Title: Round 13 Trades
Post by: RaisyDaisy on June 10, 2019, 04:30:34 PM
Second week of the byes and 3 trades available to make

Teams with the bye
(https://i.imgur.com/VNf42AB.png)

Hore to Fyfe a near lock for me (Considering Bont if I need the extra cash)

Will also look at Hayes to Bewley/Clark and Answerth to Naish

pending team announcements - Moore to Boak, Lockhart to Gray. Will also consider Crouch to Bont although might just wait a week on that one.

Answerth, Atkins and Hore out for Robbie Gray, Blakely and a def rookie is what I'm currently thinking.

Atkins, Hore, Hayes > Sicily/Blakley, Gardner, Bewley

Then

Balta, ROB, Walsh > Dunkley, Oliver/Bont, Clarke

Should leave me with about 150k in the bank, 7 trades and Duursma at D6
And a showerhouse bench haha

Hore to luke Ryan being one

not sure on the others yet

under the pump: Baker, Clark, Corbett
in the mix: Bont, Bewley, Clarke, Naish

Might have to look into how I can keep Hore at this rate.

Feels a bit odd trading out Hore considering he is likely good enough for D6 and continues to score really well, but I already have 6 defenders so having him as D7 is just too much cash, and I guess I will gain more upgrading him to a premo mid too, but still, he's been very good and should have a low BE and more money to make but I've been timing this one for ages now so gotta do it

I was set on Hore to Fyfe, but I think if I grab Bont instead I might actually be able to squeeze in Robbie Gray too for M9/F7 cover

I was looking at something like Hore to Fyfe and Hayes to Bewley, but if Bont and Gray is the alternative then I'd do that, and look to get Fyfe/Neale the following week

Will suss things out tonight

The Gray train seems to be picking up the pace, but in all seriousness I think depth is critical given we still have half a season to go,  Gray is also the perfect player to loop given his high standard deviation.

Doesn't feel right getting rid of a good Hore, and planned on keeping Darcy Moore

Hore to Ryan
Brouch to Fyfe
Atkins to Bewley

Completes the team except Brodie Smith holding the seat warm for Whitfield’s return. Bench stinks and Rocky and Coniglio still on field, but solid apart from that.

Had a look at things and next week I'm definitely doing Walsh to Neale to complete my side so that means it's Bont vs Boak for the 2nd last spot this week

Both have basically scored the same this year, so picking who goes best from here is the call I need to make

Boak is 25k cheaper, which is handy, but I just need to pick one of these 2, and once I bring in Neale next week I will have a complete team of 22 keepers plus Robbie Gray as M9/F7 (he's coming in this week too)

Bont vs Boak?

I like Boak more, I started the year with him for a reason, being a pure midfielder helps counterbalance his terrible disposal efficiency, and with Wines, Gray and Rocky being so injury-prone I cannot see him losing mid time. Bont has a higher ceiling, but relies on goals to boost his score and has to share points with Dunkley, Macrae and Daniel every week.

Definitely doing Scrimshaw (somehow I still have him) to Bewley, then Baker to either Dunkley or Marshall. Would prefer Dunkley but the difference is almost 100k and their average for the season is pretty similar.

For perspective, that extra $100k would allow me to go Hore to Ryan this week or Walsh to Neale next week.

Bont is the player I would choose, just feel there's something simmering & I think you need a player capable of knocking out the occasional 140+ score.

hard choice
Bont - B/E 133 playing Blues where his last 3 have been 124, 145 and 120 Average YTD 112.5
v
Boak - B/E 101 playing Dockers where his last 3 have been 83, 98.95. Average YTD 111.9

probably toss a coin as both can throw in the occasional Stinker and conversely both have big scores in them> Bont probably has the greater deviation  though.

Noticed there's no talk of ziebell yet. Yes I know he still has a bye to come but a BE of on only 39 u could get a nice POD. He has played a few easy teams lately but it's his role that's got me interested. 2 games in the guts with Shaw at the wheel.

Hore, Clark & Balta to Sicily, Bewley & Gray.
Leaves probably one mid spot to upgrade, 2 if I keep Gray as M9/F7.
Hoping next week I get Gardner (if playing), Clarke and Bont/Oliver.

Thanks for the responses guys. It's going to depend on what rookies get picked this week as that effects my options and plans so the 25k difference between the two might make the decision easier for me. Will just have to wait and see by the looks of things

I think Gray scores better, but Hoff covers the extra line (ruck)

Gray all the way, you can always trade in Hoff if a ruck goes down.

