No 'Home Ground Advantage' or consumable usage permitted in finals.
Seeding explained,
Seed #1: Gigantor - Most Weekly Wins (5 in total - 5A, 8, 11, 18A & 18B)
Seed #2: Nige - Most Points Scored, (19640, at an average of 935)
Seed #3: Tom - Second Most Weekly Wins (Also 5, however scored total points than Gigantor)
Seed #4: JV - Second Most Total Points (885 per week)
Seed #5: LS - Most Weekly Wins (GL the only other to record a weekly win, LS scored more total points thus claiming seed)
Seed #6: Holz - Most Points Scored (Average of 847)
Leaving Koop, GL & BM to compete in the 'Mass Elimination Final'
Normally 5 would face 8, but given we have 9 teams competing, they will play 6 under the notion that one opponent is preferable to two.
Gigantor has created a wonderful spreadsheet to keep track of your head-to-head matches throughout the UTG Finals.

Despite the best efforts of Dom Sheed on Sunday, Gigantor secured a preliminary finals appearance with Dayne Zorko suffering a hamstring injury in his efforts to chase down the winning score for JV.
In the other qualifying final, the work of SE Bachar Houli was undone by a miserable performance by Patrick Dangerfield, allowing Tom to comfortably progress over Nige.
So Gigantor & Tom take next week off, while Nige & JV will look to avoid a straight sets exit.
Elimination Final Results

The only coach to crack 1200, Holz progressed comfortably over LS, with Williams, Macrae and Grundy doing most of the heavy lifting.
Meanwhile, our mass elimination final was a thriller, 10 points separating all three coaches. Despite the injury to Zorko, Koop emerged victorious, beating GL and BM by 10 and 2 points respectively, both of whom would be regretting some of their decisions at the selection table that would have changed the result.
With Holz & Koop progressing, we unfortunately bid farewell to LS, GL and BM for the 2019 season. I'd like to personally thank the three of you for your involvement and commitment to UTG throughout the entire season, and hope you'll be back for redemption next year!

As we turn to the fixture for next week,
Week #2
Semi Final 1: Nige vs. Koop, winner to play Gigantor
Semi Final 2: JV vs. Holz, winner to play Tom
Highest scoring team for the season copping all the bullshower to have the worst score week one on finals. ::)
Semi Final Results

Despite earlier declaring a straight sets exit on Discord, Nige prevailed over Koop in the first of our semi finals. Houli & Walters were the main culprits, while both coaches had some big scores on the bench, particularly from Brisbane midfielders. Nige will be facing Gigantor next week, while we farewell Koop for a season highlighted by a nailbiting win in our mass elimination final last week.
It all fell apart up front for Holz, with none of Boak, Walters and Lynch reaching the 60 point barrier. Jarryd Lyons nearly covered all three scores combined with a monster 158 for JV. Holz's star unique Jack Macrae did all he could, but a mid-game injury to Sloane summed up a disappointing performance as Holz bowed out for the season. JV will be hoping for more of the same up against Tom next week.

Prelim Previews
Gigantor vs. Nige
On Paper: Gigantor (1123.3) lost to Nige (1124.1)
Key Match-Up: Josh Dunkley vs. Patrick Dangerfield
A ridiculously close match-up on paper, with Nige to win by less than 1DT point on season averages. With both coaches set to run with Newman, Worpel, Kelly & Lyons, there's only 7 uniques for each side. Gigantor will be hoping to take advantage down back, with Zac Williams poised against Nige's Connor Blakely. Both sides will also run with Bachar Houli, however Gigantor will be hoping he doesn't go too large with Nige running the SE. On the other side of the ledger, Nige will be hoping to capitalise with recently crowned pig Brodie Grundy up against Todd Goldstein. Gigantor will surely be relieved to see Adelaide name 2 rucks against the Pies' superstar. Finally, the matchup that may decide the game, Josh Dunkley up against Patrick Dangerfield. Dunkley has been nearly unstoppable since the bye, whereas Danger's form has been a little less reliable. Nige will be hoping to break even with the Doggies' young gun.
Tip: A monster from Dunkley to carry Gig over the line on Sunday for a 30pt win.
I was fielding Worpel before he was cool ;D
Heading into Sunday...

This is anyone's game. A lot will be riding on Dunkley, Williams and SE Taranto to chase down the lead in the penultimate game of the round. A Sloane 60 opened the door for Nige to capitalise, but was thoroughly let down by a poor performance from Blakely. I'll stay with my original tip and back Gig to narrowly get the job done, though I'm sure a 131 from Walters is being missed on field to really make sure of things.
Oh Dear! One of, if not the most dominant player in UTG this season has seen a complete and utter team collapse at the worst possible time. Salem and Lynch were poor, but 8 from DBJ was unfathomably bad. I'm going to go with the curse here and declare that JV CANNOT LOSE. With such even and reliable contributions across the board, JV will be hard to beat next week, and has to be a very serious chance to win the whole thing from here.
Wowsers! :o Seem to remember Tomk posting about bringing in DBJ on discord too, assuming fantasy? ???

A comfortable win for Gigantor in the end, Taranto SE and Dunkley combining for 280+ to secure a spot in the grand final. That marks the end of the road for Nige after a successful 2019 campaign, may you return in 2020 with the aim of taking the next step.
JV rolled home to post a big 1200 score, with 4 tons sitting in the emergency list as well to provide some potential selection headaches ahead of next week. As already documented, it wasn't to be for Tom this week, but a strong 2019 campaign is not to be forgotten. I'm sure he'll be back with some hunger for redemption next year.
As our attention turns to the big final, the main question will be the fitness of JV's ruck Max Gawn. His appearance, or lack thereof next week could potentially be the difference in the big game...
Tight game :-X GG JV!

That's all she wrote for UTG 2019! Max Gawn did the early damage, putting nearly a 100 point buffer on his AFL & UTG opponent Todd Goldstein. Despite some solid contributions across the board, it was too much for Gigantor to recover, as Whitfield & Zorko joined in the party with big tons. Congratulations to JV for taking home the cake in 2019, and to Gigantor for what was, in particular, such a terrific regular season. See you in 2020!
Thanks for the year FTC, commiserations Gig. I had to make the right choices somewhere along the line benching Billings for Cameron and Brouch to have a dud game, glad it was the final! ;D Think this is my first FanFooty title in anything too!

Well done JV, I want to blame Goldy, but my Mids were my only line that won and only just so it was overall team failure haha
My boy Worpel was the one that hurt the most, played him every round I could after picking him up in my very first UTG pack :'( :P
