back 8)