Well not really. I'd have to trade an existing keeper to Hoff, so that defeats the purpose

The scenario is this: Fyfe with Hoff as cover vs Neale with Gray as cover

I'm starting to lean towards option 1, because Fyfe probably edges Neale and Hoff covers 3 lines vs Gray 2

Crouch to Bont luxury this round but not next, have decided to wait a week as $$ more important than points.

Gray is currently at F6 but will move to F7/M9 once Mundy sheds some cash, think he averages 90 from here. Plan is to get Baker to Mundy which completes my forward line.

Given we have 11 rounds to go I'm acting early on depth, the forward rookies are garbage so spending money on reinforcements is money well spent IMO.

you are right , fwd rooks are bad and i missed all the tiger rooks so big cash hole at the moment.   nothing in the pipeline either so not sure i can trade to cover my outs through byes.  really need drew to get another game this week and next week.   want to keep hore and trade smith to sicily or ryan but need the additional scoring player so hore goes.   another week dependant on who is selected by the look of it.

im stuck on whether i should use my third trade this week

need to upgrade Liam Baker and Walsh to mids to complete team obv doing Walsh next week

options

Answerth to Bont
Baker to Bont via moving gardiner fwd and answerth to defense but means only 17 playing
Answerth to Daniel via subbing danger to mids this gives me 19 playing and danger as a mid

or just hold and next week i can do Baker to whoever via moving gardiner fwd and answerth to defense
and Walsh to Neale

My trades for this week -

Answerth > Naish
Hayes > Clarke
Atkins > Fyfe

$144,800 to hopefully nab Sloane in 1 trade by going Baker > Sloane via T.Kelly next week.

5 trades left after getting Sloane but still have Smith, Hore and Duursma at D4-D6 whiich will have to do.  :-X

Team will be complete besides that.

B - Lloyd, Hurn, Williams, Smith, Hore, Duursma (Naish, Gardner)

M - J.Kelly, Neale, Cripps, Fyfe, Sloane, Macrae, Oliver, Coniglio (Clarke, Hately, Scott)

R - Grundy, Gawn (Bines)

F - Boak, T.Kelly, Dunkley, Dangerfield, Marshall, Heeney (Burgess, Young)

Answerth > Gardner (via Duursma)
Brodie Smith > Ryan
Hayes > Bewley

Not ideal, would be nice to trade Corbett out this week, but at worst he'll score 10 again and lose 20k.
Decided to keep Hore over Smith even though it hurts my bye structure, as Hore has been incredibly consistent and Smith has been crap with Brown back.

Leaves me with 215k and I'll be able to get Mundy and Telly/Duncan next week.

Pending teams this week:
Hore > Sicily
Duursma > Gardner
Balta > Boak

With the plan for these next week:
ROB (via DPP) > Naish
Stocker > Bont/ Merrett

Houli, Ryan, Laird, Sicily, Williams, Smith (Answerth, Gardner)
Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Macrae, B Crouch, Stocker, Hayes, Scott (Neale, Oliver, OBaker)
Gawn, ROB (Grundy)
Kelly, Dunkley, Boak, Cameron, Heeney, Young (Danger, Schlensog)

Currently 255th & 14 trades and looking at luxury trades of Crouch > Sloane & Smith > Hurn/ Whitfield, if things go to plan.

Hore to Sicily
Atkins to Sloane

I know he'll drop more but I need 18 this week and don't want to field a rookie. Should be a nice VC option too.

If Bewley gets named I'll trade answerth to him.

Bit torn on trades this week..

DEF: Laird, Ryan, Hurn, Williams, Hore, Duursma (Gardiner, Answerth)
MID: Cripps, Neale, Fyfe, Crouch, Macrae, Cunnington, Oliver, Liberatore (Atkins, Stocker, Scott)
RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
FWD: Dunkley, Danger, Daniel, Heeney, Worpel, Balta (Begley, Young)

14 trades left + 101k

I feel like i need to get rid of Balta. Has a high B/E and with Astbury still out i'm afraid he's going to play a similar role to last week, which keeps him out of his rucking role and in defence constantly. If i get rid of Atkins and go down to Clark i can upgrade Balta to Boak and complete my forward line for now until i eventually get kelly in with a luxury trade later on. Or i could go Balta to Gray and then go atkins down to clarke and upgrade duursma. Unfortunately i only have 16 this week if Young doesn't play so going atkins to clarke helps..

