Title: The Reg Grundy issue..
Post by: HotTiges on May 23, 2011, 10:52:06 PM
Dud pick at the start of the year. Looked hard at Adcock and was worried with past injuries. Now with Adcock in career best form maybe worth while getting him.. my team has no obvious upgrades at the mo and Reg is in the gun.. here's my side

Goddard, Deledio, Gibbs, Enright Grundy, Heppell, Lower (Batchelor, Thompson, Puopolo)

Swan, Judd, Selwood, Mundy, Thompson, Harris (D Swallow, Jaocbs, Bewick)

Cox, Smith (Sandi, J Tip)

Franklin, Pavlich, Goodes, N Riewoldt, J Riewoldt, Petrie, Darling (Tapscott, Richardson, Siposs)

Only problem is I only have 23k so I can't sideways trade.. it would need to be either Tappy > Lynch or Swallow > Mzungu..

Go swallow to Mzungu gives you MPP and flexibility.

Reg > Fisher,Shaw,Scotland or hold Reg and get Newman after the bye

What about Tappy to Chappy will make you happy! this will allow you to place petire in the ruck and sell smith the week after for a cash cow to get reg out and a defender in...

hmm, both good options..

Smith just seems to keep punching out handy scores.. plenty of cash made but could cash in for your injury prone ruckmen who we all hope will have a good run!

i do want Chappy in. Not fussed about the finals bye because I intend to keep Darlings for the year pending any incidents..

Newman's a solid choice. Not on my list as i don't want 2 players from 1 side starting.. Likewise Scotland who is underated in fantasy terms and would of been a better buy then Gibbs. Just thought Scotland would be a scapegoat. Shaw or Adcock the obvious choices. Chaplin for uniqueness.

IMO Grundy was picked as a keeper, so shouldn't be wasting a trade just yet. Not many prems doing well in def anyways so rather get another prem for a rookie instead of dropping a guy who has scoring potential.

Better off going Swallow > Mzungu then Thompson > Shaw/Adcock if you're concerned about the backs.

His scores were always going to drop off once Malceski came back into the side.  IMO, keep him as your d7 and work on upgrading your team rather than sideways trading at this point.

yeah well if he doesn't take the opp full fwd he should score well usually..

suppose any spare trades leftover will be used to fix Grundies up.

Swallows > Mzungus and Tappy > Chappy , Petrie R2..

petrie had a killer game.

in hindsight yes, but really you can't anticipate these things.  The 'potential' rewards were too great to ignore.

Just so happens SJ is going to be a huge benefactor over the 'easier' opponents, rather than Chapman.

In general, 80% of the forwards this week have done poorly.
