Title: The Big Prize Kenyan Knockout
Post by: Master Q on April 20, 2011, 11:57:22 AM
Hey Guys. Though I'd post this on here as it's a very good way to win prizes. It's not only a Knockout cup, it's also so a Youth pull comp.

Knockout Comp

If you win the Knockout comp, you'll win 64 days membership with runner up winning 32. However there are some expectations and rules. I'll post them at the end.

Youth Pull Comp

All you have to do is pull 1 Kenyan during the comp, regardless if you are still in or knocked out. All your pulls must stay in your squad until the final as the big prize is 9 Months Membership, yep that's 9 Months Membership for the highest total ratings of all of your youth pulls ( For example if you have 2 pulls of 20,000 your rating will be 40,000).

FINAL RULES

1.U24 only with at least 2 youth players

2.Must pull at least one Kenyan during the tournament (but see 5)

3.Must play at least one Kenyan in round 1

4.Must play at least 2 Kenyans in the 2nd and subsequent rounds (Which probably means you will need to pull Kenyan at least twice.

5.9 months membership for the highest total rating of Kenyan youths pulled during the tournament

6.Kenyan pulls from 25 April 2011 to the Monday before the final and remaining in your squad when the final is played are eligible, ratings will be taken from the day of the final.

I can't join the knockout comp as I don't think I could field a U24 league. I may do the YP comp.

I think you have to be in the Knockout Cup to be in the YP comp though. I'm not too sure. Ask a question in the Discussion thread you'll get an answer.

It doesn't start till a few weeks I'm sure you could just play a few extra youths and maybe buy a 20/21 yo?

This format could suit me ... only problem is I don't have any Kenyan's.

Q - A quick question. If I pull a crappy kenyan (or 2) can I just bat them at 10 & 11 and not bowl them at all, allowing for my better players to play key roles in the outcome of the match?

Of course. You've got a few weeks till the comp to pull, or just pull in Week 1 & 2 then you meet the requirements. If you really want to win you could even buy a young Kenyan which could give you a stronger team then just playing a very bad youth pull because you have no one else.

Yeah I thought about buying a young Kenyan, but I just had a look at the TM and there are no good ones listed. If I was to be eligible to enter, it would have to be via youth pulls.

There should be at least 1 good kenyan on the market from now till the start of the comp. Are you entering Baz?

I'm on the lookout for 20/21 year olds I must admit. Then I would have 3, and have to play 8 youths :P The majority of my players are 24/25/26.

Why don't you just enter, and just play your normal team with a Kenyan (even if that means your normal youth team + a kenyan) and just try and win the YP comp. I think it's pretty easy to win.

This is going to be mine:
1. ???
2. ???
3. Hugh McInnes (Accom/Exp batsman) 20 yrs
4. Darweshi Mau? (on the market atm, Accom/Exp batsman) 20 yrs. Kenyan, not that I really need to buy one, I may play my Kenyan youths
5. ???
6. Kai Athans (Keeper) 19 yrs
7. ???
8. Geddy Lee? (on the market atm, Outs/Outs RWS) 23 yrs
9. Ger O'Niell (Bowler) 19 yrs
10. Adam Teakles (Outs/Exp bowler) 21 yrs
11. some youth

So very weakened team! :o May need to go and buy some 22/23 year olds, on the search for 20/21 year olds anyway though.

This is my team for Round 1 (ATM). It's pretty much the same as usual. (XI = They are in my usual XI)

1.
2. Lansing *NED* 23 XI
3. Puja *IND* 22 XI
4. Perice *WI* 21 XI
5. Mordt *ZIMB* 19 XI - Youth
6. de Bruin *RSA* 21 XI (Most of the time)
7.
8. Alleyne *WI* 22 XI
9. Affonso *BERM* 22 XI
10. Wainwright *NZ*
11. Hemming *ZIMB* 24 XI

That's actually perfect, I've 2 Free spots with a Youth already in the team (in Mordt). Only problem is I don't have a Senior Kenyan besided Menza who is 25. I've got lots of Kenyans Youths, with 1 of them probably going to get a call up to U19 Level, Karari Sheikh so I think I'll put him at No.7 as a bowler. Then I can just put anyone I want at No.1.

Title: Re: The Big Prize Kenyan Knockout

This wouldve been my team if i couldve entered :(

1. Percy McDowall *AUS* 22 XI
2. Padman Arnold *SL* 18
3. Jan-Ruben De Rooy *NED* 22 XI
4. Murray Scott *AUS* 22 XI
5. Roy Malcolm *BERM* 21
6. Ethan Burke *CAN* 22 XI
7. Chitundu Pilliani *KEN* 24 XI
8. Eustance Wilson *AUS* 22 XI
9. Klaas-Jan Stam *NED* 21 XI
10.
11. Chris Majorbanks *ENG* 22 XI

In 10 it wouldve been Batty or Ali both 19, dpending on the wicket.

So i wouldve fielded a pretty strong side IMO.

Wouldn't you know that from junior stuff as well. Like U16 Footy, U14 Cricket etc...

Barlow you still need a Kenyan in that side. And in Round 2 (If you are in it) you'll need 2.

1. Youth pulls no longer need to be kept for the duration of the comp, but do still need to be kept for a week. The initial rating of the player will be the rating use in the calculations.
2. A clarification to the rule - "2. Must pull at least one Kenyan during the tournament." A clarification - you must have made at least Kenyan pull before your round 1 match. So between 25th of April and 12th of May. This is to ensure those who lose in the first round make their pull.

New rule clarifications, you should of got a message about this.

The guy I'm playing has 7 U24 yo, so that's some good news. Except 1 of them is a Kenyan NAT  :-X

^^^^ That guy is going to be sold after the game. So I can see his stats, Exp/Exp is good for his age but isn't anything dangerous  :D Actually have a decent chance of winning.
