Post by: benjy251090 on September 22, 2010, 01:22:04 PM
Here is just a very rough idea at a team, i know i have to many GC players but I am not 100% sure on other rookies who will play at this time

Backs:

Goddard, Kelly, Broughton, S. Selwood, Adcock, Otten, Dowler - A. Hooper, Iles, Toy

Mids:

Swan, Boyd, Chapman, Deledio, Swallow, Harris - X. Clarke, A. Krakouer, Liberatore

Rucks:

Sandilands, Jolly - Z. Smith, Daw(cheapest F/R)

Forwards:

Didak, N. Riewoldt, Gray, Dangerfield, Hurley, Petterd, Petrie - Dixon, Matera, Talia

Just Questioning players........

Scott Selwood?whats he like?
Michael Hurley? Should be a back?
Which Swallow?Andrew or David?

More player options.......

What about Jonno Brown?should be about $380 a bargain :)
Chris Knights from Adelaide..........
Bernie Vince from Adelaide.........

I like.......

Sanderlands and Jolly in ruck very solid......
Goddard and Kelly as MPP for mid swapping with Delidio
Didiak and Chapman Swaps Mid/Fwd exactely what my plan is next year and the same 2 players...........

Kelly and Broughton definitely in my team nexy year so good choice. Yes, there is a tad to many Gold Coast players there, would hurt you long term if you kept them.

I don't believe i am going with Chapman next year, as mid - late season, he has been getting to much attention off and on the ball, getting many injuries from heavy contact.

Deledio this year has been an upset for me, expecting a lot from him. As he has been played in the Back half for most of this year, he has mainly been getting the handballs out to the running Richmond player. But when he got put in the middle late in the season, he knew exactly what to do and where to go, and he seems to like to get a mark. He's a risky choice for next year, depending where the Richmond Coach wants to play him.

Scott Selwood has definitely improved this year playing a couple of ripping games. But the reason why i think he got this is because of his brother, how he had injury problems. Scott Selwood is known to play a horrific game, another risk.

Robbie Gray and Patrick Dangerfield, i was expecting a lot from them this year, especially Dangerfield, but they didn't quite provide what i had hoped for. Gray can take a ripping mark and get a ripping goal from basically anywhere, but i believe he will most of the time come second best compared to Schulz, unless he gets played in the Midfield more often, which he should.

In the end, a great team, just need fixing with the Gold Coast players ;D.Good job.

thanks DF, yeah, i know about the GC players but the problem is i am not sure on many other rookies in terms of where they go so they will more than likely all change :P and next year i will be taking risks with some of the mid-tier players like selwood and stuff

hurley is both F/B h2, selwood is a tagger but gets tackles, D. Swallow, soz, will add that

i have thought about knights but like dangerfield better and i am not sold on vince yet, i think JB will be an upgrade target, especially coming back from injury

Wow didnt know about scott selwood may be a good priced $300 like otten from adelaide him, adcock and selwood would be a lovely last 3 down back with the likes of broughton, goddard or kelly.

Yeah i agree on vince and knights but i like knights as a player he can break the game apart and get a very quick 20 in a couple of minutes just like dane swan. Vince is a risk but i think i have to take it.....

Good luck next year and speak to you over forums again.......

Selwood plays off half back and runs into the midfield. Has potential in a young eagls midfield. He's worth a punt down back. If he's anything half as good as his brother Adam or Joel, he'll be worth it ;).

Hurley is there for MPP purposes with Dowler/Talia up forward. Not a bad choice. Really depends on essendon's form next year. Should play forward and be a focal point. Inconsistency could be bad :(.

Nice to see somebody else posted a team made from the fanplanner :D.

Criticisms....... Well have a pretty similar team to mine :P. Even the rookies!!! :P. Nice use of MPP. Midfield does it well. 2 for backs there and 1 for forwards. Then between forwards and backs. Well used :).

Looks a good start up team. Strong midfield and ruck. Could leave the rest of the field stranded a bit with the mid pricers. Midfield is where you make the money. Could play another rookie there for say Boyd or Andrew Swallow, and upgrade 2-3 mid pricers. Upgrade to Boyd/Swallow mid season when his price drops (everybody drops ;))

I think next year (if the fanplanner is right) will have alot of options in the midfield. Reckon I'll likely go a 3 rookie midfield to cut costs.

Sandilands and Jolly are good buys, pricey for rucks but good buys. I'm going with the ruck combo i had this year, Sandilands and Jamar All Australian they were.

Your welcome on the advice, as that is why i am here ;D

Knights had a lot of injury troubles, and they way he breaks the game can easily earn him a hard tag. Unlike Dane Swan, he will spend most of his time in the forward line, hopefully getting the mark kick goal combo. Great player but risky, i honestly rather go with someone like Schulz who has really stepped up and fulfilled Warren Tredrae's shoes, thats just me though.

What about Nathan Foley? worth a look at number 7 midfield.......

Figured you meant David. Couldn't afford Andrew ;D.

Same with me :'(.

Foley is too pricey for a bench mid :P. Could be a smokie. Yound Tiger midfielder. Handballs alot but a hard worker. Just injuries :(.

Their is 6 spots in the midfield on field. He's a mid pricers so likely a 4th or 5th spot. I prefer rookies for last spot on field as you save alot of cash. Can afford more guns cause of it.

I'm thinking of waiting until Goddard falls. 480k is a bit of cash. Went for some fallen premiums instead to save the dough 8).

Thinking the same about Liba and Hurley down back for me as he IMO will have a breakout year.

Made another team, this one is almost completely different to the other one except for the rucks which wont change barring injury

Backs:

J Kelly (C/B), S Gilbert, B Deledio (C/B), S Selwood, M Hurley (B/F), J Adcock, A Otten - X Clarke (C/B), D Grimes, J Toy

Mids:

D Swan, M Boyd, B Goddard (C/B), A Didak (C/F), N Foley, D Swallow - D Harris, A Krakouer, T Liberatore

Rucks:

A Sandilands, D Jolly, Z Smith, M Daw (F/R)

Forwards:

N Riewoldt, C Rioli, P Dangerfield (C/F), J Waite (B/F), R Petterd (C/F), D Petrie (F/R), J Darling - A Hooper, B Matera, D Wanganeen

I like this team, still has a lot of MPP potential and room to grow, critique away!

backs are going to be good with some good mpp usage with hurley and waite, kelly/ deledio and goddard. i think scotty selwodd will be a single shining light for west coast next year, otten and adcock well under priced. mids are very very strong while still using mpp so nice work there :). hmmm how coinsidental. same rucks :) strong good work. forwards. your weakest positionbut more mpp use. i like rioli in there could be good, riewoldt is a lock and petrie is too. dangers is a danger jumping on and waite will get suspended so prepare yourself. also darling looks to be a bit of a head case but other than that nice work. 8.124/10

i am happy with the team, might just change the forwards a bit and some of the rookies but most of my starting team i am stoked with :D
