Captains for Cancer Council.
https://myownway.everydayhero.com/au/will-huggett-s-2018-fundraising

Please pledge funds to help fight cancer! Examples of ways you can help:
1.   Pledge an amount (e.g. $5) for every time LaHug nails the top captain of the round.
2.   Pledge an amount (e.g. $5) for every time LaHug's POD cracks the 120 mark.
3.   Pledge an amount (e.g. $5) for every time LaHug gets egg on his face and his number 1 scores under 100.
4.   Make a once off donation.

Pledges:
LaHug - $10 every time my number 1 doesn't crack the ton.
LaHug - $50 if my POD ever cracks 150.

Each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week.

The facts & thoughts:

Brodie Grundy
Last 3: 135, 128, 111 (125 avg)
Last 3 against Bulldogs: 94, 119, 95 (103 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 135, 103, 127 (122 avg)

Against the Bulldogs, ruck dominance should be easy for Grundy. Combined with his form, expect a good score. Prediction - 130

Jack Macrae
Last 3: 144, 155, 151 (150 avg)
Last 3 against Collingwood: 116, 139, 116 (124 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 155, 145, 128 (143 avg)

If you don't have Macrae, your team will be struggling (note: my team is struggling). Continues to score around the 150 mark, even when tagged in the wet. Prediction - 150

Dayne Zorko
Last 3: 134, 115, 176 (142 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 97, 148, 125 (123 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 134, 176, 55 (122 avg)

Zorko is definitely back and I'm very annoyed that I only got him in AF, missing both DT and SC. He'll be good again this week but beware the Hewett tag. Prediction - 115

Dayne Beams
Last 3: 119, 69, 120 (103 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 125, 113, 108 (115 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 119, 120, 87 (109 avg)

While Zorko cops the tag, Beams will run free. With his history against the Swans and his team in good form, he'll be good again. Prediction - 120

Mitch Duncan
Last 3: 108, 100, 115 (108 avg)
Last 3 against Carlton: 117, 113, 48 (93 avg)
Last 3 at Kardinia: 115, 105, 93 (104 avg)

Probably the best of the Cats right now but none of them is standing out like we thought they would. I like Duncan this week as the Cats will rebound against the Blues. Prediction - 120

Josh Kelly
Last 3: 88, 118, 115 (107 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 159, 85, 79 (108 avg)
Last 3 at Showgrounds: 119, 130, 91 (113 avg)

Kelly is looking likely to finally make his return this week and, while it's nuts to make him captain after a huge layoff, I'm quietly hopeful that he can repeat what he did against the Bombers in their last matchup. Prediction - 110

Tom Mitchell
Last 3: 149, 58, 119 (109 avg)
Last 3 against West Coast: 122, 92, 41 (85 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 83, 120, 143 (115 avg)

Tom Mitchell is so confusing this year. Some weeks, he's the best player in the comp, while others he's super susceptible to a tag. West Coast aren't tagging very hard and Yeo, a potential run-with player, might be injured this week. Titch should go big again. Prediction - 130

Max Gawn
Last 3: 105, 111, 111 (109 avg)
Last 3 against Adelaide: 79, 100 (90 avg)
Last 3 at Alice Springs: 142, 32 (87 avg)

Gawn's been a bit quieter this week than earlier in the year. Against an out of form Jacobs, I expect big him to be good. The question is how good? Prediction - 110

Nat Fyfe
Last 3: 97, 106, 128 (110 avg)
Last 3 against North: 114, 87, 137 (113 avg)
Last 3 at Perth: 106, 101, 136 (114 avg)

Jacobs tag is a certainty so stay away. Prediction - 80

LAHUG'S POD!

Lance Franklin
Last 3: 112, 55, 100 (89 avg)
Last 3 against Brisbane: 133, 102, 70 (102 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 102, 70, 127 (100 avg)

If you think Brisbane will come crashing back to Earth like Carlton did, Franklin is your perfect POD. We know he can kick a bag and he scored 133 last time they played. Prediction - 130

The verdict:
1.   Jack Macrae (150)
2.   Brodie Grundy (130)
3.   Tom Mitchell (130)
4.   Mitch Duncan (120)
5.   Dayne Beams (120)

If Levi Greenwood is named, should we reconsider Macrae?

I need to start putting Curnow in my write ups. He's great at the moment. But I'm worried about the Blues getting smashed enough that nobody scores well...