Have gone: Clark, Hayes, Baker to Gardner, Clarke and Boak (99k in bank)

Would i be better off getting Brewley instead of Clarke?

Also at this current moment ill only have 17 playing after those trades. To fix this i could trade answerth instead of baker, howerver i would still be a few thousand short still for getting boak.

Looking to go

B Smith - Ryan
Hayes - Bewley

So ive come down to these 3 trade options...for now!

Pett - Dunkley is 100% locked in!

1. I can go Answerth - Naish & Stocker - Clarke (127K in bank)
or
2. I can go Answerth - Naish & Atkins - Clarke (246K in bank)
or
3. I can miss out on Naish so i can bring him in after his Bye
and go Atkins - Clarke & Stocker - Hately ( if named ) or Bewley (195K OR 226K in bank)

Id go 1 or 2 if you have enough players for next week. 2 if you need cash and 1 if you want to keep/use atkins as an emergency.

Grab Bewley or Hind instead of Clark, which allows you to still get Boak

Really?

Prob Crisp. Not good enough for a keeper. And hore will make a little bit more coin.

Worth trading out Burgess instead of Answerth for Naish seeing as Gold Coast and Richmond have the same bye?

screw it. taking a risk and bringing in the hoff for cover. My forward cover post byes is non existent (Young + Corbett) and gives me ruck cover for the year. he can be my F7/Ruck cover post byes..

Corbett - Hoff
Hayes - Bewley

Means i can get 16 on the field at least..

I have to make three trades to get 18. Right now I have Stocker>Bewley and Answerth>Gardner

If Hately is named I'll do a Hayes>Hately trade, otherwise I'll do an upgrade.

Playing 16 this week with rocky/corbett/Burguess out

Just a reminder that squeezing so hard for an 18th player is usually not worth the extra 50 odd points you'll get out of it.

With that warning to myself, I'm squeezing to get to 18 so Corbett > Naish has just been locked in.  I hadn't considered Naish really at all this week but now is coming in out of necessity given there are absolutely 0 FWD rookies (already have Gardner).

Other 2 trades are still being thought about but will likely be Clark > DEF premo, Scott > Bewley/Hind.

Trade Answerth instead of Baker to field 18

Grab Bewley or Hind instead of Clark, which allows you to still get Boak
ended up going answerth, clark, corbett to gardner, Clarke, Daniel. I was $100 short even if i went to brewley/hind to get boak which is highly disapointing. Will look to get Boak as my last fwd upgrade next week.

Already made 1 trade so far this week (Answerth - Naish ) and im in a little bit of a tough situation with my next 2 trades.

If i go Atkins - Clarke/Hately it leaves me with 245K for next week to upgrade Smith to Llyodd.
Now Atkins has been great this year and as a M9 comes in handy for next week and possibly the next few weeks.
If i do this trade ill still have 18 players playing next week.

My other option is to go Stocker - Clarke/Hately but leaves me with 125K, makes upgrading next week a little harder but also means i get to keep Atkins as good cover. Stocker out for 3-4 weeks doesnt help but he does though have a 0 B/E, he should come back into the Carlton team though.

Put the NED curse on Sicily this week. Playing fwd FFS!
Also traded ROB to Boak a week early last week to enable me to double down one up this week. :(
Just hoping ROBs scores last week and this week is enough of a curse and Boak goes alright. Wouldn’t be surprised with an 80 though...... FMSCL!

Going to pass on Bewley.

Clarke has shown enough to come in next week instead to provide some cover where needed. I also need a cheap M/F DPP so no room for Bewley (not trading scott as wont make enough $$ to justify it).

This round
- Answerth to Naish
- Corbett to Westoff (becomes my M/F/R cover)

Next round
- Walsh to Neale
- Gibbons to Clarke
- Hayes to cheap M/F DPP (this can wait a few weeks if needed though)

Leaves me with 7 trades and ~280K but still with B Smith, Hore and Duursma as my D4, 5 & 6 to deal with.. Might have to keep Smith and Hore at D5/6 and look to upgrade Duursma. Hopefully he can hit $400K.

North fans seem to like him.  Solid form in the VFL.  He's a big bodied midfielder who tags.  Will probably get a chance this year but at what stage is down to injuries & how well North do.

I’ve got Hayes as well. Looks like he is even less of a chance than Scott and nets me $100K to trade
