Hey all :)
I'm about to get stuck into making the fixture for 2018. It's our "2 year reset", so we aren't bound by who hosted who last year and who was our neutral opponent.
As you know, Round 1 has been released by meow (which I pre-approved). This features all of our neutral opponents for the year, and also for next year.
But any requests for the remaining 16 rounds? I can't guarantee you'll get it, but I'll try my best.
Rio's Fixture:
R1: N VS Tokyo
R2: H VS Cairo Sands
R3: A @ PNL Reindeers
R4: H VS Toronto
R5: A @ New York Revolution
R6: H VS Berlin Brewers
R7: A @ New Delhi Tigers
R8: H VS Christchurch Saints
R9: A @ Moscow Spetsnaz
R10: H VS Beijing Thunder
R11: A @ London Royals
R12: H VS Pacific Islanders
R13: A @ Buenos Aires Armadillos
R14: H VS Seoul Magpies
R15: A @ Mexico City Suns
R16: H VS Dublin Destroyers
R17: A @ Cape Town Cobras
If we could not end the season with the Beijing, Berlin, Christchurch, NDT, Seoul, New York, Dublin and PNL again, that would be fantastic. :P 5 of those 8 were away too.
If we could play AWAY vs Dublin, NDT and Seoul and HOME vs Pacific, Berlin and Beijing as well as Neutral vs Church 8)
my first request would have been that i play NDT round 11 to 14 to build up tension. But sadly i have them round 1.
Purp i think this is a good idea for everyone.
Tier 1: Dublin, NDT, Seoul, Pacific, Berlin, Christchurch
Tier 2: New York, Toronto, Cairo, PNL, Beijing, Moscow
Tier 3 Rio, Mexico, Capetown, London, Tokyo, Dillos
R1: Neutral
R2: 1 plays 3, 2 plays 2
R3: 1 plays 1, 2 plays 3
R4: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 3
R5: 1 plays 3, 2 plays 2
R6: 1 plays 1, 2 plays 3
R7: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 3
R8: 1 plays 3, 2 plays 2
R9: 1 plays 1, 2 plays 3
R10: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 3
R11: 1 plays 3, 2 plays 2
R12: 1 plays 1, 2 plays 3
R13: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 3
R14: 1 plays 3, 2 plays 2
R15: 1 plays 1, 2 plays 3
R16: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 3
R17: you play who you havent
The round 1 fixture will make this much more difficult though
the idea behind the tier system is that i think coming up against all the teams in your tier in a row was a silly idea.
1. playing teams in your tier is normally the most interesting so its stupid to have them all back to back.
2. a major injury could completely screw you if it hits when you are playing your tier or it could do little to affect you.
this will spread out the fun and also the injury risk.
I like it Holz :)
Sounds good to me

This is 10% Luck , 20% New York
15% Gary Ablett finding the pill
5% PNL, 50% Who cares they aint Dublin
And a 100% reason to just stop you whinging about the game.

my first request would have been that i play NDT round 11 to 14 to build up tension. But sadly i have them round 1.
Tension for what? Next years game?
Can I have all my home games in the second half of the season?
It nearly killed me, but I've done it. Believe me when I say I slaved over this!
Home games are still to be decided, but this is what I've decided so far:
- I liked Holz' tiered system, so I implemented it. However, a couple of slight changes had to be made to his idea:
- because of that pesky neutral round... long story short, I had to promote Cape Town to Tier 2, and demote Moscow to tier 3. I just had to.
- also because of that pesky neutral round (not hating btw meow, I still like your match-ups and appreciate the help), instead of:

R1: Neutral
R2: 1 plays 3, 2 plays 2
R3: 1 plays 1, 2 plays 3
R4: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 3
...
R14: 1 plays 3, 2 plays 2
R15: 1 plays 1, 2 plays 3
R16: 1 plays 2, 3 plays 3
R17: you play who you havent
It's now
Round 1, 5, 9, 13 and 17: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3
Round 2, 4, 7, 10, 12, 15: 1v2, 1v2, 1v2, 1v3, 1v3, 1v3, 2v3, 2v3, 2v3
Round 3, 6, 8, 11, 14, 16: 1v3, 1v3, 1v3, 1v2, 1v2, 1v2, 3v2, 3v2, 3v2
It might make for some low-key rounds & high-octane rounds instead of a nice spread, but this is simply how it has to be done, if we were to keep that neutral round 1 fixture.
I'm so mentally drained. Fixturing might be the worst thing ever. I kinda just copied and modified ossies' 2012 fixture last year, this is the first one I did from scratch, and it was the worst.
But this is what your tiered fixture looks like (home games TBC):
Round | Beijing | Berlin | Buenos Aires | Cairo | Cape Town | Christchurch | Dublin | London | Mexico City | Moscow | New Delhi | New York | Pacific | PNL | Rio de Janeiro | Seoul | Tokyo | Toronto |

absolutely love it thanks for the hard work Purp.
the highlight matches are spread out nicely.
Round 1: I play the pretenders
Round 6: I face my toughest opponent all year
Round 9: My players get to feel young
Round 13: The Irish get drunk
Round 17: I face the grandfinal losers
So, you'll never play a Tier 1 team, Tier 2 team or Tier 3 team twice in a row, which is cool.
For me (Tier 1), the pattern is (and similar for everyone else):
Rounds 1-4: 1-3-2-3
Rounds 5-8: 1-2-3-2
Rounds 9-12: 1-3-2-3
Rounds 13-17: 1-2-3-2-1
Probs the most spread out fixture Worlds has had (pending the improvements/worsening of teams)
Great stuff Purp, appreciate the effort that went into that!
That's actually not bad.
Great work Purps!
Final Round vs Toronto - reckon that could be the match to see who makes the 8!
Joking, we'll both be entrenched in the 8 already by that time :P
Nice work Purps and well done.
Get to destroy Dublin early.
