Title: Footy Memorabilia
Post by: bomberboy0618 on April 28, 2011, 07:24:15 PM
A thread to value and brag about your memorabilia.
I have a couple of good things, a random footy record from 1993, a 1993 prelim final one for adelaide v essendon, a 1993 gf one, a nd an afl-members only 1993 gf review.
I have a full set of hs original print publications bought with the paper from 1999 with all 16 teams in the set.
Also a book detailing essendon's history from origin-1985 with full page b&w photos of every premiership team.
Any of these worth anything?
Not that im ever selling jw.

I have that Essendond book. Also own the one celebrating 150 years of Footy.
I have James Hird framed photograph (signed) and a 2000 jersey signed by James Hird (no. 5)

2000 premiership poster signed by all the players and Sheeds. A framed photo of me and Sheeds at the footy (my dad knows him.)
Framed photos of the 1911 & 1912 premiership teams which have been passed down since my great grandfather.

Of course I have every premiership we ever won on video (or the 5 that are available :P)

Ummm......I thikn that is pretty much it.

Bump.
Guys I am looking for a value on a footy card I bought, anyone know anything about valuing them?
It is a Tony Modra Silver Premium Team 2001 card in mint condition btw, cost me $2. Did I get ripped off or is it worth something?

i got heaps of footy cards and golds cards with the likes of lockett and ablett

worse thing is though i had a alex jesaulenko redemption card

which is a hand signed card before the card it glossed over

(i.e a proper select and afl endorsed signature card)

problem is when we were moving when i was younger we lost it  :'(

also have some normal cards signed BP got for me including my all time fav player Paul Salmon

technically since they ain't endorsed by the afl and select and the permanent marker goes over the top of the cards they ain't worth nothing but to me they are priceless especially Salmon's

I'l give you a $1.80 Buddy. I reckon in time Dudge that will be worth a small fortune, a piece to hang onto for sure.

All i have is a heap of singed bubble gum cards, worth less than a $1.80 in total. Oh and i have an original Crows Jumper from 1991 also worth less than a $1.80 to some but priceless to me.

My most prized sporting memorabillia is a match used ball from a twenty20 big bash game signed by allan border and mark waugh. l have a mix of different memorabilia,

My pride and joy is a booklet released by the Essendon Football Club in 1960, detailing the history of the club from our formation in 1871.

l also have 3 "exclusive coles production" Collingwood football cards - D. Healy, Lou Richards and Kevin Wylie

A signed copy of "Tigers among the Lions" written by Ian Chappell, which details the 1972 Australian Cricket Team tour

A signed copy of the Street Machine special edition " BROCK - the man - the machines - the legend"

This'll make some people laugh...

...me and a friend of mine were walking down the street few days ago and we walked past an Op Shop nearby. In the window they had a range of AFL gear (scarves, jumpers, posters, etc.) but one thing caught my mate's eye.

A shoebox full of trading cards, 20c each. I could tell by his reaction that he'd love a couple just for the sake of it. But alas, the store was closed and he works when the store is open. Bummer.

However, the very next day, I went back when the store was open, walked in and enquired about the trading cards.

Later that night, when my friend came home, to his utter amazement, I surprised him by buying the entire box! :o Yep, the entire shoebox of trading cards are ours for the bargain price of $20.

We sorted them all out and ended up with:

Close to an entire standard set from the 1996 Centenary collection (just missing two!)
Half of the golden set from the same series (including a couple of rare ones)*

Most of the ones from the 2011 series...

...along with heaps of doubles/triples/quadruples and more.

Money well spent! :D

*PS. Story gets even better, one of those rare gold 1996 cards...I found out its current value....pretty much what I paid for the entire box!!! ;D ;D ;D
