Title: Ashmore's 2020 Journey.
Post by: Ashmore62 on December 29, 2019, 09:17:33 PM
First up!
Def: Z Williams, Laird, Sicily, Docherty, S Hill, M Cottrell. Bench. B Smith, Gould.

Mids: Neale, Cripps, Bont, T Kelly, Coniglio, T Green, Valente, Pickett. Bench. D Robertson ? ?

Rucks: Grundy, Sauce. Bench. J Sweet

Forwards: Whitfield, Dusty, Heeney, J Steven, D Cameron, Cavarra. Bench. ? ?

Main concern other than rookies is R2. Would prefer Nic Nat or Martin.

Structure is good,   effectively you have taken Whitfield over Gawn.   think Gawn/Dev is a better overall solution with less risk.

Cheers crowls. Made some slight adjustments, down graded Heeney to rookie to bring in Gawn.

Structure sound - Would probably slot Comben in at R3 though rather than sweet, Allows you to swing Cameron back if Grundy goes down. Also with North having 12 Sunday games nice VC Loop hole.

Cheers Crowls. It seems this year a little easier to sought 14-16 keepers, excepting pre season injury. As u said just the bench to look after before kick off.

Just a little concerned with defensive rookies but need to wait and see. Ely Smith will find it hard to break into best 22.

Sloane hey? That's the surprising one for me...probably the worst pick in that entire price bracket. Either go down to Cogs or find a bit of money to go up to...basically anyone else really.

Solid team otherwise though.

Nice team. Midfield really strong and other lines haven't been sacrificed because of this. Not having Whitfield could hurt your rank if he starts off on fire. Although i understand your reasoning for not picking him. Dylan Roberton is very cheap, however i have to question how the saints will manage his game time/resting (we'll know closer towards the season). thoughts on my team? http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,113593.0.html

Not again lol. Did Nakia pop a knee or something already? I know he doesn't have many runs on the board but he is now 23, an explosive talent in a strong side with DPP for $148K. I reckon he goes 60 minimum but hopefully low to mid 70s. An on field lock surely?

First team with a touch of Goldy in case Gawn doesn't come up.

Issue is bench but have time to adjust. And is Nic Nat to much of a risk? I hope not.

Like the structure a lot!

Pretty much what I'm running with. Wouldn't want to change too much here. Rookies can be smoothed out over after the weekend.

Although... I'm expecting you'll need put a little more $ into one more Rookie on the forward or defensive line.

My suggestion:

Lloyd - Sicily/Laird

Cameron - Bonar
or
Cameron - Brander, then swing Hill onto the Forward line, and Ling/Worrell - Zerk-Thatcher

Good luck for the season!

Edit: didn't see the 46K in your bank until after I posted. You may be able to keep Lloyd with some tinkering  :)

Very close now.

If Young's a non starter rnd1 will come back to Starcevich.
Main risks are Sicily and MacPherson but happy to start with both showing early form.. thoughts please. :)

you have 5 rookies in your team that didn't play the last PS game, thats a problem.

wouldn't you better off basing your team on around the ones that did, yes you will have to pay up for them but at least if nothing changed from March 2 then your set up the best you can be... if 4/5 of them are named then its much easier to revert back to this (your ideal team).

I would be fitting Noble, Starc and Taylor in there, more chance they play than the 5 you have

good luck

Sicily showing early form???
He played 1 Marsh and had 8-9 clangers.

As is said every year form in the preseason means nothing for the premiums as the fringe players re given more opportunity, 1 to expose them and 2 to not risk the ubers when not required.
